Event Afternoon before JAFWA screening

JAFWA has the hall from 12:30PM to 4:30PM, where it is make our own amusement time.

Does anybody have their own game machine and games they want their fellow JAFWAites to play? JAFWA will bring out the projector and screen. Can you talk Sally and Leanne into bringing sewing machines? Maybe some table tennis, freestyle?

These are just a couple of suggestion. What do you want to do? Just so long as it legal, ethical, and we don’t scuff the floor of the Hall.

Screening

The Equinox has come and gone, or perhaps I should say the Equisol, for now our old enemy the sun gains ascendancy. Soon we shall call upon Kris in the library to bring forth the sun disactivator! Now if only the nights were less chilly.

Three new regular series start this week, as voted in by our dear JAFWAite attendees. What will you vote for in the next survey?

Synopsis

Akagami no Shirayukihime – (Shirayuki (“Snow white”) princess of the red hair)

Shirayuki is a young pharmacist from the kingdom of Tanbarun who is cheerful, spirited and dedicated to her job. She also has brilliant red hair, which is very rare. When the first prince of Tanbarun decides to claim her unique beauty for himself, Shirayuki flees to the neighbouring kingdom of Clarines to start her life over. There may be eccentric nobility here as well, but there are also friends, and at least she can do her job.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Encounter … Changing the Colour of Fate”

Early morning is a fine time to be out in the woods collecting ingredients for your medicines, as long as you don’t lose track if time and aren’t late opening the shop. But on this day Shirayuki has bigger problems than being late for work; Prince Raj, the ruler of her town, desires a fair maiden to claim as his own. And his informants have named Shirayuki as the fairest, and thanks to her red hair the rarest, of maidens in all of Tanbarun.

Working!!! third series

The little restaurant of Wagnaria has a very eccentric staff that, against all odds, keep the place running and the customers coming back. Amidst the scheming assistant chef, the blasé boss, the katana wielding head waitress, the androphobe and the freeloader is Takanashi Souta, a high school student lured into working here by his obsession with anything small and cute … like waitress Taneshima Popura.

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Longest Night”

The head chef Satou-san has long had a crush on the head waitress Todoroko-san, but has never had the nerve to ask her out. Much to the despair of the scheming assistant chef. But now their scheduled days off co-incide, can Satou-san ask Todoroko-san out for a drink? Can Todoroko-san get useful advice on what to do on her first date?

Ore Monogatari! (My Love Story!)

Takeo Gouda is tall. No, Takeo Gouda is huge. He’s a high-schooler in a giant’s body. That’s been great for all the school sporting clubs he was part of, but less useful in his attempts to find love. But the real problem there is his handsome best friend Makoto Sunakawa, who ends up getting confessions from everyone Takeo likes. In fact it happens so often Takeo now expects it. And then one day, quite by accident, Takeo meets Rinko Yamato …

Tonight’s Episodes: “My Story”

It is the day of Takeo’s junior high graduation, and there are tears and emotions aplenty. The remaining members of his judo club are there to see him off, but Takeo rushes his goodbyes and takes off. There’s someone else at school he wants to see before he leaves. He has been working with Satou of the Student Council for some time now, and today he is finally going to tell her how he feels … or at least he was until he found Satou confessing to his best friend Makoto.

Dual and Dorothy are two programs who reside within the Box of Wisdom. Their job is to enter the various worlds containing the memories of people across many timelines, deleting worlds that become infected with viruses. One day they come across Remo, a girl with amnesia who is searching for something known as the flower.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Happy Birthday Time”

The government has contained Koro-sensei behind an anti-tentacle laser screen, and have forbidden the students of class 3-E from contacting him. But barricades of police and military will not prevent them crossing their home territory to reach their teacher. For today, 3 hours before the scheduled execution is a very special day they wish to celebrate with their sensei. Bring out the big surprise.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar (Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash)

Haruhiro awoke in this strange land with no memory of where he had come from or how he had got here. He and his companions were given little choice; serve in the militia defending the region from the various monsters or starve, and so they struggle to make a living as soldiers. There is nothing easy about this life and making ends meet is a challenge for six people who, it seems, had never held weapons before. Teamwork may be the only thing that can keep them alive, but for that they actually need to function as a team.

Haruhiro and friends, including Mary, are now sufficiently skilled and practised that they think they can now take on the goblin headquarters and get revenge for Manato’s death. Promise each other that you will all return alive.

Monsters from the deep have arrived in J city, declaring conquest of the land, and relegating humans to the dinner menu. Heroes shall rise to stand against them. But the trip from Z city to J city is long for Saitama and Genos, and they know not where the monsters are.

Gate: Jieitai Kano Chi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri (Gate: The Self Defence Forces Fight Like This in That Place)

Youji Itami is a 33-year old otaku. He loves anime and does his best to never miss a convention or product sale. Youji is also a member of Japan’s Self Defense Force. After an invasion of Tokyo from an alternate universe, Youji’s unit is sent through the gateway to this alternate dimension to push back the invaders, taking him away from his beloved anime and manga. But maybe this won’t be all bad … because this parallel universe is straight out of a fantasy manga.

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Imperial Capital Quake

Itami and the third recon squad work to assist Princess Pina with the aftermath of, what for jaded Japanese is, the medium level earthquake. But it leads to an official meeting between the Japanese and the Emperor, and a very, very angry Itami rescuing a damsel in distress.

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re: Life in a Different World from Zero)

Being teleported to a fantasy world means you’re the chosen one, right? Natsuki Subaru certainly thought so, but it seems he’s not the fated hero, he’s just another guy in a world full of wizards, warriors and demi-humans. Still, there are decent people in this world and Subaru quickly finds people willing to lend him a hand, people he wants to help in return. But how can a mere high school student hope to challenge the monstrous and magical forces of this world? After all he only gets one shot at this, right?
