No Screening this Saturday, 7nd October 2023

No JAFWA screening until Saturday 14th October 2023!

JAFWA is taking its regular break from Screening this Saturday. We wish to be refreshed when we return in October proper.
Unfortunately we may need this Break (as will the other attendees of JAFWA), as last Saturday someone reported a positive CoVID test after attending JAFWA. We hope all other attendees take appropriate action.
Regrettably JAFWA will have to postpone the Bunnings Sausage Sizzle at Cannington, originally scheduled for Oct 7, until a later date. Maybe in December. We wish to apologise to everyone who was looking forward to a JAFWA cooked sausage-in-a-bun.

But enough of those Woes!
The important thing to remember for October is that we have ceased Winter Hours and resumed Regular Screening Hours, ie starting just after 5PM, when return on the 14th.

However, if you need some fannish activity this coming weekend, if you attend the Hall this Saturday from Midday, you are likely to encounter the local Doctor Who club.

When JAFWA returns on the 14th we will be previewing an episode of an anime called “Sweet Reincarnation”, that does involve isekai. Also, there should be a second preview episode that night, but we haven’t decided what yet.
We are in the process of re-arranging the program due to the Bean Poll on the fate of our retro series “City Hunter”. Of the people who voted:

  1. 9 votes – Do away with “City Hunter” after this week, and use the emptied timeslot to show extra episodes of our regular items to try and finish by the end of the year.
  2. 6 votes – Discontinue screening “City Hunter” after this week, and find another retro slot item (probably “El Hazard”).
  3. 5 votes – Continue screening “City Hunter” after the Late Break.
