Event Afternoon and Screening on Saturday 25^th May 2019

Event Afternoon before JAFWA Screening

JAFWA has the hall from about 1PM to 4:30PM, where it is make our own amusement time.

Does anybody have their own game machine and games they want their fellow JAFWAites to play? JAFWA will bring out the projector and screen. I am not certain we have access to the outdoor area, but we will try to keep you off the street.
In the past people have brought along video games and the hardware to play them, and sewing machines for cosplay creating. What do you want to do? Just so long as it fun, legal, ethical, and we don’t scuff the floor of the Hall.

Screening

Below is the program for the evening of Saturday May 25^th, 2019.

Our end of month screening, which means we will have a monthly survey to see what has been approved by our dear JAFWAites, and our monthly Member’s Prize draw.
We also say farewell this week to “Lupin III”, as well as chibi “Overlord”.

Forgot to mention that at Innaloo Event Cinemas they are showing Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;surrection, with subbed and dubbed versions on different nights.

A reminder that the JAFWA AGM and committee elections are coming up in July. Time to start thinking of your election pitches and how you will overlord it when you get elected to the JAFWA committee. Though for legal liability purposes, we can’t let eligible people forget to vote in the Federal Election – try to aim for the least worse candidates.

Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue (My Housemate Is on My Lap, But Sometimes, on My Head)

Subaru, a 23-year-old introverted mystery writer, who adopts the cat Haru by chance. While he initially remains distant, they gradually bond with each other. Haru and Subaru rarely understand each other, but their misunderstandings lead to a common goal.

This evening’s Episode: “I Call to You ”

Life with his new cat presents problems for Subaru, including sleeping on his laptop. On a run to get more cat food, the clerk Nana Ookami asks a simple question – what is the cat’s name? A question that will be difficult to answer. From the cat’s point of view, having a good place to sleep and plenty of food is prominent. How does this current life compare to the earlier time on the streets?

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime)

Living alone and never having had a girlfriend, 37-year-old Satoru Mikami is dissatisfied with how his life has turned out. But after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a new world…as the lowest of the low – a slime monster.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Great Clash ”

En-route to the anti-orc alliance metting with the Lizardman, Rimuru’s group come across Gabiru’s sister, who informs them of Gabiru’s coup d’etat and asks them to rescue the chieftain and save the lizardmen. Meanwhile, Gabiru and his troop find themselves cornered after the orcs eat one of the soldiers and it gains their powers.

One Punch Man season 2

An increase in villain activity has the Hero Organization worried that the “Earthdoom prophecy” will soon come to pass. In an effort to alleviate the overworked heroes, they turn to villains themselves for help. The decision looks ill-advised as at least one villain is more interested in helping the prophecy along than preventing it. Meanwhile, the invincible Saitama is still bored, trying to find a decent challenge.

This evening’s Episode: “The Hunt Begins ”

Now that Silver Fang’s previous apprentice Garou has returned and declared that he will become a human monster, Silver Fang closes his dojo and ejects his remaining student Charanko. Charanko decides to air his sorrows at Saitama’s apartment. Meanwhile Garou has begun hunting heroes. Saitama finally becomes intrigued by the power of martial arts.

Lupin the Third – Part V

The series is set in modern-day France, and follows the thief Arsène Lupin III, and his associates the marksman Daisuke Jigen, the swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII, the con artist Fujiko Mine along with his nemesis Inspector Koichi Zenigata, and are joined by the Ami Enan, a teenage hacker.

Tonight’s Episode: “Viva Lupin III ” finale

When Enzo refuses to take down Lupin’s PeopleLog posts, the United States and its allies launch an all-out attack on Shake Handz to prevent a worldwide political crisis. Calling on the aid of his old friends Rebecca Rosselini and Diana Archer, Lupin storms the Shake Handz headquarters to save Fujiko and Ami.

Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari)

Naofumi Iwatani was summoned into a parallel world along with three other people to become the world’s Heroes. Each of the heroes were respectively equipped with their own legendary equipment when summoned. Naofumi happened to receive the Legendary Shield, the sole defensive equipment, while the others received weapons capable of attacking. Unlike the other heroes who are fully supported by the kingdom and gain several strong allies each, Naofumi’s luck turns to the worse, shunned by everyone from the King to peasants, Naofumi is forced to train as a hero alone while working to make ends meet acquiring only the most pitiful of followers. As he little by little gain the trust and gratitude of the people with their heroic actions, Naofumi and his companions work hard to fulfill their mission as saviors of the world, while unraveling its deepest secrets.

Tonight’s Episode: “Lullaby at Dawn ”

After repelling the Wave of Catastrophe, the Heroes are treated to a state dinner, which Naofumi reluctantly attends, as he still can’t taste anything but the bitter taste of his earlier betrayal. Myne informs Motoyasu that Raphtalia is a slave, prompting him to duel Naofumi for her freedom. Several things are revealed in the battle between Shield and Spear, including a conspiracy and Raphtalia’s true feelings.

