No Screening this Saturday, 7th March 2026

No JAFWA screening until Saturday 14th March 2026!

We are taking our once-a-month weekend off to refresh ourselves after the wonderful night of anime at the last JAFWA screening.

Who expected the toothy pouffe to be so quickly selected in the monthly Member’s Prize? For those of you who did not attend, I would spin you a story that we tried to celebrate the return of “Frieren” to our screening schedule, yet were stymied by the Customs people who wouldn’t let us import an authentic Frieren-chomping treasure-chest type Mimic (it is some sort of BioSecurity hazard) for the Member’s Prize. We managed to find a juvenile substitute through Swedish channels, though our winner will need to perform some Ikean veterinarian work to get its feet working properly.

Stay cool, healthy and safe in March.

If you strongly feel that JAFWA is neglecting certain well-deserving anime, please offer to sponsor a night of JAFWA and screen your favourites. If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like both Lindsay and Elliot did previously, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

Below is the draft program for the evening of Saturday March 14th, 2026.
