Screening

Below is the program for September 17^th.
It is movie night, and you know what that means – free entry for anime cosplay!
NOTE also, that this is the nearest day to International Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19^th), so cosplay from the time men were scurvy, women were wenches, and the saying “cold enough to freeze the balls off of a brass monkey” originated will also be accepted.

Tonight we also bid a fond farewell to both “Flying Witch” and “Erased – the town without me”. We have previously given clues as to what will replace these regular series. But before then a couple of preview items, though time constraints mean we won’t have “Hot Springs Fairy Hakone-chan” tonight.

This will also be the last JAFWA screening before the Spring Equinox. After this our old enemy the sun will be in ascendance. After this week we shall call upon Kris in the library to bring forth the sun disactivator!

Synopsis

Working!!! third series

The little restaurant of Wagnaria has a very eccentric staff that, against all odds, keep the place running and the customers coming back. Amidst the scheming assistant chef, the blasé boss, the katana wielding head waitress, the androphobe and the freeloader is Takanashi Souta, a high school student lured into working here by his obsession with anything small and cute … like waitress Taneshima Popura.

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Night Porter!?”

S?ta is given the task of reporting his family’s activities to the annoyingly masochistic Toru Minegishi, so that he can report to their mother. And finally, after all the punishment S?ta has received, he has to deal with poor eyesight.

Flying Witch

The cheerful and pleasant Kowata Makoto has come to Aomori to complete high school. She will be boarding with her cousin Muramoto Kei. Nothing unusual there right? Well, not quite. Because Makoto isn’t the normal girl she appears to be. Makoto is a witch, and she is going to bring some of the magic of the witching world to her new home.

Tonight’s Episodes: “A Witch’s Robe and Different Ways to Spend the Day” finale

Makoto finds her witches robe from Junior High-scholl, but between he continued growth and Chito’s attentions, it is time to make a new robe. The Neruta festival is approaching.

Kohei Inuzuka is a teacher and a recent widower, raising his young daughter alone. With a full time job keeping him busy, little Tsumugi has been getting mostly pre-packaged meals. A story about Saitama when he still had hair and his costume was a track suit, within the 1st year of his 3 year training to become strong. Defeating numerous villains in the abandoned area in Z-City but still having problems with rent money, Saitama speaks with a shop owner who is being forced by a local gang to surrender his store’s deed. The gang’s base turns out to be Saitama’s apartment complex.

Gate: Jieitai Kano Chi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri (Gate: The Self Defence Forces Fight Like This in That Place)

Youji Itami is a 33-year old otaku. He loves anime and does his best to never miss a convention or product sale. Youji is also a member of Japan’s Self Defense Force. After an invasion of Tokyo from an alternate universe, Youji’s unit is sent through the gateway to this alternate dimension to push back the invaders, taking him away from his beloved anime and manga. But maybe this won’t be all bad … because this parallel universe is straight out of a fantasy manga.

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (The Town Without Me)

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Emperor and the Hanged Man, Part 1”

The Joestar group arrives in Calcutta, India, and after an encounter with the local beggars the group stops at a nearby restaurant to relax. After an unusual encounter in the toilet, Polnareff is lured out to fight J.Geil and his Stand “The Hanged Man” all by himself. But J.Geil is not alone, and has another Stand user aiding him. The Joestar group will not get past Calcutta without losses.
