Weekly Bulletin for Saturday 25th July, 2015

Below is the program for July 25th, 2015.

The AGM was last week and we thank all members who turned up before the JAFWA screening.
We also thank Matthew Guy, the only extra person who nominated for the election, who got in unopposed to fill fill the empty seat on the JAFWA committee. All praise your JAFWA overlords! (Remember, you too could have been receiving this praise if you had bothered to run for election) (what it is the emoticon for sticking your tongue out?)

And a reminder it is expected to be either chilly or wet this weekend, so remember to rug up warm and dry. Unless of course you think JAFWA starting two new regular series will keep you warm and happy. (They were so beloved the first time around)

Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic (Kiniro Mosaic, Season 2)

It’s Alice’s second year in Japan. Her second year living with Shino, going to school with Shino and being with Shino and all her other friends in Japan. It’s time for another year of fun.

Tonight’s Episodes:Spring is Here

Alice has sent a letter home to her mother. It’s the start of her second year in Japan. Shino and Alice are now high school students, whilst Shino’s older sister Isami has moved on to University. And whilst Alice and Shino are no longer in the same class, they still go to school with Aya and Youko, and Karen, Alice’s friend from England.

Kamisama Hajimemashita, 2nd Season

Momozono Nanami continues to serve as the Earth Deity of the Mikage Shrine, and the fox spirit Tomoe continues to serve as her familiar. Their feelings for each other are becoming harder to ignore, but Nanami’s duties as an Earth Deity won’t wait. And an old friend of Tomoe’s is starting to stir up trouble…

Tonight’s Episodes:I’ve Started the “Being a Deity” Thing Again

It’s the start of another school year and Nanami continues her dual life of high school student and local deity, whilst Tomoe continues his dual roles of familiar and housemaid to Nanami. Nanami has her suspicions that Tomoe still misses Mikage, the previous deity of the Shrine. But there’s no time to dwell on that thought, because Otohikogame, the flamboyant wind deity, has just let himself into Mikage Shrine to see Nanami.

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mages’ guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode:Small Fists

After Laxus wipes the floor with all five of them, Raven Tail is kicked out of the tournament for cheating. The ‘Anti-Fairy Tail’ Guild is pretty bad at their job. The next match is the freshly recovered Wendy, but Jellal and his guildmates sensed Zeref’s power before the fight began. The Wind Dragon Slayer Wendy is up against Lost Magic, the Wind God Slayer Chelia from Lamia Scale, and Jellal fears Wendy’s life may be in danger. And to make matters worse, in his rush to return to the arena the fugitive Jellal bumps into Doranbolt from the Wizard’s Council.

Log Horizon season 2

Life continues for Shiroe and the others trapped within the world of Elder Tale. The city of Akihabara is now prosperous and thriving thanks to the efforts and innovations of the adventurers. But prosperity does not guarantee safety, Shiroe’s skills have already been tested against the nefarious Nureha and her guild Plant Hwyaden, and now he must find a way to secure Akihabara’s future against those who would seek to claim it for themselves.

Tonight’s Episode:The Red Night

Rudy has now explained to Isuzu why her music is so popular with the people of the land. The natives of Elder Tale have only “the 42”; the songs of the game’s original musical score. They had no idea that other songs could exist, Isuzu has brought something completely new to their world. Tohya surprises the disguised Nureha by spotting her calm smile as being fake and Minori notices a side effect of the Odyssey Knight’s mobile temple; it blocks adventurer’s telepathy. Which could be a problem as the group is split up and a massive swarm of Wyverns is heading for the city.

Amagi Brilliant Park

Amagi Brilliant Park is an amusement park, a place of magical wonder and whimsy. Or at least it’s supposed to be. The park has fallen on hard times and that’s bad news for the staff. Who genuinely are magical. There’s no place for these oddballs from a fantasy world except an amusement park, so they need theirs to stay open. That’s where Kanie Seiya comes in, a pompous high school student and burned out child star is the perfect person to manage this particular mad-house.

Tonight’s Episodes:Not Enough People!

The investigation into Dornell’s Cave turns up an abandoned attraction, and its staff. The ‘treasure’, actually the finances of the Diggery Clan of mole-people, had already been squandered by Dornell in his ten year anime, manga and video games binge. Fortunately his collection of limited-edition merchandise sells for enough to keep the park afloat for now. But trouble is never far off for Amagi Brilliant Park; they still need more staff, Isuzu still lacks confidence in her position as Kanie’s secretary, and Macaron and Tiramie have just received a shipment of magic fruit …

preview – Ghost in the Shell: Arise – Alternative Architecture

Having shed her ties to the military and its spec-ops 501 organisation, Motoko Kusanagi now finds herself trying to establish an independent Special Forces unit without being leashed to Public Security under the command of Daisuke Aramaki. Both must work together to prove their worth to the government whilst at the same time striving for opposing goals.

Sword Art Online 2

It has been a year since the victims of Alfheim Online were freed from their virtual prison, and more than a year since Sword Art Online was shut down. But Virtual Gaming has not died, instead it’s bigger and better than ever. For Kirito and his friends there are many places to see and people to meet in the online world.

Tonight’s Episode:Beginning of a Dream

Yuuki is a child of the virtual world in a very real sense. Having contracted AIDS from a pre-natal blood transfusion she has spent her life in intensive care and the last three years solely in the virtual world. But medical care cannot change the fact that her condition is terminal, just like all the other members of her guild. This is the reason the Sleeping Knights are disbanding … two more members have been given three months to live. But Asuna isn’t satisfied with that. Yuuki has at least one other thing she’s always wanted to do, and Asuna is going to make that happen.

Movie – Rakuen Tsuiho (Expelled from Paradise)

Angela Balzac is a skilled security operative in DEVA, a virtual reality world that houses the bulk of humanity. Her perfect world is being invaded by a mysterious hacker known only as “Frontier Setter” who beams messages to the residents in an attempt to gather allies. The governing body of DEVA decides to send a team of agents to deal with this mystery hacker who is hiding somewhere on Earth, a world that has become little more than a wasteland. So, to protect her perfect reality, Angela must enter the real world with all its trials and tribulations. But what will she make of the earth-bound ally assigned to help her? How will she deal with the other people who continue to live on the planet? And what will she find when she finally tracks down Frontier Setter?
