July has come, and it is time once again to safely attend JAFWA. Four new regular series start this week, and with some genius we have managed to add a preview episode to the mix.

You cannot in good conscience stay away from the cultural goodness that is anime.

Nominate for the JAFWA committee

Official announcement that this is the last week that JAFWA is taking nominations for election to the JAFWA committee.

Yes! this is when fresh blood enters the governing committee of JAFWA! (non-vampire means)
If you are have been a signed up JAFWA member for the last 3 months, and resident in WA (preferably the Perth region), please nominate your self for the election in July, by bringing written notification to either the President/Shogun Drew, or our Secretary/Daimyo Glenn.

This is a reminder to think about the upcoming Annual General Meeting and committee elections on July 16th. We request that all signed up members come along that afternoon to find out how the current committee have been doing over the last year, discuss issues to be dealt with, raise motions for actions to be carried out in your names, and then in the evening Dinner Break, vote in the new committee.

Cash for Containers

As people may have noticed, JAFWA collects the recyclable containers (cans and bottles) that are disposed of by our attendees. It helps in a small way.

Log Horizon series III – Destruction of the Round Table

It’s been a year since Shiroe and his friends were trapped in Akiba due to the Catastrophe. Their forging of the Round Table has brought order and prosperity to its people. But fracturing political alliances and the constant menace of the Genius monsters threaten to destabilize all they’ve fought for and built.

This evening’s Episode: “Rayneshia’s Marriage”

The Round Table conference is informed that their investigation on the Fairy Rings was fruitless, which hinders their plans to create a way back and forth to the real world. Rayneshia is visited by her mother and is informed that her engagement with another noble was arranged, which leaves Rayneshia in distress due to her feelings for Crusty, who is still missing.

Spy x Family

In order to ensure World Peace, a master spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realising that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath, and the woman he agrees to be in a marriage with is a skilled assassin.

This evening’s Episode: “Operation Strix”

In order to ease tensions between Westalis and its neighboring country Ostania, Westalis Intelligence (WISE) assigns Twilight, their greatest spy, to form a family in Ostania in order to get close to Donovan Desmond, leader of Ostania’s National Unity Party. To do this, he will need to enroll his “child” into Eden Academy, where he can safely and legitimately approach Donovan. Twilight, under the identity of Loid Forger, adopts a young girl named Anya, who secretly has telepathic abilities and immediately uses her power to discover Loid’s true occupation. Anya accidentally sends a transmission to Edgar, a minister in Ostania, revealing their location.

Deaimon

Nagomu is a man who left his home in Kyoto and his family’s confectionery shop when he became a musician. Upon hearing that his father has been hospitalized though, he comes back home to take over the family business. However, while he was gone, a young girl named Itsuka started working at the shop. The whereabouts of Itsuka’s parents is unknown, and she has no other relatives, and Nagomu finds himself as foster parent for Itsuka. Itsuka, on the other hand, dislikes Nagomu for abandoning the family to become a musician. She proclaims that it will be her who will take over the shop one day instead of Nagomu.

Tonight’s Episode: “Welcoming the Spirits”

tsuka separately meets Mitsuru and Kanoko and decide to go for lunch. Mitsuru and Kanoko are friendly but Itsuka is on edge as both girls know the other has some link with Nagomu. Visiting a shrine both Mitsuru and Kanoku draw bad luck O-mikuji.

Lupin III part 6

The World’s greatest gentleman thief Lupin III, and cohorts, contending with detective Sherlock Holmes when Lupin becomes the top suspect in the murder of the former’s longtime partner, Dr. Watson. Lupin is also after a treasure hidden by The Raven, a mysterious organisation that manipulates the British government from the shadows

Tonight’s Episodes: “Samurai Collection ”

Gabby, a celebrity fashion designer whose collections are sold through auctions instead of the open market, returns to the spotlight after a five-year hiatus to present a new fashion line. She hires Goemon as a model after she rescues him during one of his training runs in the Arctic. Meanwhile, Lupin plans to nab Gabby’s latest designs in return for the promise of a romantic night with Fujiko.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Prince Who Would Sell His Kingdom”

Prince Wein of Natra Kingdom is beloved by the people but in secret detests his responsibilities and treasonously plots to sell the kingdom. Natra Kingdom has long winters and no decent farmland, thus the economy is poor and its debts extensive. The only one who knows of Wein’s selfishness is his assistant Ninym Ralei who tries to keep him in line. The rich King of Marden is incompetent and hated by his citizens so he plans to successfully invade Natra to make himself popular.

Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) – season 2

Tanjiro Kamado is a kindhearted and intelligent boy who lives with his family, making money by selling charcoal. Everything changes when his family is attacked and slaughtered by demons (oni). Tanjiro and his sister Nezuko are the sole survivors of the incident. Nezuko has now become a demon, but still surprisingly shows signs of human emotion and thought. Tanjiro becomes a demon slayer to help his sister turn human again and to prevent the same tragedy that happened to him and his sister, from happening to others.

Tonight’s Episode: “What Are You? ” Entertainment District arc

Inosuke investigates a room he believes to be Makio’s, expecting to face a demon, but finds the room disheveled and empty. However, he quickly senses something moving through the ceiling and walls, and starts a pursuit, though to no avail. Meanwhile, in his own House, Zenitsu defends a girl from being scolded by Warabihime, the House’s beautiful but intimidating Oiran.

To Your Eternity (Fumetsu no Anata e) season 1

An omnipotent narrator casts an orb of light to the Earth, watching as this entity copies the shape of a rock and then, many years later, mimics the moss on a rock. When a wolf dies beside the moss, it evolves, taking on the creature’s shape and gaining movement for the first time. As the wolf, the orb observes the dead wolf’s owner, a young man who lives alone on a frozen tundra. The time the orb spends with the boy leaves a mark on the entity as it observes, mimics, and bonds with the boy and then the other creatures it eventually comes across—all while transcending death and living for time immemorial.

Tonight’s Episode: “To Continue On”

Tonari attempts to rescue Fushi from the clutches Hayase alone, but ends up encountering some Nokkers. As the mindless monsters attack all of Janada Island, she and Fushi are forced to fight the monsters who have possessed the dead.

Summer Time Rendering

Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island.

Tonight’s Episode: “Goodbye, Summer Days”

Shinpei has a dream of childhood friend Ushio telling him to protect her sister Mio. As he awakens on the ferry he accidentally falls into a woman’s breasts. Shinpei is traveling home to Hitogashima Island for Ushio’s funeral. Sou, another friend, reveals Ushio drowned saving young girl Shiori. That night Mio is seen outside, staring vacantly until a relative named Tetsu, Hitogashima’s only police officer, comes along.

Golden Kamuy

Saichi Sugimoto, a survivor of the battle of 203 Hill in the Russo-Japanese War has become a miner in Hokkaido in order to provide for the widow of his dead comrade, Toraji. He hears a dubious story of hidden Ainu gold stashed by a criminal group, and accidentally finds clues to its location. He decides to search for the gold along with an Ainu girl, Asirpa, who rescues him from Hokkaido’s harsh northern wilderness. Though other parties are also hunting for the gold.

Tonight’s Episode: “Edogai-kun” season 2

While searching for the body of a tattooed prisoner stolen from his grave, Tsurumi encounters Edogai Yasaku, a taxidermist who creates clothing from human skin. Tsurumi wins Edogai’s affections by praising his skills, and commissions Edogai to create fake tattooed skins to confuse the other treasure hunters. At Asirpa’s village, a recovered Tanigaki promises Huci that he will bring Asirpa home safely. He is joined by Inkarmat, unaware that she is working for Tsurumi.

Attack On Titan (Shingeki ni Kyojin) season 4 part B

Young Eldian Warrior candidates Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, seeking to inherit Reiner’s Armored Titan four years after the failed mission to claim the Founding Titan. As Marley’s dominance over competing nations begins to weaken due to the development of anti-titan weaponry, they plan to invade Paradis to develop their military using the resources on the island and also recover the Founding Titan. However, Eren Yeager and the Survey Corps have reached the Marley shoreline
.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Two Brothers”

The Jaw Titan tries to slow the Attack Titan down, and Eren severely injures Porco by smashing the Jaw’s nape. He’s interrupted by another cannon shot, but then Floch’s group attack and distract the Cart. Reiner grapples with Eren and reaches out to Porco, which triggers Marcel’s memory about Reiner inheriting the Armored Titan. Zeke survived Magath’s sneak attack and prepares to use his scream. Colt pleads with Zeke not to do so until Falco is out of range.
