  • November 15th to 16th – The Bonsai Society of Western Australia is holding a Bonsai Show on November 15-16 from 10am-5pm at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre. There will be bonsai demonstrations and sales all weekend. For more information, please click here (pdf).
  • Saturday November 29th – JAFWA’s next event afternoon. Come make your own entertainment between 1PM and 4PM. There is a tendency for the sewing machines to come out and cosplay to be created, as well as more frivolous activities.
  • Saturday December 13th, 11am-5pm – You risk missing the start of JAFWA for RAHCON Mandurah Convention Centre, 22 Ormsby Tce,$10 Tickets

Synopsis

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode:Hold Hands

Grimoire Heart has been defeated and driven off, everyone has survived, Cana has found the courage to reveal herself to her absentee father Guildarts, and in a tiny little boat off the coast of Tenroujima Meldy has found it in her heart to forgive Ultear for her murderous actions. But the danger is not over yet. Zeref has used Master Hades as the sacrifice to summon Acnologia. Even now, the members of Fairy Tail can sense a foul smell in the air and the far off echoes of something monstrous…

It has been a year since the victims of Alfheim Online were freed from their virtual prison, and more than a year since Sword Art Online was shut down. But now it has begun once again. A mysterious figure has been making appearances in the game Gun Gale Online, and other players drop dead in their wake. Kirito finds himself once again risking his life in the online world.

Sinon’s time in GGO is meant to be therapeutic, by becoming better with guns she thinks she can overcome her crippling real life phobia. Asuna shares Kirito’s doubts about the intentions of Kikuoka and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but it’s not really a request he can turn down. So with a fully staffed hospital to monitor his condition and a decidedly androgynous avatar, Kirito has entered Gun Gale Online. However he finds the layout of the hub city confusing and turns to another lone character for directions, a certain sniper …

Zankyou no Terror (Resonance of Terror)

Tokyo is under attack, from a pair of terrorists referring to themselves as ‘Sphinxes’. With a series of complicated riddles uploaded to the internet as the only warning of when and where each attack will take place the police scramble to protect the city. But there may be more to these terrorists than their appearance, or their dehumanizing names, suggest.

The “invisible bomb” turned out to be all of the police’s collected intel. And because they didn’t follow instructions it was disseminated to the general public, in spite of Shibazaki solving the riddle in time. But upon arriving back at their hideout, the first thing Lisa does is pass out. And in the midst of all this, there is an arrival at Tokyo. Genshiken Nidaime (Genshiken Second Season)

The old guard have graduated and now only Ogiue, Ohno and Kuchiki remain. As a new year begins Genshiken is once again infused with new members, who bring with them their own quirks, tastes and personal baggage with which to befuddle, bemuse and entertain the rest of the club. The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture (Gendai Shikaku Bunka Kenkyukai, Gen Shi Ken) is back.

The School Festival has finally arrived, the Genshiken club magazine is finished and the work of Hato, Ogiue, Yeagashi and Rika is on display. With Ogiue taking pride in helping Hato get over his BL fixation and produce non-pornographic work. The old guard are also there, and even high school friends of both Yaegashi and Rika have dropped by to check the club out. But they are not the only surprises. School friends of Hato, people who knew him before he started cross-dressing, are also at the university. Including the person that made him start in the first place …

Witch Craft Works

Takamiya Honoka’s life used to be completely normal. That is until the day he was attacked by a Witch of the Tower and learned that Kagari Ayaka, the most popular girl in school, is secretly his personal bodyguard and a witch herself. Now Takamiya must contend with a growing procession of eccentric magic users out to either kidnap or kill him, all whilst trying to figure out why anyone is interested in him in the first place.

Takamiya has forged a new contract with the city, just in time to restore the Workshop witches’ magic and save Weekend’s hostages. But the Tower Witch had planned even for this eventuality, and now she detonates yet more bombs throughout the Workshop sanctuary, goading him into drawing ever more power from the White Witch (and thus weakening the seals on her even further) until Ayaka knocks him out. Once he is safe Ayaka sets off to deal with Weekend herself, whilst Takamiya finds himself dreaming of a classroom where his and Ayaka’s mother first meet…

The location shown on the mysterious device’s map was a partially destroyed church in Karuizawa. But some German text on one of its remaining walls was all Ryouta could find before some trigger-happy police arrested him. And only Kuroha and Kotori’s intervention, acting on Kana’s prophecy, saved his life. But the next hunter is on their trail. Nanami can read, and tamper with, the memories of anyone she makes eye-contact with. And although the region around the church has few useful witnesses, Ryouta’s home town is the next biggest city in the area …
