Below is the program for the evening of Saturday September 8^th, 2018.

Spring has sprung, and we start 3 new regular series this week, based on your feedback from the previous surveys. However, since we previewed the first episode of “Hataraku Saibou” / “Cells at Work!” only a few weeks ago, perhaps you want us to go directly to episode #2? It does mean missing out on the introduction to the Platelets in episode #1.

We will have a couple of other regular series finish this month, so October will also have the beginning of new regular series.

It is an unfortunate fact, but this close to Winter we are not able to properly keep the Hall warm. A reminder to bring along warm clothing.

Japanese Calendars

JAFWA member Dale is ready to do his annual bulk ordering of calendars from Japan. The entire list has not yet been released, and there may yet be some release date changes. However, I should be able to order anything from this target=”_blank”>site if people would like. Like the DVD orders, Dale prefers about a 50% deposit up front. Don’t forget that the exchange rate sometimes changes between now and release date.

CardCaptor Sakura: Clear Card

The long=awaited sequel. Sakura and Syaoran are starting junior high school. With the Final Judgment passed, Sakura thinks school life will be quiet, but then all her cards suddenly turn blank. The mysterious new power she discovers will change how she thinks about her powers.

This evening’s Episode: “Sakura, the Clock, and a Hide-and-Seek Game”

Sakura and Tomoyo are invited by Akiho to pay a visit to her new house, which by coincidence is the same mansion where Eriol lived during his stay in Tomoeda, where they are introduced to her butler, Yuna D. Kaito and Akiho shows them her family’s vast, personal library.

Sora Yorimo Tooi Basho (aka A Place Further than the Universe)

Mari Tamaki is a second-year high school student who wants to make the most out of her youth but is usually too afraid to do so. One day, she meets Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who has been saving up to travel to Antarctica, where her mother disappeared three years ago. Joined by two other girls, Hinata Miyake and Yuzuki Shiraishi, they join an expedition headed towards the Antarctic.

This evening’s Episode: “Howling, Maddening, Screaming”

The ship finally sets off on its voyage, with Mari and the others tasked with various jobs alongside their report before training on deck to build stamina. The novelty of the journey soon wears off, however, as everyone starts feeling seasick.

Hataraku Saibou (Cells at Work)

The world is a dangerous place for a red blood cell just trying to get her deliveries finished. Fortunately, she’s not alone… she’s got a whole human body’s worth of cells ready to help out. The mysterious white blood cell, the buff and brash killer T cell, the nerdy neuron, even the cute little platelets — everyone’s got to come together if they want to keep you healthy.

Tonight’s Episode: “Pneumococcus”

Inside a human body, a red blood cell, named AE3803, is rescued from a sudden attack from a group of Pneumococcus germs by a white blood cell, named U-1146. Later, as AE3803 tries to find her way to the lungs to make the delivery, she discovers one of the germs has escaped and is planning an attack on the lungs, so she and U-1146 accompany each other to the lungs to pursue it.

Retro – Choujikuu Yousai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)

In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.

Tonight’s Episode: “Romanesque”

It’s Christmas Time, and Minmay’s life begins to spiral into depression forcing her to seek Hikaru, which further isolates Misa. On Christmas Eve, Quamzin’s forces attack Onogi City to capture a reaction engine power condenser.

Death March Kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku (Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody)

Ichiro Suzuki is a programmer who was tasked with fixing several bugs in two MMORPGs his company is preparing for publication. While taking a nap, he somehow wakes up in another world as Satou Pendragon, with what looks like the menu screen of the game he was working on appearing before his inner eye. Due to cheat codes, his level jumps to 310 and he becomes extremely wealthy. Satou decides to hide his level, and plans to live peacefully and meet new people. However, the return of a demon king, may cause a nuisance to Satou’s plans.

Tonight’s movie: “The Catastrophe That Started with a Death March”

Suzuki is a programmer, trying to get two video games up and ready for release, even with last minute changes to install cheat codes and unexpected bugs. After a Death March session where he hasn’t gone home for 3 days, and spent the last 30 hours awake, he thinks it is ready for release. But even in his long overdue nap, it seems he is still dreaming about the games. The attack by those lizardmen seems awfully real, doesn’t it?

Sword Art Online side-story – Gun Gale Online

This is a side story from the Sword Art Online universe, this is all new characters – no Kirito or Asuna. We follow the story of Karen Kohiruimaki, a university student with a complex about her abnormal height. She begins playing a VR game called Gun Gale Online after it gives her the cute, petit avatar that she has always wanted.

Tonight’s movie: “Ten Minute Massacre”

Undeterred by the number of opposing teams ganging up on her, Pitohui and her team launch an ambush on them. Meanwhile, Llenn and Fukaziroh make their way through a dome, but coming the opposite direction is the skilled MMTM team.

Lupin the Third – Part V

The series is set in modern-day France, and follows the thief Arsène Lupin III, and his associates the marksman Daisuke Jigen, the swordsman Goemon Ishikawa XIII, the con artist Fujiko Mine along with his nemesis Inspector Koichi Zenigata, and are joined by the Ami Enan, a teenage hacker.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Girl in the Twin Towers”

Lupin decides to steal digital currency from Marco Polo on the dark web and enlists the aid of the developer of the security system of the bank: Ami. She lives in one of the Twin Towers, the one below water, but is weak from living on a poor diet. But Zenigata is on his trail, thanks to a new online game.

Overlord

Momonga, master of the Ainz Ooal Gown guild, was logged in to the Virtual Reality MMO Yggdrasil on the day it closed. Instead of being logged out he found his VR game had somehow become a real world that he was now trapped in. As a massively over-powered Lich Lord, there’s very little that can threaten him, so Momonga begins exploring the world surrounding his guild headquarters and meeting with its inhabitants in the hopes of finding anyone else from Earth trapped in this world with him.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Dark Warrior”

Momon and Nabe begin their respective fights against the assassin Clementine and the necromancer Khajiit. Momon, continues to give Clementine a handicap, clashes with her repeatedly, while Khajiit summons something nasty for Nabe.

Mahou Shoujo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project)

Himekawa Koyuki plays a popular social game known as the Magical Girl Raising Project, that secretly has the ability to grant players a 1-in-10,000 chance of becoming a real-life magical girl. Each of the magical girls possess unique abilities and earn Magical Candies by protecting people and performing good deeds. However, shortly after Himekawa Koyuki becomes the magical girl Snow White, the administration has decided that sixteen magical girls in a certain city is too many, and the number needs to be reduced…

Tonight’s Episode: “Notice of New Rules”

Calamity Mary kills civilians to entrap Top Speed and Ripple, while other magical girls race to the scene of the disaster, some to help, some to harm.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Diamond is Unbreakable (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Diamond is Unbreakable)

It’s the year 1999, 11 years after Jotaro Kujo’s desperate fight against Dio in Egypt. Jotaro meets with Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of his grandfather Joseph Joestar. He discovers that Josuke also has the same “Stand” power and that a new threat is surfacing in Morioh City.

Tonight’s Episode: “I’m an Alien”

Josuke and Okuyasu come across a peculiar person named Mikitaka Hazekura, who claims to be an alien named Nu Mikitakazo Nshi. Believing his claims to be a joke, Josuke initially suspects Mikitaka of being a Stand user when he exhibits some strange abilities.
