Weekly Bulletin for Saturday 6th June, 2015

There is no JAFWA screening this week. It is the usual first Saturday of the month off.

But despair not for JAFWA returns on Saturday 13th June. And we shall have a new regular series start.

Also, consdier nominating for the annual election to the board of JAFWA.
Ask yourself, do I love JAFWA? And do I want to lord it over my fellow otaku?

Dates of Interest

  • Saturday June 6th – in accordance to the motion passed at the PANIC SGM, the next GM is being held on the 6th of June 2015 at 43 Below, from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm.
  • Saturday June 20th – JAFWA’s next Event Afternoon, where we have the hall before JAFWA (from ~12:30PM to ~4:30PM) and make our own entertainment.
  • July 18th – JAFWA AGM and elections to the JAFWA committee. Please consider nominating.

Ninth International MANGA Award

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan launched the International Manga Award in 2007 to further international exchange and mutual understanding through manga, and to recognise artists who have contributed to the promotion of manga overseas. Entries for the Ninth International Manga Award will be accepted from April 27-June 12, 2015. Winners will be invited to the award ceremony in Japan and have the chance to meet with Japanese manga creators and visit publishing companies. Click here for more details.
