This is official notification that JAFWA is plaaning to have a Special General Meeting of its signed up members during the Dinner Break of Saturday 22nd February. As attendees may recall, the air conditioning was not sufficient at the Marathon screening in December, and we wish to consult with our members about what we do this year.
On a side note, we had an unexpected addition to the program last week, the 5 minute “Out of Sight”. We hope no one minded, but I thought it was a nice contrast to the super sensory ESP of the dhow before hand.
We thank Greg for finding this little gem. Does anyone else have any cute short items we can play?

Fruits Basket (2019 remake)
After a family tragedy turns her life upside down, plucky high schooler Tohru Honda takes matters into her own hands and moves out into a tent. Unfortunately for her, she pitches her new home on private land belonging to the mysterious Sohma clan, and it isn’t long before the owners discover her secret. But, as Tohru quickly finds out when the family offers to take her in, the Sohmas have a secret of their own–when touched by the opposite sex, they turn into the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.
This evening’s Episode: “That’s a Secret”
One year has passed since the death of Tohru’s mother Kyoko. After school, during Tohru’s part-time job, Momiji tells her about his mother, his father, and his little sister, Momo. However, Tohru notices that Momiji’s mother does not remember him. Momiji recites how on the day he was born, his mother rejected him after finding out he turned into rabbit when embracing him, an effect of the Sohma curse.
Non Non Biyori
In the countryside small town village of Asahigaoka, a place lacking many of the conveniences that people from the city are accustomed to. The nearest stores are a few miles away and one of the local schools consists of only five students, each of whom is in a different grade of elementary or middle school. Hotaru Ichijo, a fifth grader from Tokyo, transfers into Asahigaoka Branch School and has to adjust to countryside life with her new friends.
This evening’s Episode: “We Went to a Candy Store”
Hotaru develops a crush on Komari due to her short stature and feels happy after receiving some candy from her. Later, Komari invites Hotaru to come hang out with her, although Hotaru’s choice of clothing causes Komari to mistake her for a unknown adult tourist from Tokyo.
Dr Stone
Typical student Taiju Oki tells his science-loving friend Senku Ishigami that he will confess his feelings to their classmate Yuzuriha Ogawa. He prepares to make his confession to Yuzuriha under a camphor tree on the school grounds, but his attempt is interrupted when a bright light appears in the sky. Taiju pushes Yuzuriha to the tree to protect her as the light petrifies them along with the entire human population. After 3700 years spent trapped in stone, Senku and Taiju are somehow revived from their petrified state six months apart in what they now call the Stone World.
This evening’s Episode: “King of the Stone World”
Senku and Taiju prepare enough revival fluid to free one person from stone, with Taiju choosing Yuzuriha to be first subject. However, they are suddenly chased by a group of hungry lions, leading them to instead revive the strongest fighter in their school, Tsukasa Shishio, to fight them off. However, Tsukasa intends to rule this Stone World with a philosphy our heroes cannot agree to.
Mob Psycho 100 season 2
Shigeo Kageyama’s nickname is “Mob”. A slang term for a background character, someone who doesn’t stand out. In truth he is an incredibly powerful psychic who has suppressed his emotions in order to avoid causing a catastrophe. Mob would like nothing better than to live a normal life and have feelings just like anyone else, but with his incredible psychic powers there’s no telling what might happen if he did.
Tonight’s Episode: “Urban Legends ~Encountering Rumors~ ”
Reigen and Mob are hired to eradicate certain urban legends that have emerged, but they face competition from a Rival Psychic. Reigen quickly shows Mob how average things are misconstrued and blown into Scary Urban Legends. But not all of them are fake.
Fire Force (En’en no Shouboutai, literally “Blazing Firefighting Corps”)
In the year 198 of the Age of the Sun, Tokyo is a crowded cosmopolis. But the world’s most populous city is threatened by devils that cause people to burst into flame at random. The only ones who can stop it are the Pyrofighters, a team of specialized firefighters. The young Shinra, blessed with the ability to ignite his feet and travel at the speed of a rocket, wants nothing more than to be a hero, and knows that this is the place for him. But he’s not the best at following orders.
