April comes to an end and you know what that means – it is the monthly Member’s Prize draw!
Also, we will be having quick survey during the Dinner Break to see which items are enjoyed by the membership, so please be honest and scalar.
Meanwhile we hope everybody is enjoying the “Spy x Family” movie “Code White” in the cinemas, but make certain to enjoy it subbed rather than dubbed.

This week our JAFWA program bids farewell to a couple of regular program items, yet also finds room for another preview item this week.
“MS-Gundam: The Witch From Mercury” come to the end of its season as we screen its final two episodes. And to end the night we end the second season of “Goblin Slayer“.
Our preview episode at the beginning involves a young child in a fantasy world discovering she is considered worthless, magically speaking, and the magical slime she befriends. Based off of the manga volumes in the JAFWA library.

preview item – The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash (“Saijaku Teim? wa Gomihiroi no Tabi o Hajimemashita”)

Young Ivy can’t catch a break. Though she has a few memories of her past life, she was reborn into an RPG-like world in the weakest class, and worse, as the weakest rank. As a no-star Tamer, even her parents want nothing to do with her, and she soon realizes she must survive on her own. She learns to live off the land and salvage what she can from other people’s leavings. But when Ivy manages to tame Sora, a lowly slime, everything changes for both of them. There’s something special about this frail little monster, and Ivy’s care will bring out the best in both of them.

This evening’s Episode: “On a Journey Alone“

Femicia, an 8-year-old tamer who is deemed an unwanted child by her family and fellow villagers for being starless, sneaks out of Latomi village during the night and grabs her resources that were given to her by the village’s fortune teller. Along the way, she remembers pieces of her past life, and heeding the advice of her past life, she takes on a boyish appearance and a new name, Ivy. Ivy befriends a disintegrating slime, the weakest monster in existence and the only monster she can tame, and shares her life struggles with it.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End (Sousou no Furiiren)

Frieren

For ten years, elf mage Frieren traveled with Himmel the hero, Heiter the priest, and Eisen the dwarf warrior as they quested to destroy the demon king. At the end of their journey, Frieren set out on her own, not quite understanding how differently time flows for her versus her human companions. Reunited after fifty years only to see them wither and die, Frieren begins to ponder the nature of connections at a time when it’s already too late to say goodbye.

This Evening’s Episode: “Killing Magic“

Fern notices Frieren acting suspiciously and follows her to several unusual and dangerous shops, but Frieren is trying to work out what to get for Fern’s birthday. Frieren decides to revisit places she visited with Himmel, Heiter and Eisen. The first place is a village where Frieren sealed away Qual, the Demon of Corruption. The seal will break soon so Frieren must defeat Qual. She is surprised to learn Himmel checked the seal every year until he died and was always confident Frieren would visit before it broke.

The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu)

One day, a young woman named Saku took in a stray black cat who she later named Yukichi. However, as time went on, Yukichi grew large enough to be mistaken for a bear. Instead of being a threat though, Yukichi spends his time cooking food, doing laundry, and taking care of his owner after she comes home from hard days at work.

This Evening’s Episode: “The Masterful Cat Can Watch the House?“

The company trip is coming and Saku forgot about it. What is she to do without Yukichi? What is Yukichi to do, except to plan everything then stay home and finally look after home? Can they survive without each other?

The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto)

Apothecary Maomao was just out collecting herbs when she was kidnapped by procurers for the Imperial harem, an easy way for unscrupulous people to get money by having “relatives” go work in the Rear Palace. Hiding her skills and knowledge, Maomao hopes to just glide by, earning as little as possible for her kidnappers during her term of service, but such is not to be: when royal infants begin dying, Maomao can’t resist letting people know the cause. This catches the eye of the far-too-handsome Jinshi, who elevates Maomao from laundry maid to poison taster to the Emperor’s favorite concubine. So much for flying under the radar…

