Below is the program for the evening of Saturday October 13^th, 2017.

This week we start two new regular series. We chose the two new series based off of the survey from last session, however it took some statistical analysis to finally find one of the three contenders for second place that just managed to edge out ahead.
Though since we showed the first episode of “Restaurant to Another World” so recently, we will go straight to episode #2 this week.

The end of 2017 is closing in upon us. We are taking suggestions for what JAFWA should screen on our End of Year marathon screening on Saturday 16^th December. We have a pretty full program so far, but we still ask: What would you like to see?

Synopsis

Little Witch Academia TV

Akko Kagari enrolls into Luna Nova Academy, a school for young witches, after being inspired at a young age by a witch named Shiny Chariot, and often spends her days hanging with her classmates, Lotte and Sucy. However, she has trouble paying attention in class, doesn’t know how to ride her broom, and is often looked down upon for admiring Chariot, whom many believe gives the wrong impression about witches.

This evening’s Episode: “Amanda O’Neill and the Holy Grail”

Learning from Ursula that history and tradition are the clues needed to unlock the Shiny Rod’s fifth word, Akko and Amanda sneak into Andrew’s school, Appleton Academy, where a relic known as the Holy Grail is being kept. But there are several people who seek to oppose them.

Made in Abyss

An orphan girl named Riko who lives in the town of ?su on an island in the sea of Beoluska. The city surrounds a strange, giant hole going deep into the earth, which is commonly called the Abyss. The Abyss harbors artefacts and remnants of a civilisation long gone, and is therefore the popular hunting spot for so-called Cave Raiders, who undertake arduous and dangerous descends into the mist-filled pit to recover whatever relics they can find. However, the deeper one goes into the Abyss, the more one is afflicted by a progressively fatal malady called the Curse of the Abyss; few who have descended into the lower regions have returned to tell of their experiences.

This evening’s Episode: “The City of the Great Pit”

Little Orphan Riko is digging for artefacts at a safe level, hoping to find enough artefacts to be promoted. An attack by a creature from the depths is almost certain doom, until she is saved by a robot boy. Can she keep this valuable secret safe?

Isekai Shokudo (Restaurant to Another World)

The Western Restaurant Nekoya is a restaurant situated in a mundane corner of an undisclosed Tokyo shopping district which, despite its name, offers a lot of Japanese dishes in addition to Western ones. It opens during usual business hours and closed during holidays and weekends. But secretly it is open on Saturdays, as on this particular day it creates doorways to another world inhabited by elves, dragons, animal men and other fantastic creatures, who enter the restaurant and partake on its menu, with all of them becoming regular patrons.

This evening’s Episode: “Minced Meat Cutlet / Fried Shrimp”

Following the diary entries of the deceased William, treasure hunter Sarah Gold goes searching in an abandoned mine for clues on “The Day of Satur” and its incredible treasure, and discovers a door to the Nekoya. In another part of the other world, Tatsugorou visits a knight named Heinrich Seeleman to deliver a sword he had left behind three years ago, when Heinrich first discovered the Nekoya.

retro series from 1982 – Ch?jik? Y?sai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)

In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.

This evening’s Episode: “Lynn Minmei”

With the fold systems now vanished, Captain Global and his crew come to a realization that the Macross must make a long journey back to Earth. The civilians from South Atalia Island – along with their shops and homes – are brought onto the ship. Meanwhile, Hikaru and Minmei are trapped within the confines of the Macross.

Lupin the Third – Part 4

The internationally infamous Arsène Lupin, master thief and unrepentant womanizer, continues to seek out ever more challenging heists to pull off. With him goes an eccentric band of misfits; Jigen the scruffy sharpshooter, Fujiko the femme fatal of dubious loyalty, and Goemon the stoic swordsman. And close on their heels no matter where Lupin and his gang end up, the unrelenting Inspector Zenigata. Determined to put Lupin and his cohorts in prison for the seemingly endless list burglaries and thefts they have already pulled off.

This evening’s Episode: “Welcome to the Haunted Hotel!”

