Below is the program for May 14^th, 2016.

We return after our monthly break, hungry for more anime. We are in the final stretch of so many of our regular shows. Soon you will see how last session’s survey will influence the program.
Your MC is slightly peeved that last session’s Bean Poll said you didn’t want to watch the final 3 episodes of “Here is Greenwood”, by 7 to 6. Why didn’t the rest of you vote for it? Now you must borrow it from the library, as we dig up the old Studio Gainax weirdity known as “FLCL”.

A word of warning. The Autumn Equinox has come and gone, and old enemy the sun has been defeated once more. But as a certain series of books warn us “Winter is coming”. We no longer need to use the Hall’s ventilation to cool us, from now on we need to rug to keep warm.

We have almost forgotten to thank Lotteries West, who are preparing to provide us with a grant to continue our good work.

Synopsis

Fairy Tail second series

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episodes: “For Me, Too“

As the Gate to Eclipse opens, as foretold Lucy attempts to close it. And then the dragons arrive, far more powerful and terrible than the assembled wizards of Fiore expected. And what is future Rogue’s place in all this?

Shirobako (White Box)

Aoi Miyamori and her four friends made up the Animation club at their high school, and all five of them aimed to go into the Anime industry after graduation. Now Aoi, like her friends, has made her dream come true. She works for Musashino Animation, a little studio in Tokyo. The job comes with all sorts of challenges and stresses but Aoi wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t something she wanted to do.

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Delivery That Was Too Far Off” (Finale)

With three weeks left until the delivery of the final episode, the entire Musashino staff reinforces their efforts to get the episode done with the time they have left. With Shizuka managing to voice a minor character, the 5 friends from high school are ever closer to their donut promise to make a great anime together.

Noragami Aragoto season 2

Hiyori Iki continues to interact with the world of gods, and in particular the still-homeless war god Yato and his divine instrument Yuki. Yato still hasn’t fulfilled his promise to re-attach her loose soul, and it may not happen anytime soon now. Because the war god Bishamon is back, and she still has an axe to grind with Yato. And she’s not the only one looking to meddle in Yato’s affairs…

Tonight’s Episodes: “Your Voice Calls Out

Hiyori is told by Ebisu that in order for her to get Yato back from the Underworld and Inazami’s grip, she must call his name which is known as a “Soul Call”. But while Hiyori is able to call Bishamon, it becomes obvious that Yato has never told her his real name.

Shirobako OAV

The premiere episodes of the two shows that Aoi Miyamori and Musashino Animation worked on over the course of the series Shirobako are no longer just brief snippets shown during episodes of the series that created them. Enjoy!

Tonight’s Episodes: “Exodus! Episode 1: Exit Tokyo”

Akane, Aya, and Arupin, the members of the idol group Tracy, stage a performance at a supermarket, but no one stops to listen to their singing. But then they find their manager Taguchi in a pool of blood. lying dead in a pool of blood. At the crime scene is a bloody knife identical to the ones the girls kept as part of their costumes, along with a partial message written by Taguchi with his blood, beginning with the letter ‘A’. Shortly after, Akane and Aya stumble upon the scene as well, then all three are spotted by a man, who assumes they murdered Taguchi and alerts security.

Retro Show from 2000: FLCL

12-year old Nandaba Naota lives in the city of Mabase with his widowed father and grandfather. His hometown is a fairly ordinary place, apart from the giant factory shaped like a steam iron up on the hill, where nothing special ever happens. That is until the day a woman on a Vespa scooter runs him down, revives him, and then bashes him in the head with a guitar … after that things start to get weird.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Fooly Cooly”

Naota Nandaba and his friend Mamimi Samejima are hanging out underneath a bridge. Mamimi then begins to kiss Naota’s neck. He asks why she always does that and she replies that she has to or she will overflow, presumably emotionally. Naota narrates his life in the city of Mabase as being “ordinary” and “nothing ever happens there.” Then things go weird.

Ansatsu Kyoushitsu, Season 2 (Assassination Classroom, Season 2)

The 10 billion yen bounty on the head of supersonic, tentacled schoolteacher Koro-sensei remains unclaimed. Despite the best efforts of everyone involved. The students of class 3E are still training to assassinate their teacher, in between getting an education and all sorts of valuable life lessons from him. But will they manage to do it before this overgrown, yellow octopus carries out his threat to destroy the entire world?

Tonight’s Episodes: “School Festival Time”

Kunigaoka holds a school festival in which all the classes are competing to make the most money with their stalls. As Gakushu and the rest of A Class use business connections and idols to draw in customers, E Class takes advantage of their mountain location by using local ingredients to create natural tasting dishes that prove a hit with visitors. It turns out they have made many connections since they started training as Assassins.

Charlotte

Otosaka Yuu has the ability to take over other people’s bodies, albiet only for a few seconds. Limited though this super power is Yuu intended to exploit it for his own benefit, but his efforts only served to attract the attention of other teenagers with strange powers. Now Otosaka Yuu is an, unwilling, student at Hoshi no Umi Academy. A school created to keep people like him out of trouble … but also to keep them safe.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Looting”

Otosaka Shunsuke explains what happened after traveling three years into the past. After explaining his situation to Kumagami and joining up with his allies, Shunsuke began trying to think of a way to keep them and his family safe from the facility. Though the various time travel attempts have ruined his eyesight. And his younger sister is still dead. But now ther is Yuu…

Sidonia no Kishi: Daikyuu Wakusei Seneki (Knights of Sidonia: Battle for Planet Nine)

The colony ship Sidonia continues its journey through the region of space controlled by the titanic and almost indestructible Gauna. Ace pilot, and former scavenger, Nagate Tanikaze now leads the defence of his home, aided by an upgraded arsenal of weapons for the Gardes mecha that he and the other pilots fly. But it is still a dangerous task, and the Gauna may not be the only problem. The immortal leaders of Sidonia’s populace have their own power struggles and plans for the ship and its population. And there is also the fragment of a Gauna kept in Sidonia’s research lab … which took the shape of Tanikaze’s deceased fellow pilot Shizuka.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Entry”

Izana’s squad attempt to retreat and regroup after encountering the invisible gauna above planet nine, but two of its members are killed, and the squad leader’s Guardian is damaged. When the Captain refuses Yuhata’s request to mount a rescue, Tsumugi and Nagate request permission to sortie.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure)

The Joestar’s are a wealthy English family, but one with a dark fate. Ever since the days of Jonathon Joestar and his adopted brother Dio Brando, and the succession struggle that came about from Dio’s greed, the Joestar family line has found itself embroiled in supernatural horror and world-threatening ambition. And it always falls to the current Jojo, whoever it may be, to stop the madness.

Tonight’s Episodes: “The Birth of a Superbeing!!”

Kars the final Pillar Man has grasped victory from defeat by donning a stone mask with the power of the red stone. Now he is something far more, with no weaknesses. And his first target is the exhausted Jojo. Jojo had been hoping to avoid using his ultimate move.

Death Parade

The Quindecim is a bar, accessible only by a pair of elevators. Within this stately and impressive establishment the bar is tended by a man known as Decim, with the assistance of a small but skilled staff. No one comes here alone, and no one remembers how they ended up here … at first. But the result is always the same; the guests must play a game against each other, and the stakes could not be higher.

Tonight’s Episode: “Suicide Tour“

As Oculus confronts Nona, who wants to prove that arbiters are more than dummies, Decim brings Chiyuki to her old house, offering her the chance to be brought back to life in exchange for another’s life. Observing how much her mother cares for her even after her death, how can Chiyuki refuse taking up the offer?