Tonight’s Episode: “Reducing Two to One“

Maomao confronts Fengming about past events involving Ah-Duo’s baby and the empress dowager’s child. She discovers that Ah-Duo lost the ability to give birth after her first child partially due to the doctor attending another royal birth. Later, Fengming unknowingly killed Ah-Duo’s son by feeding him poisonous honey. The death was treated as a mystery, but this and the previous infertility incident led to Maomao’s father’s expulsion.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (Kidou Senshi Gandamu: Suisei no Majo)

An era when a multitude of corporations have entered space and built a huge economic system. A lone girl from the remote planet Mercury transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the Beneritt Group which dominates the mobile suit industry. Her name is Suletta Mercury. With a scarlet light burning in her pure heart, this girl walks step by step through a new world.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Unrelenting Tenderness ” and “May All Blessings Find Their Way To You, I’m Wishing It ” finale

Suletta faces Ericht but gets slowly overwhelmed while the latter’s drones intercept Earth House. However, Quiet Zero then momentarily shuts down, seemingly having a will of its own, allowing the team to board the battle station. Meanwhile, Guel refuses to fight Lauda and allows his mobile suit to get stabbed in atonement for their father’s death, shocking the latter back to his senses. Fortunately, Felsi intervenes and prevents Guel’s mobile suit from exploding. Elsewhere, Delling calls for an emergency session with the Space Assembly League, but they ignore the request and prepare to fire the ILTS, an interplanetary super laser, to destroy both Quiet Zero and the Benerit Group headquarters.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were not always enemies. Long before they had what was supposed to be their final encounter during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, the pair were fellow students, rivals, and friends. In another world, they would have been the twin shining stars of Jujutsu Sorcery, but one fateful event destroyed any hope of that ever happening. Turn back the clock to witness the mission that drove them to curse one another beyond even death.

Tonight’s Episode: “Right and Wrong, part 3“

Yuji goes into shock seeing Nobara’s apparently dead body, thinking about everybody in Shibuya he failed to save. Mahito takes advantage of his mental state and pounds away at him, even executing a “Black Flash”, while mocking his poor resolve. Just then, Todo appears, saving Yuji before he is killed.

Undead Unluck

F?ko Izumo is known as a woman cursed with “Unluck.” F?ko brings misfortune to anyone who touches her and the scale is proportional to how long they had physical contact. She’s saved by Andy, a man who cannot die (“Undead”). He hopes to figure out a way to use F?ko’s misfortune to finally bring him death. The unlikely pair team up to complete missions given to them by the Book of Revelations, but if they or any of the other negators in their union fail, the book can punish humanity.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Rio de Janeiro” and “Activate”

In a flashback, Andy and Fuuko tracked Unrepair to a black market auction being held on a ship in Rio de Janeiro, used by mafia worldwide to sell captured Negators, UMAs, and Artifacts to the highest bidder. Back in the present, Andy and Fuuko buy fancy clothes to disguise themselves as a married celebrity couple to infiltrate the auction, while Tatiana is tasked with investigating the ship from the outside. Then there is an attack by a rogue group of Negators led by Rip, the man who tortured Unseen. Andy and Fuuko use their abilities to make it past the guards and get to the cargo hold of the ship. Meanwhile, the auctioned Negator, a young boy with the Unmove ability named Chikara, attempts to escape in the chaos but is confronted by Rip, who has the Unrepair ability.

Goblin Slayer season 2

In a world of fantasy, adventurers come far and wide to join the Guild, in order to complete contracts for whatever jobs are available. An inexperienced priestess joins her first adventuring party, but comes into danger after her first adventurer contract involving goblins goes wrong. After the rest of her party is wiped out, she is saved by a man known as Goblin Slayer, an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of goblins with extreme prejudice. And when rumours of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next.

Tonight’s Episode: “O Prayers, Have You Reached Heaven?” finale

The barely alive goblin priest uses a drop of its own blood to complete the ritual and summons the giant clawed hand of a demon that attacks them. Despite their injuries, they slowly fight past goblins to return to the surface, but find 200 goblins waiting for them. Back in the city, it is revealed the kidnapping and demon summoning was arranged by a noble conspiring with cultists to weaken King’s political position and take power for himself.