Lupin and Jigen go looking for a treasure in an old castle, converted into an hotel, which is said to be haunted by a ghost. Here, Lupin must face an aged woman thief and her two sons, but is helped by a little girl, Carla, who claims to be the owner’s daughter.

In the distant future, the discovery of the new mineral Orichalt has allowed humanity to expand beyond the Sol System. On the constant lookout for Orichalt, humanity has developed I-Machines, robots that operate in extreme environments. I-Machines function by transferring a human pilot’s consciousness into the robot’s operating system. While Alliance Academy student Maya Mikuri is in the middle of operating an I-Machine, she gets involved in an incident with pirates, and ends up serving as a crew member on an excavation company’s spaceship.

Tonight’s Episode: “Cracking the Flair”

Addams discusses information with Urakuo Hakubi about Alice and her relationship to Orichalt. The Excavate team review the audio recording from the wrecked probe ship which suggests that the wandering planets are Orichalt collection devices constructed by an unknown civilization, possibly a secret kept by the Planet Federation.

Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho (Starting the Magical Book from Zero/Grimoire of Zero)

Zero is a witch who is ignorant of the world and travels with a half-beast half-human mercenary who longs to be human. Witches and their sorcery are notorious throughout the land, though knowledge of the existence of magic remains elusive. Zero is going on a journey to search for a magical tome called “The Book of Zero” that hides a power that can destroy the world. The mercenary travels with her as her guard.

Tonight’s Episode: “Plasta, the Royal Capital”

As Plasta prepares for a festival, the Mercenary is without a job, fired by Zero. He stops to help out a tavern girl, knocking out several selfish Beastfallen drunks. Then he is attacked by witches led by the werewolf Beastfallen from Formicum

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World)

Kazuma Satou wasn’t looking for anything beyond his simple high school shut-in existence. But one untimely death later and he finds himself before the goddess Aqua with the chance to be deposited in a fantasy kingdom that is in need of heroes to defeat a demon lord. Things don’t look good from the moment he arrives and so Kazuma decides to ditch the whole “save the world” thing and just try to become rich and live comfortably. Unfortunately, the various eccentric companions he is saddled with aren’t really helping with that goal.

This evening’s Episode: “A Second Death in This Freezing Season!”

Needing money to pay off his debts despite the freezing weather, Kazuma and his party takes on a quest to kill Snow Sprites. However, will Kazuma find a way to return to his own world?

Re: Creators

S?ta Mizushino is a young high school student and anime fan who dreams of writing his own light novel. While looking to an anime for inspiration, the iPad he is watching it on sputters and drags him into the anime’s world, where he witness a battle between the anime’s character Selesia and a mysterious girl wearing a military uniform. After returning with Selesia, S?ta discovers that other characters from different stories and forms of media were also brought to the real world, with some of them aligned with the military uniform girl, who promised them the ways to end the strife in their worlds and a way back home, unaware of her true intentions.

Tonight’s Episode: “Why We Travel I feel painful and so useless that I want to cry but it’s fun nevertheless.”

There are still some more creations appearing in the real world, but they don’t have to be powerful to be popular. Kikuchihara gathers together the staff behind each series at Nissan Stadium to inform them of the planned multimedia crossover project, Elimination Chamber Festival, which will culminate in an anime special titled Border World Colliseum that will lure out Altair.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Stardust Crusaders (Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure – Stardust Crusaders)

It’s 1989. Fifty odd years have passed since Joseph Joestar did battle with the immortal Pillar Men and now his Japanese grandson, Jotaro Kujo, finds his life turned upside down. A strange new ability awakens within his bloodline, granting him great power but threatening to kill his mother.

… An ancient enemy of the family has returned.

Tonight’s Episode: “DIO’s World, Part 3”

With only Jotaro and the injured Polnareff left to kill, and confident in The World’s superiority over Star Platinum, DIO stops time to try and finish Jotaro. However, it turns out that Star Platinum is more like the same type of Stand as The World than either realised.
