Synopsis

Nodame Cantabile: Finale

Nodame, Chiaki and their friends continue their careers in the world of music; Chiaki striving for greatness as a conductor, and Nodame striving to equal his talent so as not to be left behind. Chiaki is now a professional conductor, and Nodame is attending an elite musical school in France. For Chiaki his professional life has begun, for Nodame the moment of truth is fast approaching.

Tonight’s Episode: “Lesson 1“

Nodame and several other students in her apartment are practicing on the piano. Nodame however comes to a sudden stop when she realizes she is going to be late for Chiaki’s next performance. The next day, Chiaki calls Nina. She has read of the success of his concert in the paper and congratulates him warmly. She also offers piano lessons. Nodame, meanwhile, is recounting the success of the concert to her piano teacher. But when he goes to start the lesson she first asks that they make preparations for her to enter a competition at some point.

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode: “I’m Standing Here“

The duel between the two Erza’s has ended, neither has the strength to continue, and the Edolas Fairy Tail guild has joined the battle on the side of their Earthland counterparts. But King Faust still stands, encased within the massive Droma Anim, and is winning his battle against Natsu, Gajeel and Wendy. He demands that all the Earthland mages submit and have their power drained for the glory of his kingdom, boasting that as long as he has Droma Anim his army will never be defeated.

Uchyuu Kyoudai (Space Brothers)

As kids Mutta and Hibito Nanba made a promise, that they would both become astronauts. 19 years later Hibito is on the verge of fulfilling that promise but Mutta is not doing nearly so well, that is until he is accepted into Japan’s astronaut training program.

NOTE: decision time – should we continue screening “Space Brothers”for the full 64 episodes, or take a break at the end of the current story arc.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Worst Possible Punishment“

Inside team A’s sealed container Serika is making an entry in her diary, today is their last day inside. She reflects on what life has been like over the course of the third exam, and ends with a request for her father to cheer her on. Yasuda is also writing in a notebook, but his is not a diary. He has been recording performance scores for everyone and he is not thrilled with the results. He closes the book and instead turns his attention to a printout of an email and reply he wrote to Professor Baba Hiroto, someone that inspired him to try and become an astronaut.

Preview – Servant X Service

Welcome to the world of the government employee. Join Miyoshi, Hasebe and Yamagami as they begin their careers working as civil servants, and discover what life is like dealing with both the people who come to the government for assistance, and their co-workers who are supposed to provide that assistance.

Tonight’s Episode: “Be Careful About How You Refer to Someone and Why“

New Welfare Administrative Section recruit … Ms Yamagami, is introducing herself to her co-workers. Alongside her are Hasebe Yutaka starting in the First Section of the Welfare Department and Miyoshi Saya who will be in the Second Section. Their supervisor is Ichimiya Taishi, who was himself a new recruit not all that long ago. Their first day on the job starts with a quick tour and Q&A, then … Ms Yamagami, is off to her department to meet the person who will be showing her the ropes, Chihaya Megumi.

Hataraku Maou-sama! (The Devil is a Part-Timer)

Having been thwarted in his attempts to conquer Ente Isla, the mighty demon lord Satan escapes through a portal with his general Alsiel… And winds up in modern day Tokyo with very little magical power left. His resources for world domination now consist of a tiny rented apartment and a job at a fast food restaurant.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Dark Lord Climbs the Stairs to School“

Mao and Ashiya have gone out to celebrate Mao’s new promotion at MgRonalds. Lucifer, having been soundly beaten for trying to kill then, is now living with them and using the name Urushihara. But Ashiya would like to see him punished further. Urushihara has discovered the internet, and with it endless ways to of wasting their meagre income. Meanwhile, in Ente Isla, Church High Officials are receiving a report on Mao and his activities in Japan. It seems Archbishop Orba lied to everyone about the fate of Satan and The Hero Emi, and now they must decide what to do about it.

Suisei no Gargantia (Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet)

Galactic Alliance soldier Ledo faces a huge change in lifestyle and outlook when he is separated from his comrades and forced to make his way aboard the Gargantia, a floating city greatly removed from both the technology and the concerns of his home.

Tonight’s Episode: “A Soldier’s Duty“

In the midst of his first salvage operation, Ledo has encountered Hideauze on Earth. Bellows orders him not to attack, but Ledo knows only one response to the enemy of the Galactic Human Alliance. In spite of the interference being underwater has on his weapon systems he utterly annihilates his enemy. The reaction back on Gargantia is bad. Although merely superstition whalesquids are considered sacred, and killing one is believed to bring down a curse. While the bulk of Gargantia’s populace are either shocked or scared, Pinion seems almost pleased …

Sword Art Online

VR technology has made full-immersion video games possible, and the latest and greatest is Sword Art Online. But the players who logged in on the first day find that logging back out may be a lot harder, and the challenges of the game more than they bargained for.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Lugru Corridor“

In the Lugru Corridor, neutral territory within Alfheim Online, Leafa and Kirito are making their way towards the World Tree, with Kirito learning more about the powers available to him as a Spriggan. As they walk and talk, Leafa gets a message from another player warning her to be careful, then Yui informs Kirito of a large group of approaching players. Although initially trying to hide from them Leafa is forced to destroy a tracker, revealing them to their pursuers and leaving no option but to run for the nearest town.

Shin Sekai Yori (From the New World)

A thousand years into the future all mankind possesses psychic powers, and the people live in idyllic splendor. But the path that led to this tranquil life was not so perfect, and the world that Saki and her friends live in may not be as gentle and pleasant as it seems.

Tonight’s Episode: “Fires of the Apocalypse“

Saki has made it back to the village, which is now a wreck. Niimi has instructed her to head for the temple of purity. At that moment Kaburagi appears to calm the survivors, yet as he descends the ground beneath him and the other assembled humans explodes. When the smoke clears Kaburagi is unharmed, although he berates himself for not being able to save everyone else present and once again pledges to wipe out the entire queerat race. Yet just as Kaburagi seems set to turn the tide of the battle, the Fiend appears …

Tonight’s Episode: “Sweet Poisob“

At a streetside pharmacy, a man in a strange helmet enters the building and proceeds through into the staff area and gives the nearest staff member a list of medicines he wants. When he’s told they cannot distribute psychotropic substances he takes out a pair of scissors and murders the staff member. His female collegue cries out for help, but no-one hears them in the sound-proofed room. Even the security system does nothing to stop the attacks. The Bureau are called in but Akane is having doubts, the last time she held a Dominator it did nothing to save her friend’s life.
