Below is the program for the evening of Saturday March 16^th, 2019. The Equinox is rapidly approaching, and we found last week that we did not need Kris’ Sun Deactivator.

This week we resume showing a preview episode of some different anime, and neko-philes may like it. This is a write-in suggestion. The JAFWA committee also likes the other write in suggestion, and will preview it next week.
Also, due to scheduling issues we will have two episode of “Lupin III” to steal your attention from the fact that once again the subtitlers of Jojo have deliberately change the names of the Stands to hide the rock band homages.
And we say good bye to the second series of “Overlord”. There is a third series if our membership is interested.

JAFWA will be doing a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser on Saturday May 4^th, 2019. Volunteers to help will be appreciated.

Irozuka Sekai no Ashita kara (Iroduku: The World in Colours)

In Nagasaki, a descendant of mages, 17-year-old Hitomi lost her sense of colour at a young age and grew up lacking emotion. Her grandmother Kohaku, a great mage, sends Hitomi 60 years into the past, to the year 2018. There, she spends time with a 17-year-old Kohaku and friends from school club activities.

This evening’s Episode: “The Burden of Venus ”

After a brief colourul night, Hitomi’s sense of colours is gone again. As the third-years Yamabuki and Kurumi prep for exams, they entrust summer break camp planning to the next president Asagi and vice-president Hitomi. However, Chisuga accidentally brings up Kurumi’s older sister, who works as a famous pastry chef in a shop called Multique Roll, which triggers Kurumi’s inferiority complex against her.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These (aka Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Die Neue These Kaikou)

In humanity’s distant future, two interstellar states – the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance – are embroiled in a never-ending war. The story focuses on the exploits of rivals Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li as they rise to power and fame in the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance respectively.

This evening’s Episode: “The Capture of Iserlohn, part 1 ”

Newly promoted Yang Wen-li has command over the newly assembled 13th Fleet, made of survivors of the Battle of Astarte and raw recruits. Wielding them into a fighting force will require an elite team to aid him. Can he trust them all? But to capture the impregnable fortress of Iserlohn will require thinking outside the cube.

Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous)

In a possibly future Earth inhabited by jewels that take the form of people, Phosphophyllite (Phos) is weak (with one of the lowest hardnesses) and considered useless by their peers. Phos asks their aloof but wise colleague Cinnabar for help after they receive an assignment to create a history encyclopedia, thus begin their friendship and personal growth. Meanwhile, the “jewel people” have to keep defending themselves against the Lunarians who want to take advantage of their luxury value.

This evening’s Episode: “Antarcticite ”

With Antarcticite unable to find Phos’s missing arms, Master Kongou instructs them to go to the Chord Shore where Lustrous are born for replacement material. Phos is given a gold arm as an intended temporary replacement, but it starts to grow out of control and engulfs them just as more Lunarians appear.

Preview Item – Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue (My Housemate Is on My Lap, But Sometimes, on My Head)

Subaru, a 23-year-old introverted mystery writer, who adopts the cat Haru by chance. While he initially remains distant, they gradually bond with each other. Haru and Subaru rarely understand each other, but their misunderstandings lead to a common goal.

Tonight’s Episode: “An Encounter with the Unknown ”

While visiting his parents’ grave, novelist Subaru Mikazuki has a chance encounter with a stray cat and brings it home to live with him. He watches the cat behave in unexpected ways leading him to come up with all kinds of ideas for his next novel to share with his new editor, Atsushi Kawase. While working nonstop on his novel to meet a deadline, the cat starts scattering food on the ground and scratching the door to his room.

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime)

Living alone and never having had a girlfriend, 37-year-old Satoru Mikami is dissatisfied with how his life has turned out. But after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a new world…as the lowest of the low – a slime monster.

Tonight’s Episode: “Inherited Will ”

Shizu, bow separated from Ifrit, tells Rimuru about someone known as The Hero who took her in and showed her the right path before mysteriously disappearing one day. Sensing her life is coming to an end, Shizu, not wishing her body to remain in this world, asks Rimuru to eat her, giving him the ability to take a human form.

Hinamatsuri

Yakuza member Yoshifumi Nitta, ends up taking care of a mysterious girl with telekinetic powers named Hina who inexplicably appeared in his apartment. Even though she threatens him with her extraordinary powers.

Tonight’s Episode: “Anzu Is a Greeter Now ”

Anzu adjusts to the culture shock of her new home and work at the restaurant, as she keeps falling back on her habits within the homeless camp. Later, Hina is tired of getting yelled at by the teachers for sleeping in class. After talking with Nitta, Hina decides to run for Student Council President with her only goals of being allowed to sleep and eat more at school.

Lupin the Third – Part V

The series is set in modern-day France, and follows the thief Arsène Lupin III, and his associates the marksman Daisuke Jigen, the swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII, the con artist Fujiko Mine along with his nemesis Inspector Koichi Zenigata, and are joined by the Ami Enan, a teenage hacker.

Tonight’s Episode: “Let’s Talk About First Loves ” and “Introducing Detective Jim Barnett III ”

The civil war interferes with Lupin’s declaraction to Fujiko. As Ami and Lupin, Jigen and Goemon converge on the royal palace, King Sinha regains control of Padar. The High Priest attempts to flee and establish an independent regime, planning to crown Princess Dolma in another country with a fake Bloody Teardrop, exposing his true ambitions for personal power.
But elsewhere, Countess Isabelle de Maunbassant, an old acquaintance of Lupin, has invited him to catch the murderer of her husband Philippe, offering him her husband’s emerald ring as a reward. She invited the three suspects to her chateau in order to set a trap for the culprit.

Overlord season II

Since appearing in another world, Ains has sent out daily commands as the ruler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He also maintains his alter-ego Momon, the strongest adventurer in E-Rantel, to gather funds and keep an ear to the ground. He sets out on quests considered suitable for a adamantite class adventurer, like defeating the Gigant Basilisk.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Ultimate Trump Card ” (finale)

Evileye requests Momon’s help to defeat Jaldabaoth, to which he obliges. Momon (Ainz) proves himself to be Jaldabaoth’s (Demiurge’s) equal while defending Evileye at the same time, which results in Evileye developing romantic feelings for Momon.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Ougen no Kaze (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Golden Wind)

Set in 2001, two years after the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Koichi Hirose is sent to Italy and tasked by Jotaro Kujo to search for Giorno Giovanna, an aspiring mafia gangster who is a son of Dio Brando. But as Dio possessed the body of Jonathan Joestar at time of his conception, Giorno is technically a Joestar and takes more after them than the father he never knew. The series follows Giorno as he joins the mafia organization Passione, moving up through its ranks with the intention of becoming its boss to improve life in Italy.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Sex Pistols Appears, Part 2 ”

In a flashback, Mista is shown as a carefree young thug who discovers that bullets fired at him miss completely. Back on the island of Capri, Mista is hanging onto the truck travelling up the mountain and is confronted by Sale and his Stand, Kraftwerk. Sale’s Stand allows him to affix objects and people in place, which enables him to stop a bullet fired by Mista from penetrating his skull.
