PANIC General meeting

The PANIC committee would like to announce their next General Meeting, on the 11th of July 2015 at 2pm. The meeting will be held as usual at 43 Below.

The topics of the day’s agenda will be reports from the Supanova weekend, the current state of the audit, and our next upcoming event, the PAniC Quiz Night, in August.

If you would like to submit anything for discussion, please email it to vp@panic-wa.org. Due to the circumstances described above, we shall be allowing late admittance to the agenda up until 12pm Friday the 10th of July.

Synopsis

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mages’ guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode: “Laxus vs Alexei“

Erza gives the crowd one hell of a show and ploughs through all 100 of the monsters in the Pandemonium challenge. Fairy Tail has now moved from the team getting the most boos and jeers to the team getting the most cheers. With all of the monsters destroyed the other contestants compare magical power to determine their ranking in the challenge, and Cana gets a sneaky power boost from the first Guild Master that nets Fairy Tail first and second place. But now it’s the battle part of the day’s events, and Raven Tail are going to carry out their true purpose in the games …

Log Horizon season 2

Life continues for Shiroe and the others trapped within the world of Elder Tale. The city of Akihabara is now prosperous and thriving thanks to the efforts and innovations of the adventurers. But prosperity does not guarantee safety, Shiroe’s skills have already been tested against the nefarious Nureha and her guild Plant Hwyaden, and now he must find a way to secure Akihabara’s future against those who would seek to claim it for themselves.

Tonight’s Episode: “Odyssey Knights“

Problems continue to simmer in Akihabara; DDD is slowly losing members with Crusty still missing, whilst Ein’s guild Honesty is being flooded with lazy, unproductive moochers that no other guild wants. Minori and her friends also run into problems on their quest for the Magic Bag ingredients, getting into a fight beyond their level whilst trying to protect some villagers. But they are saved by an unexpected arrival, a strangely familiar-looking summoner called Roe 2.

Machiko Ryo has lived alone for quite some time, convinced her cooking skills were getting worse and the delicious recipes her grandmother taught her were not being done justice. And then she meets her cousin Morino Kirin, and the spirited and self-confident girl helps her realize that meals are the most delicious when you have loved ones to share them with.

Tonight’s Episode: “First Course – Toasty and Crispy”

Ryo crafts her recipes with patience and care, carefully following the instructions of her grandmother. But the results just aren’t very tasty, which is depressing. Ryo is pretty certain that if she can’t cook, her future looks bleak. But her misery is interrupted by a call from her aunt Akira. She has a cousin, Morino Kirin, who wants to come to an Art Prep School in Japan, the same one Ryo attends in fact, and it would be a great help if she could stay with Ryo for the weekend.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom)

The students of Class 3E are the lost causes of Kunugigaoka Junior High. But they have been given one last chance to redeem themselves. Their new teacher is not human, he’s a monster that blew a hole through the moon and now threatens to do the same to Earth in twelve months’ time. If the students can manage to kill him before then, they get 10 billion yen and the gratitude of the worlds’ governments. So, it’s time to assassinate the teacher! Which is kind of a shame, because he’s a really good teacher.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Exam Time”

As Koro-sensei continues to help his students improve in both school work and assassination skills, this time the chemistry wiz Okuda, his changes and the presence of all three Class-E teachers at the school-wide assembly shakes up the status quo quite a bit. So much so that the principal gets involved. In his mind Class-E exists solely to motivate the other students, they aren’t supposed to enjoy themselves and they certainly aren’t supposed to do well.

Amagi Brilliant Park

Amagi Brilliant Park is an amusement park, a place of magical wonder and whimsy. Or at least it’s supposed to be. The park has fallen on hard times and that’s bad news for the staff. Who genuinely are magical. There’s no place for these oddballs from a fantasy world except an amusement park, so they need theirs to stay open. That’s where Kanie Seiya comes in, a pompous high school student and burned out child star is the perfect person to manage this particular mad-house.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Not Enough PA Productivity!”

