Welcome Back! Below is the program for the evening of Saturday February 10^th, 2018.

We shall be having our normal program, though you will have to wait for next week before we screen any previews.
However, this month we begin our new Members Prize scheme, where we only give a way a member’s prize at the end of the month, and you get a number of entries based on how often you attended during the month. Below we hope to show (have to cut down the image size) some examples of the prize pack that our new super-special member’s prizes will contain:

Unfortunately, our plans to run a booth at MadFest on the first week of March have fallen through. Time was not on our side.
However, there is still a chance to get involved with the operation of JAFWA. We are looking for some volunteers to help out at a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle on May 5th, for fundraising purposes. Does anyone wish to help cook sausages in a bun, and even < shock/horror > help serve the general public< / shock/horror >?

Synopsis

Sakura Quest

Yoshino Koharu is a young girl trying to look for a job in Tokyo, but is only met with a series of rejections. However, she has a seemingly lucky break when she receives a job offer to work with the tourism board of the economically struggling Manoyama village as their “Queen”. With no other choice, Yoshino accepts the offer and travels to Manoyama only to find out that she was hired based on a case of mistaken identity and that her contract term is for one year instead of the one day, as she had initially thought. With nowhere else to go, Yoshino reluctantly becomes Queen of Manoyama.

This evening’s Episode: “The Cry of the Mandrake”

Yoshino continues trying to help revitalize Manoyama, with little success. During a television interview, Yoshino realizes that she doesn’t actually know all that much about the town, nor what to do to actually change things. However, when she tries to ask the townspeople what they think should be done, the majority of them end up being completely apathetic to their situation.

Knight’s and Magic

A world where medieval knights use giant robots called Silhouette Knights to fight against demon beasts, magical ravenous animals that devour everything on sight. Tsubasa Kurata is a mecha otaku from Japan who gets killed in a car accident. Tsubasa is reincarnated in this new parallel world as Ernesti “Eru” Echevallia, a boy born into a noble family. Tsubasa’s previous otaku memories inspire Ernesti into creating his own Silhouette Knight in order to defend his kingdom.

This evening’s Episode: “Scrap & Build”

Eru is summoned by the King who wants to reward him any prize for defeating the Behemoth. Much to the court and his grandfather’s shock, Eru asks for the classified schematics of an Ether Reactor, the heart of a Silhouette Knight. For Eru wants to make his dream Silhouette Knight and ride it as his hobby. The King is amused.

Isekai Shokudo (Restaurant to Another World)

The Western Restaurant Nekoya is a restaurant situated in a mundane corner of an undisclosed Tokyo shopping district which, despite its name, offers a lot of Japanese dishes in addition to Western ones. It opens during usual business hours and closed during holidays and weekends. But secretly it is open on Saturdays, as on this particular day it creates doorways to another world inhabited by elves, dragons, animal men and other fantastic creatures, who enter the restaurant and partake on its menu, with all of them becoming regular patrons.

This evening’s Episode: “Carpaccio / Curry Bun”

An adolescent Siren, Iris, drags her friend Arius into a daredevil adventure on the very island where Alphonse Flügel was stranded until recently. But “Kuro” arrives at the Nekoya for work, with an additional task to fulfill on behalf of the “Red Queen”: To protect the restaurant from any mischief-making or hostile parties while she is out on an errand. Does Kuro have what it takes to deal with these lesser mortals?

Retro – Ch?jik? Y?sai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)

In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.

This evening’s Episode: “Chinatown”

Whilst Misa and Global travel to the Alaskan headquarters of the new UN, Hikaru escorts Minmay to Japan so that she could visit her parents. Lynn Kaifun, a relative of Minmay, joins the Macross to see his parents and protect Minmay.

Made in Abyss

An orphan girl named Riko who lives in the town of ?su on an island in the sea of Beoluska. The city surrounds a strange, giant hole going deep into the earth, which is commonly called the Abyss. The Abyss harbours artefacts and remnants of a civilisation long gone, and is therefore the popular hunting spot for so-called Cave Raiders, who undertake arduous and dangerous descends into the mist-filled pit to recover whatever relics they can find. However, the deeper one goes into the Abyss, the more one is afflicted by a progressively fatal malady called the Curse of the Abyss; few who have descended into the lower regions have returned to tell of their experiences.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Great Fault”

Riko and Reg begin climbing down the Great Fault, using a network of caves to avoid the flying predators that inhabit the layer. However, they accidentally stumble into a madokajack nest and Reg is forced to use his Incinerator to kill the madokajack. With Reg unconcious, can Riko survive the ever increasing threats and perils?

