Screening on Saturday 31st October 2020

We continue the countdown to JAFWA’s 30th Aniversary celebrations. Rejoice!
While a lot of the world celebrates Halloween, the normal screenings continue here at JAFWA. Though we don’t object if you wish to dress up.

This week we shall have one preview episode of other anime, due to suggestions by our dear JAFWA members (aka JAFWAites). Many long term JAFWAite members have fond memories of anime based off of the works of manga-ka Rumiko Takahashi, so we have a sequel to one of her earlier works – Inu-Yasha this night.
And we have the final of the “Sinners of the System” trilogy of Psycho Pass movies.
And last, but not least we have our monthly survey and member’s prize draw. Don’t miss JAFWA!

Yashahime Psycho Pass

JAFWA’s 30th Aniversary is quickly approaching, and a reminder that we may still have a limited number of tickets for an authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony on the day. Buy your $10 ticket early! as they are going fast. President Drew may still have some to sell this week.

As a side note, quite a few people seem to think 2020 is not a very good year. Be aware that we have entered the new calendar season, and some Japanese calendars have been listed already, such as here and here. I have already taken an order. Do you also want to be cheered up by 2021?

We continue taking precautions to limit the possible second wave of Corona, and we ask that you co-operate and even help where possible with our efforts to keep you safe – some social distancing, extra cleaning with antiseptic, library under limited access, etc. Also, we must ask that anyone unfortunate enough to be infected to not attend JAFWA until they are contagion free.
Help would be welcome during set-up and pack-up due to the extra duties imposed by COVID-19. Set Up begins ~4:45pm, while the Screening should begin at 5:15pm, or later should the set-up not yet be complete. Please arrive early to confirm personal details due to COVID 19 regulations. And we need to wipe the chairs down before they are stacked away.