Kanie is already justifying his appointment as park manager, extending the park’s opening hours and slashing prices to attract customers, in spite of everyone else’s objections, and managing to turn Moffle’s annual punch-up with an obnoxious guest into a PR boost rather than a PR nightmare (magical memory wiping bullets also help). But dragging Princess Latifa out of the magically shielded castle for a sexy promotion video may not have been his best idea … because the princess has collapsed.

D-Frag! OAV

Kazama Kenji goal in life was simple; become a famous and feared delinquent. Instead he finds himself mixed up with his school’s struggling Game Development club and its various … eccentric … members. Yet the harder he tries to get away from them, the more he finds himself running into the other crazies in his school.

Tonight’s Episode: “Water”

With the former student council defeated and the club saved, life for Kazama returns to … what passes for normal in the Game Dev Club (Provisional). When he and Sakura end up being the only ones left in the club room one afternoon she plays video games against him, offering secrets about Roka and Chitose to keep him there until his little sister drags him away. But it seems Sakura enjoyed their little match enough to show up at Kenji’s house uninvited and ask him and his sister for help.

Sword Art Online 2

It has been a year since the victims of Alfheim Online were freed from their virtual prison, and more than a year since Sword Art Online was shut down. But Virtual Gaming has not died, instead it’s bigger and better than ever. For Kirito and his friends there are many places to see and people to meet in the online world.

Tonight’s Episode: “Swordsman’s Memorial“

It turns out the guild that has beaten the Sleeping Knights to the last few boss fights has actually be spying on their practice runs in order to learn the bosses’ patterns and weaknesses, and is now camped out at the boss room in order to block them once again. Yuuki has no problems solving this dispute through violence, but the Sleeping Knights can’t afford to use up all their resources (or lose members) in a battle just before the Boss, and their underhanded opponents have reinforcements arriving. Fortunately, Asuna has some reinforcements of her own

Akame ga Kill (Red-Eye Kill)

Tatsumi was hoping to find enough money in the capital to save his poverty stricken village, what he found instead was corruption and slaughter. The prime minister is the power behind the throne, manipulating the infant emperor for his own gain, and the common folk of the empire suffer under his reign. A group of assassins known as Night Raid prowl the city, leaving a trail of corpses in their wake. But as Tatsumi quickly discovers, they may be the only hope the empire has.

Tonight’s Episode: “Kill the Battle Fanatic“

Bulat has lost his life in the battle with his former commander, General Liver. However, Esdeath’s three loyal servants have now all been killed, Night Raid’s name cleared, and Tatsumi has successfully bonded with Bulat’s Imperial Arm, Incursio. But although the group has lost another member, they have regained one as well. Mine has recovered from the wounds the fanatical Seryu inflicted on her and is again ready for active duty.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

Shirou Emiya, a high school student and amateur magus living in Fuyuki City, finds himself a participant in the Fifth Holy Grail War. A secret tournament between mages and their servants, reincarnated heroes and legendary figures, to claim the Holy Grail; a chalice that can grant any wish.

Tonight’s Episode: “Mirage”

Shirou’s disregard for the danger of travelling without his Servant finally proves too much for Rin, and she attacks him after school. But their fight is interrupted when they discover a Servant at the school draining the students of their life force to increase its power. Shirou saves Rin from a sneak attack and she returns the favour after he goes after the Servant alone. The experience convinces Rin that this Servant and her hidden master are a bigger threat, especially since Shirou isn’t even a properly trained mage, and the two agree to a temporary alliance until they are deal with.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure)

The Joestar’s are a wealthy English family, but one with a dark fate. Ever since the days of Jonathon Joestar and his adopted brother Dio Brando, and the succession struggle that came about from Dio’s greed, the Joestar family line has found itself embroiled in supernatural horror and world-threatening ambition. And it always falls to the current Jojo, whoever it may be, to stop the madness.

Tonight’s Episode: “Time with Dio”

Although it nearly cost him his life, Dio has now discovered the dark hidden power of the stone mask; it turns its wearer into a vampire. Unfortunately for Dio, he seems to have exhausted all his good luck surviving the attacks of his stone mask test subject. Jonathon did not die in his trip through the rough back-alleys of London, and even worse, he has returned with proof of Dio’s plot to murder Jonathon’s father in order to claim the estate for himself.
