Screening

Event Afternoon – We have the Hall from 1PM so it is make your own amusement time.
Regrettably Sally is in South Australia and won’t be here to help make your own cosplay costumes.

Below is the program for September 27th, 2014.

MOVIE NIGHT – Tonight’s movie is the movie sequel to “Lupin the 3rd vs Detective Conan” that JAFWA showed last year. Dress up as either a Lupin III or Detective Conan character for free entry!

For those of you unfamiliar with the two long running franchises, check out Detective Conan and Lupin III. But otherwise have fun and appreciate the cultural impact of the two long running franchises.

And while “Log Horizon” finishes screening at JAFWA this week, remember it is only the first season of the anime. The second series will begin screening in Japan next month.
None the less, we shall have a special survey during the Dinner Break to help decide what to show till the end of the year, and maybe even unto 2015.

Synopsis

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode:The Man without the Mark

Zeref is once again awake, and disappointed that Natsu was unable to end his life before he was again forced to take part in the destruction of the world. Together Gray, Erza, Natsu and the others made their way into Grimoire Heart’s vessel and did battle with Master Hades, but they were no match for him. But just as it looked like Natsu was to become the first casualty, a familiar face appeared in a bolt of lightning. Laxus has arrived to pay back the man that beat up his grandfather.

Log Horizon

Elder Tale is an MMO with over twenty million players world wide. When a new expansion is added to the game, Shiro and his friends find themselvers amongst the several hundred thousand players across the world that are now literally trapped inside the game.

Tonight’s Episode:The Libra Festival” finale

Having sewn chaos in the Libra festival to discredit the alliance between Eastal and the Round Table, Lord Marves now sets about publicly humiliating Princess Lenissia. The utter randomness of his attacks initially left Shiroe unable to plan a counterattack, until a chance encounter with Soujirou and the West Wind Brigade gave him inspiration. But now Shiroe has arrived at the banquet hall along with several other members of the Round Table to confront the Westlandian noble.

Samurai Flamenco

He started as an enthusiastic amateur, grew into a trained hero with high tech gadgets, and now he leads a team of heroes backed by a giant robot. Hazama Masayoshi’s childhood dream of becoming the hero Samurai Flamenco has been fulfilled and then some. Of course, to be a hero you need villains to fight. But there seems to be no shortage of candidates lining up for that role …

Tonight’s Episode:Teaching Love

The Flamengers have all been attacked, Harazuka was pushed down a flight of stairs and Kaname was hit by a truck. But still, Hazama is the only one who believes Sawada Heiji is responsible, indeed Hazama is the only one who has even seen Sawada Heiji. His falling out with Gotou will have to wait, Hazama must deal with this first. But when he calls Mari before Triple M’s big concert, she thinks it should be the other way around. That Hazama should deal with Gotou and his imaginary girlfriend first.

Movie: Detective Conan vs Lupin III

When Kaito Kid makes another daring theft, stealing a fabulous diamond, Edogawa Conan is quickly on his trail. But this Kaito is not the real deal, and Conan’s pursuit is foiled by a katana-wielding accomplice. Kid was impersonated by the equally infamous thief Arsene Lupin III. But why the disguise? Why steal a diamond he clearly has no interest in? What is Lupin truly after? Detective Conan is on the case!

Genshiken Nidaime (Genshiken Second Season)

The old guard have graduated and now only Ogiue, Ohno and Kuchiki remain. As a new year begins Genshiken is once again infused with new members, who bring with them their own quirks, tastes and personal baggage with which to befuddle, bemuse and entertain the rest of the club. The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture (Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyukai, abbreviated as Gen Shi Ken) is back.

Tonight’s Episode:Love Story Times Three

Yaegashi has smoothed over the awkwardness between Hato and Marame, and Rika has made another failed attempt to peek inside Hato’s pants, resulting in Yaegashi getting an eyeful instead. The three arrive at the clubhouse to find Ogiue getting a pep talk from her boyfriend (and former Genshiken president) Sasahara Kanji, after her latest manga got trashed by online critics. But with that out of the way it’s time to focus on the club’s plans for the upcoming Fair.

Gokukoku no Brynhildr (Brynhildr in the Darkness)

As a young boy, Ryouta Murakami cost a dear friend her life. A mistake he has never forgiven himself for. To this day he seeks to verify his lost friend’s belief in the existence of aliens. But when a strange girl shows up at his school, a girl who bears an uncanny resemblance to his dead friend, Ryouta’s attention is pulled away from the stars to face the dark secrets this new girl brings with her.

Tonight’s Episode:Fragment of Hope

Kikako was defeated, through the use of Kotori’s teleportation power. The Stargazing club now consists of five members, but four of them are still living on borrowed time. To try and fix that Ryouta has visited Kogorou, an eccentric professor at Shinano University who agrees to help them after a dramatic display of Kuroha’s magic. Ryouta has two tasks for him; reproduce their life-extending pills and figure out exactly what is inside the capsule Kuroha gave him. The first may well prove impossible, but the second intrigues Kogorou tremendously.

Kill la Kill

Ryuko Matoi is a girl on a mission; to find the person responsible for her father’s death. Her search has led her to Honnouji Academy, a brutal, totalitarian school where the student council, led by Satsuki Kiryuin and empowered by their Ultima Uniforms, rule over everyone else. Ryuko quickly finds herself at odds with Satsuki’s dictatorship, but aid comes to Ryuko both from unexpected allies within the school … and a set of skimpy talking clothes.

Tonight’s Episode:Imitation Gold

Although a … disarmed … Nui was saved from Ryuuko’s wrath, the reinforcements sacrificed to get her resulted in more allies for the good guys and the materials for new Ultima Uniforms. With Ragyou and the original Life Fibre closing in on Honnouji Academy, and even more monstrous COVERS deployed to stop the Nudist Beach flagship, it is the perfect stage for the glorious return of Fight Club President Mankanshoku Mako. But as they battle to stop Ragyou, the damaged Grand Couturier rushes to complete her final masterpiece … the Shinra Kouketsu.
