No Screening this Saturday, 4th May 2024

No JAFWA screening until Saturday 11^th May 2024!

This Saturday, while you are all out there enjoying life without JAFWA (if you can call such a life “enjoyable”), you could always pop down to Cannington Bunnings for a sausage sizzle and a little exposure to JAFWA. For yes, this Saturday May the Fourth (be with you) JAFWA is running the sausage sizzle stand, infusing them with anime goodness as it exudes from our otaku hearts. Having tried them before, I know they taste delicious!

May is almost upon us, and beginning in May through to September inclusive, we shall operate 1 hour earlier, to take advantage of the Night ascendant (after all, we are only 1 1/2 months from the Winter Solstice). Make certain to arrive for a 4:15PM start at JAFWA screenings from now on.

We expect that members, sucj as Collin, who have done extra-curricula anime watching of the “Rascal Does Not Dream” anime will go to see animated double feature “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out” and “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid” expected in various cinemas, for a strictly limited season, form Thursday May 9^th.

When JAFWA returns on May 11^th, our program will include a new regular series involving re-incarnation, revenge and idols.

• Starts Thursday May 30^th 2024 — Based off of an anime series that JAFWA did not screen is the animated movie ” HAIKYU!!: THE DUMPSTER BATTLE” expected in various cinemas.
• Weekend June 29^th-30^th 2024 — Supanova – Perth at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
• Monday July 8^th 2024, ~6:30PM — Luna Double Feature at Luna Cinemas Leederville – “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind” and “Ponyo” $15.
• Weekend July 13/14^th 2024, 9AM-4PM — Anime in the Valley at Swan Settlers Market in Herne Hill. It is a bit of a hike so make certain to leave early to reach JAFWA in time (Winter hours)
• Saturday August 25^th 2024, ~9AM to 1PM — Collectors Zone – Toy & Hobby Fair at ECU Sports and Fitness Centre, Joondalup.
• Weekend September 28/29^th 2024, — Pixel Expo at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Leave early in time for JAFWA.
