ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Please be advised that on the 21st of July 2018 the Japanese Animation Fans of Western Australia will be holding it’s 2018 Annual General Meeting.
The meeting will be held at the Collins Street Centre in South Perth from 3:00pm onwards. The regular screening will commence afterwards, and during the dinner break the committee election will be held.
We request that all current members attend to meet quorum requirements and to have your voices heard!
If you have any matters you would like to have raised at the meeting, please email them through to
jafwa.anime@gmail.com.

The JAFWA committee has a few constitutional amendments to make that requires the approval and voting by the JAFWA membership.

Screening
Below is the program for the evening of Saturday July 21st, 2018.
After the excitement and drama of the AGM…
Actually, we are hoping that the AGM is a hum-drum affair that does not evoke too many lynchings.
At any rate, once the AGM is concluded we shall have a pleasant evening of JAFWA with assorted anime episodes.
At 7PM we will hold the JAFWA elections where you decide whom your overlords shall be for the next year. We can only hope that somebody as cools as Ainz Ooal Gown is elected.
Though there will be a preview episode tonight. Instead of virtual violence of Gun Gale Online, prepare to see an example of Yakuza and psychic powers. And a double episode of Jojo’s, where we get properly introduced to this arc’s big bad enemy.
It is an unfotunate fact, but in Winter we are not able to properly keep the Hall warm. A reminder to bring along warm clothing.

CardCaptor Sakura: Clear Card
The long=awaited sequel. Sakura and Syaoran are starting junior high school. With the Final Judgment passed, Sakura thinks school life will be quiet, but then all her cards suddenly turn blank. The mysterious new power she discovers will change how she thinks about her powers.
This evening’s Episode: “Sakura Feels a Pull at the Flower Viewing”
Sakura meets her friends for viewing the Cherry Blossoms, where she is suddenly dragged away by a mysterious force to a large tree in the middle of the forest. The gravity of the situation cannot be allowed to deter her meeting with Syaoran.
Sakura Quest
Yoshino Koharu is a young girl trying to look for a job in Tokyo, but is only met with a series of rejections. However, she has a seemingly lucky break when she receives a job offer to work with the tourism board of the economically struggling Manoyama village as their “Queen”. With no other choice, Yoshino accepts the offer and travels to Manoyama only to find out that she was hired based on a case of mistaken identity and that her contract term is for one year instead of the one day, as she had initially thought. With nowhere else to go, Yoshino reluctantly becomes Queen of Manoyama.
This evening’s Episode: “The Pixie in the Town of Ice”
Maki, Shiori, and Ririko come across Erika, who is trying to run away to Tokyo. They decide to let Erika live with them for a while until she calms down. Meanwhile, Yoshino and Sanae bring their proposal to revive the Mizuchi Festival to the Merchant Board, and Mrs. Oribe accepts, though she instructs them to obtain the consent of all of the other shopkeepers in town.
Sora Yorimo T?i Basho (aka A Place Further than the Universe)
Mari Tamaki is a second-year high school student who wants to make the most out of her youth but is usually too afraid to do so. One day, she meets Shirase Kobuchizawa, a girl who has been saving up to travel to Antarctica, where her mother disappeared three years ago. Joined by two other girls, Hinata Miyake and Yuzuki Shiraishi, they join an expedition headed towards the Antarctic.
This evening’s Episode: “Four Caterpillars”
Mari gets in trouble with her mother after she fakes her signature on a permission slip and is tasked with passing all of her tests. With the threat of studies looming, Mari and the others head to a summer training camp for the expedition, where they meet the team captain, Gin Todo.
Retro – Ch?jik? Y?sai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)
In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.
Tonight’s Episode: “Viva Maria”
Max, Milia, and their baby daughter, Komilia Maria, play a crucial role in the capture of a Zentradi satellite factory – the source of the overtechnology of which the aliens rely on.
Alice to Zouroku (Alice and Zouroku)
Sana Kashimura, a little orphan girl who is one of the children that holds the power of “Alice’s Dream,” a special ability that enables her to materialize anything she imagines. After escaping a lab where she was a test subject, she ends up in the outside world where she encounters a grumpy old man named Zouroku, but she wonders if he will help her.
Tonight’s Episode: “Where the Cheshire Cat Smiles”
Hatori decides to return home and is greeted by her mother, though Hatori is unsure if her mother is acting naturally or under her mind-control power. Meanwhile, Sana wakes up back at her home, where she’s relieved everybody is okay. Asahi and Yonaga are also present and take up Zouroku’s request to stay over for the night.
preview – Hinamatsuri
Yakuza member Yoshifumi Nitta, ends up taking care of a mysterious girl with telekinetic powers named Hina who inexplicably appeared in his apartment. Even though she threatens him with her extraordinary powers.
Tonight’s Episode: “Arrival of the Psychokinetic Girl!”
A mid-level Yakuza, Yoshifumi Nitta, relaxes at home when a large metal pod drops onto his head out of nowhere. After hitting a switch on the back, a naked girl emerges from the pod. Remembering nothing else except her name, Hina, she uses psychokinesis to threaten Nitta into buying her clothes and toys.
Maho Tsukai no Yome (The Ancient Magus Bride)
Chise Hatori, 15 years old. Lost, without hope, and without family, she is bought for money … not by another person, but by a non-human magus named Elias Ainsworth. Though she hesitates, she begins life anew as his apprentice and future wife.
Tonight’s Episode: “Any port in a storm.”
In her dreams Chise visits London and encounters Cartaphilius, who is suffering more pain than normal and he tearfully insists that his name is Joseph. She awakens to discover distraught visitors, who explain that Cartaphilius stole two dragons, and they want Elias to find the dragons and take them home. Chise learns that Cartaphilius is selling a dragon at the London auction house that sold her to Elias.
Mah? Sh?jo Ikusei Keikaku (Magical Girl Raising Project)
Himekawa Koyuki plays a popular social game known as the Magical Girl Raising Project, that secretly has the ability to grant players a 1-in-10,000 chance of becoming a real-life magical girl. Each of the magical girls possess unique abilities and earn Magical Candies by protecting people and performing good deeds. However, shortly after Himekawa Koyuki becomes the magical girl Snow White, the administration has decided that sixteen magical girls in a certain city is too many, and the number needs to be reduced…
Tonight’s Episode: “New Character!”
Sister Nana suggests to the others that they work together to find a way to stop the cruel system, but Ripple seems unwilling to co-operate. The next evening, as Sister Nana and Weiss Winterprison meet the most recent magical girl, Hardgore Alice.
Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Diamond is Unbreakable (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Diamond is Unbreakable)
It’s the year 1999, 11 years after Jotaro Kujo’s desperate fight against Dio in Egypt. Jotaro meets with Josuke Higashikata, the illegitimate son of his grandfather Joseph Joestar. He discovers that Josuke also has the same “Stand” power and that a new threat is surfacing in Morioh City.
Tonight’s Episodes: “Yoshikage Kira Just Wants to Live Quietly, Part 1” and Part 2
Kira goes with one of his victim’s severed hand to buy a sandwich, hiding it inside the shop’s paper bag. Just then, Shigekiyo, who had bought a sandwich from the same shop, ends up picking up Kira’s bag containing the severed hand by mistake. Fearing that the police will trace the hand back to him if discovered, Kira tails Shigekiyo in the hopes of taking his bag before he can look inside. Unfortunately Shigekiyo and his Stand Harvest are targetted for execution, as Kira brings out his own Stand, Killer Queen, that can turn anything into a bomb.