Lupin the Third – Part 4

The internationally infamous Arsène Lupin, master thief and unrepentant womaniser, continues to seek out ever more challenging heists to pull off. With him goes an eccentric band of misfits; Jigen the scruffy sharpshooter, Fujiko the femme fatal of dubious loyalty, and Goemon the stoic swordsman. And close on their heels no matter where Lupin and his gang end up, the unrelenting Inspector Zenigata. Determined to put Lupin and his cohorts in prison for the seemingly endless list burglaries and thefts they have already pulled off.

Tonight’s Episode: “Lupin’s Day Off”

Lupin, Jigen and Goemon want to spend some time in the hills outside Rome, but they casually find a lost dog. The dog belongs to a rich woman who’s ready to offer a big reward to anyone who will be able to take it back to her.

Maho Tsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride)

Chise Hatori, 15 years old. Lost, without hope, and without family, she is bought for money … not by another person, but by a non-human sorcerer named Elias Ainsworth. Though she hesitates, she begins life anew as his apprentice and future wife.

Tonight’s Episode: “The balance distinguishes not between gold and lead.”

The kidnapped Chise is taken to a dragon nesting ground by the youthful mage Lindel, the dragon’s caretaker. Chise meets an elderly dragon called Uncle Nevin, who wishes to converse with someone new.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (God’s Blessing on this Beautiful World) series 2

Kazuma Satou wasn’t looking for anything beyond his simple high school shut-in existence. But one untimely death later and he finds himself before the goddess Aqua with the chance to be deposited in a fantasy kingdom that is in need of heroes to defeat a demon lord. Things don’t look good from the moment he arrives and so Kazuma decides to ditch the whole “save the world” thing and just try to become rich and live comfortably. Unfortunately, the various eccentric companions he is saddled with aren’t really helping with that goal.

Tonight’s Episode: “Peace for the Master of This Labyrinth!”

Wanting to earn some real money, Kazuma and Aqua go to explore a newly discovered pathway in Keele’s Dungeon, coming across gremlins, mimics, and the undead along the way. They soon come across the dungeon’s master, an arch wizard named Keele who had been seeking a priest.

Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil)

In an alternate universe similar to 1910’s Europe, in an empire torn apart by countless wars with all nearby countries. An arrogant Japanese is reborn as Second Lieutenant Tanya Degurechaff of the Imperial Army, a 9-year-old soldier girl. In search for an escape, Tanya decides to enter into the Empire’s Mages Division and fight in World War I, hoping to reach a high enough rank as fast as possible to remain far from the battlefield and in this way avoid the risk of being killed. Even if she’s now forced to speak with a young girl’s lisp, Tanya soon turns into a ruthless soldier who prioritises efficiency and her own career over anything else, even the lives of those beneath her.

Tonight’s Episode: “Prologue”

After recovering from her injuries Tanya is assigned to the Tactical Instructor squad back home to her great relief. She tests a new type of computation jewel, Elenium Type-95 but this proves as dangerous as the front lines. The jewel is unstable, but Development Chief Engineer Adelheid von Schugel pushes her to her limit.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Diamond is Unbreakable (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Diamond is Unbreakable)

It’s the year 1999, 11 years after Jotaro Kujo’s desperate fight against Dio in Egypt. Jotaro meets with Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of his grandfather Joseph Joestar. He discovers that Josuke also has the same “Stand” power and that a new threat is surfacing in Morioh City.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Nijimura Brothers, Part 1”

Angelo reveals to Josuke and Jotaro that he received his Stand ability from a man in a school uniform who shot him with a mysterious bow and arrow, mentioning Dio’s name. Jotaro decides to stay in Morioh to investigate. The next day, as Josuke and Koichi pass by what should be an abandoned house near Josuke’s house, Koichi is attacked by the Nijimura brothers, Okuyasu and Keicho, the latter of whom shoots an arrow through Koichi’s neck.
