JAFWA returns to Normal Hours (5:15PM -> 10:40PM) from October

The month of October is over already!?! At least we can expect our Monthly Survey during the Dinner Break where you can bias the program choices, especially if you get a large enough voting block. Wield your power wisely!
And there is JAFWA‘s monthly Member’s Prize afterwards. Make certain that your membership is up to date, for the possibility of great prizes await.
We are no longer in Winter Hours so JAFWA starts at 5PM!

With the Mamoru Hosoda Retrospective soon to screen at Luna Leederville, JAFWA is looking to score some free double passes, to be used as Door Prizes. You have to attend to win them!

Even though we will have double “Dr Stone” goodness, we have room for a preview episode for this week’s JAFWA program and survey, which will be an example of “Hell hath no Fury like a scorned woman”, or at least fiancee.

If you would like to showcase the anime that holds great meaning and value to you, please offer to sponsor a night of JAFWA and screen your favourites. If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like both Lindsay and Elliot did previously, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

Dr Stone season 4 “Science Future”

Modern society is lost when a mysterious light leaves everyone petrified in stone. Thousands of years in the future, super genius Senku awakens and begins restoring civilisation with his Kingdom of Science. After the battle on Treasure Island, Senku and the gang return to the Kingdom of Science. With their sights set on the Moon, they must first voyage to the Americas in hopes of beginning to harvest the required materials. Through teamwork and science, they continue the fight to save humanity once and for all. This will involve creating a space program to go to the Moon. The battle between scientists is about to start.

This Evening’s Episodes: “What I Once Sought to Destroy” and “Our Dr. Stone“

Following Chrome’s plan, Senku sends Suika and Francois to a safe distance, tasked with reviving the advance party after self-petrification with the reactivated Medusa. While scouting, they spot the Americans searching for the group, still holding Ginro and Matsukaze captive. Before they can return to warn the others, Charlotte, one of Stanley’s operatives, is bitten by a venomous spider and paralysed. Suika saves her with a nitroglycerin pad, but is discovered and forced to flee.
As the advance party struggles to ready the Medusa device, the American forces launch their assault on the fortress. Senku orders Luna and Chelsea to flee while the crew sustains heavy casualties. Amid the chaos, Joel contacts them with critical news: he has completed the Medusa, powered by a functional diamond battery.

Secrets of the Silent Witch (Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto)

Monica Everett, the Silent Witch, is the world’s only practitioner of Voiceless Magic, a veritable heroine who single-handedly fended off the Black Dragon of legend. However, the young prodigy is actually…super-duper shy. and she only learned Voiceless Magic to avoid speaking in public. Ignorant of this, the Seven Sages have placed her on a top-secret mission to guard the Second Prince.

This Evening’s Episode: “My Responsibility“

While doing warehouse inventory, a timber pile nearly falls on Casey, prompting Monica to take her to the infirmary. However, on the way, Monica notices that Casey caused the incident herself and confronts her about it. Nero then alerts Monica about a mana reaction, which she deduces comes from a magical bomb that Casey placed back in the warehouse, where Felix currently is.

So begins Scarlet’s story of revenge against Kyle and his corrupt cronies.

The emotionless Scarlet is publicly dumped by her fiancé Second Prince Kyle of Pallistan Kingdom so he can marry Terenezza Hopkins, who claimed that Scarlet bullied her for years at the academy, though without any shreds of evidence. Scarlet accepts his wishes and asks for one last favour. But punching Kyle is not enough.

365 Days to the Wedding (“Kekko surutte, Hontou desuka” literally “Are You Really Getting Married?”)

The J.T.C. travel agency is looking for someone to manage its brand-new branch in Alaska. But for employees Takuya Oohara and Rika Honjouji, they’d rather just stay home in Tokyo. Thankfully, they’ve discovered a way out—their manager has narrowed down the recruits to bachelors, so they decide to get married. The problem is they barely know each other at all.

Tonight’s Episode: “Are Declarations of Love Genuine?“

Ohara plans to spend his day off depressed at home, but Gonda visits to tell him about a new dating app. Ohara is shocked to learn that most modern marriages started via dating apps. Gonda met a woman named Kaori on the app.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles (“Masshuru”)

This is a world of magic where magic is used for everything. But deep in the forest exists a young man who spends his time training and bulking up. He can’t use magic, but he enjoys a peaceful life with his father. His muscular body will have to protect him from the magic users who are out to get him.

Tonight’s Episode: “Mash Burnedead and the Wolves of Magic“

Lance decides they should attack Lang at their dorm, even though dorm locations are strict secrets. Tom and a dozen other students experience a nightmare of being trapped and awaken almost totally drained of magic. While on patrol they find a secret underground arena where a Lang student, Shuen Getsuku, offers to duel them on the orders of Magia’s Third Fang.

SAO alternate: Gun Gale Online season 2

This is a side story from the Sword Art Online universe, this is all new characters – no Kirito nor Asuna. We follow the story of Karen Kohiruimaki, a university student with a complex about her abnormal height. She begins playing a VR game called Gun Gale Online after it gives her the cute, petit avatar that she has always wanted.

Tonight’s Episode: “Turn Over“

M is able to shake off the last SHINC member and she accidentally kills herself with her own grenade. Meanwhile MMTM attempt to storm the bridge, but Pitohui lures them into a trap and kills them with electrified fire sprinklers. The battles and deaths continue. But who has Pitohui betrayed, and what will it do to LLENN?

Solo Leveling 2 – Arise from the Shadows

It’s been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates”—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters.” Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. Notoriously weak hunter named Sung Jin-woo gets a unique opportunity to get stronger.

Tonight’s Episode: “Looking Up Was Tiring Me Out“

In the Demon’s Castle, Jin-woo befriends the demon noble Esil, who helps guide him to the final floor. On the final floor, Jin-woo fights Demon King Baran, who rides a massive white dragon. Meanwhile, the Korean Hunters Association partners with its Japanese counterpart to plan a fourth Jeju Island operation in order to counter the quickly evolving flying ants.

Akiba Maid War (Akiba Maid Sensou)

In Akihabara in 1999, a 17-year-old girl named Nagomi Wahira begins her new job working at a pig-themed maid cafe, trying to follow her dream of being a cheerful and hardworking maid. However, Nagomi soon finds the world of maid cafes in Akihabara is a lot more cutthroat than she anticipated at first.

Tonight’s Episode: “A Blood-soaked Ballgame: The Kyun of Victory Shines On You“

After being absorbed into Creatureland, the Maidaliens were rebranded into an Axolotl-themed maid cafe. As they hold a funeral for Manami, the Oinky Doink Manager comes to pay her respects with the Debt Collector, but ends up angering them. Nagi orders both sides to settle their grievances with a game of baseball.

DanDaDan part 2

Takakura, an occult maniac who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Ayase, a girl who doesn’t believe in aliens, try to overcome their differences when they encounter the paranormal.

Tonight’s Episode: “You Can Do It, Okarun!“

The composers strike at Okarun and Aira with their music and tight compositions, leaving Okarun and Aira overwhelmed and unable to dodge their attacks. A frustrated Turbo Granny urges Okarun to improve his fight rhythm, and Okarun synchronizes his timing to Hayashi’s music. Okarun begins to perform better in combat with Aira, forcing Beethoven to use the Ninth Symphony and corner them with giant vocalists and a hostile audience.