Tonight’s Episode: “The Heart of a Fire Soldier ”
Shinra is told about the upcoming Rookie Fire Soldier Games and how he and the new recruit, Arthur Boyle, will represent Special Fire Force Company 8. Lieutenant Hinawa orders Maki to test their abilities before the games, and she easily defeats them because of their overconfidence as third-generation pyrokinetics. Suddenly, the company receives an emergency call of an Infernal, and Shinra and Boyle will discover that they are too immature yet.
Sword Art Online: Alicization (series 3 part 2) “War of Underworld”
Kazuto has been recruited to assist in testing an experimental FullDive machine, Soul Translator (STL), which has an interface that is far more realistic and complex than the previous machine he had played to help develop an artificial intelligence for the Ministry of Defense (MOD) named A.L.I.C.E. He tests the STL by entering a virtual reality cyberspace created with The Seed package, named UnderWorld (UW). In the UW, the flow of time proceeds a thousand times faster than in the real world, and Kirito’s memories of what happens inside are restricted.
Tonight’s Episode: “Raids”
With Rulid under attack by goblins and orcs, Alice quickly equips her armor, but conceals it beneath her clothes and flies to the village on Amayori. She finds a small group of villagers attempting fight off the goblins while the remaining villagers stand back preparing to mount a defence. Meanwhile, in the real world, Gabriel Miller and his team approach Rath on a submarine. He and his invasion force have taken control of the main control room of Ocean Turtle but are currently locked out.
Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba)
Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted and intelligent boy who lives with his family, making money by selling charcoal. Everything changes when his family is attacked and slaughtered by demons (oni). Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko are the sole survivors of the incident. Nezuko has now become a demon, but still surprisingly shows signs of human emotion and thought. Tanjiro becomes a demon slayer to help his sister turn human again and to prevent the same tragedy that happened to him and his sister, from happening to others.
Tonight’s Episode: “Trainer Sakonji Urokodaki”
Tanjiro continues to make his way to Mt. Sagiri, carrying Nezuko in a clothed straw basket on his back during the day. On the way they are attacked by another demon which they manage to restrain with their own efforts. Sakonji Urokodaki then appears and orders Tanjiro to kill it. Is Tanjiro too weak to become a Demon Slayer? Urokodaki gives him a nigh impossible test to pass.
Cop Craft
15 years ago, an unknown hyperspace gate opened over the Pacific. Beyond this gate lies Reto Semaani, a strange alternate world where fairies and demons live. San Teresa City — a city where over two million immigrants live from both worlds. As a result, there are the haves and the have-nots. Here is the world’s newest “city of dreams.” But in the shadow of the chaos, crime is rampant: drugs, prostitution, and weapon trafficking. The detectives who stand up to these heinous crimes are in the San Teresa City Police. When the detective Kei Matoba and the alternate-world knight Tirana — two individuals who differ in gender, personality, and even world of origin — meet, an incident erupts.
Tonight’s Episode: “Dragnet Mirage”
Kei and Tilarna have trouble keeping the attacker down before Tilarna slices the enemy with her sword. Kei chastises her for killing the attacker instead of keeping it alive for questioning. Kei reluctantly lets Tilarna stay at his home, where she learns he has been keeping a cat despite being allergic to it because he felt guilty for the cat getting injured while he chased a suspect. Meanwhile, an elf named Elbaji meets a terrorist named Kareem to demonstrate the power of a prototype “fairy bomb” that can instantly turn people into puppet corpses.
Psycho-Pass season 3
In a future Japan where the psychological profiling system Sybil determines your place in society, or your removal for the good of society, now veteran Inspector Akane Tsunemori has been arrested by Public Security, for putting the public in danger. The unfolding story and the truth Tsunemori seeks involves two new investigators: Arato Shindo and Kei Mikhail Ignatov.
Tonight’s Episode: “Teumessian Sacrifices”
Shindo and Ignatov deduce that Fellows’ murderer was able to keep their Hue clear by causing Fellows to commit suicide. They also realize that the data Fellows provides is proof that Takumi and Tetsuya are involved in an illegal subprime lending scheme. Yonehara panics at an audit, raising his Psycho-Pass to criminal levels. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reasons to interfere, and more leads will turn up dead. All within Bifrost’s plans. And from her cell, Tsunemori continues to observe events and await her “judgment,” when society’s true nature will be revealed to all.