Dororo

From Osamu Tezuka’s beloved manga. During the 1470s after the Wars of Onin and Bunmei in the Noto Peninsula of the Hokuriku District, Hyakkimaru, who lacks as much as 48 body parts, obtains a fake body and eliminates 48 monsters that were made from his body to retrieve his missing body parts, and regain his humanity.

This evening’s Episode: “The Story of Jukai ”

In flashback we see the story of Jukai-sensei, a doctor who not only healed the sick, but also made prostheses for those who had lost limbs in accidents or war. For it is he who found Lord Kagemitsu Daigo’s abandoned and deformed infant on a riverbank, gave hime prosthetics to appear normal, and the name Hyakkimaru.

Sword Art Online: Alicization

Kazuto has been recruited to assist in testing an experimental FullDive machine, Soul Translator (STL), which has an interface that is far more realistic and complex than the previous machine he had played to help develop an artificial intelligence for the Ministry of Defense (MOD) named A.L.I.C.E. He tests the STL by entering a virtual reality cyberspace created with The Seed package, named UnderWorld (UW). In the UW, the flow of time proceeds a thousand times faster than in the real world, and Kirito’s memories of what happens inside are restricted.

Tonight’s Episode: “Truce ”

Eugeo and Kirito’s battle with Knight Alice has knocked a hole in the outside wall and flung Kirito and Alice outside the tower. With Kirito and Alice dangling along the wall of the church, Alice reluctantly agrees to work with Kirito to climb up to floor 95 where they can re-enter. Kirito attempts to tell Alice about her true past and the truth about Administrator, but minions from the Dark Territory may interfere. Meanwhile Eugeo woill have his own problems.

Overlord season 3

With his foundations now set in this new world, the first steps of Ains Ooal Gown’s master plan apparent begin to come to fruition. The value of Carne village and especially the political value of his alter ego Momon are reaffirmed; the “hidden” genius of his actions is continuously met with shock and awe by Demiurge, Albedo, the rest of his guardians, and even Ains himself at his “great wisdom.” His attempts to act in a way befitting the ruler of Nazarick, continuing to further cement his guardian’s loyalty, push him ever further down the path of not-so-intentional world domination. Without human conscience due to being undead, he is motivated only to continue searching for other players from Yggdrasil and to gain power to better protect the children and home of him and his forty former companions. Lord Ains Ooal Gown maintains his mantle of Overlord and leads the Great Tomb of Nazarick unto the world stage, directly into a vicious power struggle between two great empires.

Tonight’s Episode: “Enri’s Upheaval and Hectic Days ”

Enri, Nfirea, and the Goblin Troop bring Agu to Carne Village to inform them of the situation in the Great Forest: sometime ago, the Monument of Ruin was being built and guarded by Undead, and after the Great Beast of the South (Hamsuke) vanished, the Giant of the East allies himself with the Demon Snake of the West to defeat whoever this master of the Undead may be.

Attack On Titan (Shingeki ni Kyojin) season 3

Eren and his companions in the 104th are assigned to the newly-formed Levi Squad, whose assignment is to keep Eren and Historia safe given Eren’s newly-discovered power and Historia’s knowledge and pedigree. Levi and Erwin have good reason to be concerned, because the priest of the Church that Hange had hidden away was found tortured to death, making it clear that the Military Police are involved with the cover-up. Things get more harrowing when the MPs make a move on Erwin and the Levi Squad narrowly avoids capture.

Tonight’s Episode: “Old Story ”

In a flashback, Historia tells the Scouts of her upbringing on the Reiss estate in the region of Wall Rose, her estrangement from her parents, the execution of her mother by Kenny and then being hidden as Krista Lenz. In the present, Rod heads back to his family estate with the captives Historia and Eren while Hange explains to the Scouts that Eren will be eaten to acquire his Titan powers and abilities.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Ougen no Kaze (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Golden Wind)

Set in 2001, two years after the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Koichi Hirose is sent to Italy and tasked by Jotaro Kujo to search for Giorno Giovanna, an aspiring mafia gangster who is a son of Dio Brando. But as Dio possessed the body of Jonathan Joestar at time of his conception, Giorno is technically a Joestar and takes more after them than the father he never knew. The series follows Giorno as he joins the mafia organization Passione, moving up through its ranks with the intention of becoming its boss to improve life in Italy.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Grateful Dead, part 2 ”

To save his team from old age, Bucciarati has flung himself and Prosciutto off the train. However this plan may go to pieces as Pesci uses Beach Boy’s line to hook and rescue Prosciutto. The Hitmen are nothing if not resourceful, and Bucciarati will be pushed to the limit. Meanwhile Trish has awoken as a Stand user.
