Screening of Saturday 13th September 2025

JAFWA continues in September (Winter Hours:- 4:15PM -> 9:45PM)

Spring has officially arrived in Australia as of September 1^st. Warmth and sunlight return to JAFWA, though some people may complain it is not fast enough. After all, we are still observing Winter Hours this month. At least we don’t need the Sun Disactivator. Yet.
But the point of this horological observation is, come to JAFWA and let us bask in the delight of anime.

This Thursday be aware that the long-awaited final season starts with Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Infinity Castle will be appearing at various cinemas, in both subbed and dubbed versions. Choose wisely.

This week’s program has finally stabilised for the last quarter of 2025, with nine regular series showing. And we include a preview item of the “chosen one” (technically reincarnated) saving human civilisation from the brink in a fantasy world.

If you would like to showcase the anime that holds great meaning and value to you, please offer to sponsor a night of JAFWA and screen your favourites. If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like both Lindsay and Elliot did previously, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). Apocalypse Hotel

Modern society is lost when a mysterious light leaves everyone petrified in stone. Thousands of years in the future, super genius Senku awakens and begins restoring civilisation with his Kingdom of Science. After the battle on Treasure Island, Senku and the gang return to the Kingdom of Science. With their sights set on the Moon, they must first voyage to the Americas in hopes of beginning to harvest the required materials. Through teamwork and science, they continue the fight to save humanity once and for all. This will involve creating a space program to go to the Moon. The battle between scientists is about to start.

This Evening’s Episode: “The Escape“

Under Chelsea’s guidance, the advance party searches for rubber trees near the long-blocked Panama Canal. Anticipating Stanley’s pursuit, they use the mobile lab as a decoy to lure him away. However, Stanley quickly sees through the ruse. Will there be time to harvest rubber, build motorcycles and escape Stanley the Sniper in his captured aircraft-carrier?

Secrets of the Silent Witch (Silent Witch: Chinmoku no Majo no Kakushigoto)

Monica Everett, the Silent Witch, is the world’s only practitioner of Voiceless Magic, a veritable heroine who single-handedly fended off the Black Dragon of legend. However, the young prodigy is actually…super-duper shy. and she only learned Voiceless Magic to avoid speaking in public. Ignorant of this, the Seven Sages have placed her on a top-secret mission to guard the Second Prince.

This Evening’s Episode: “Serendia Academy Student Council“

Seeking to prove her innocence and find the real accomplice of Aaron, Monica and Lana stumble upon Aaron’s fiancé Selma Karsh, who is being bullied by Count Norn’s daughter Caroline Simmons in the stairwell. Caroline carelessly pushes Monica down the stairs and into the student council vice president Cyril Ashley, but Monica refuses to tell him what happened due to believing he would side with Caroline.

Zatsu Tabi (That’s Journey)

Chika Suzugamori is a college student who has been shopping some manga pitches around to publishers ever since she won a rookie manga award, but keeps getting rejected. Just as she was about to lose hope in ever breaking into the manga industry, she decides on a whim to go traveling without any particular goal. During her journey, Chika meets different people, experiences local cultures, and finds new inspiration for her manga.

Chika visits Matsushima alone and feels a little lonely. Koyomi joins her journey to Kurobe in Toyama.

During an attack by Ash Monkeys on Lag Village the young warrior Kai is saved by Olha Vezin, a Guardian Bearer blessed by the Land God. Kai considers it unfair the monkey’s God-stones which increase spiritual power are given to Bearer’s like Olha, whereas warriors are only granted a few drops each. Kai daydreams about something he envisioned called Magic, a strange power he is sure would be useful if it actually existed. When soldiers from Lag and Banya team up to fight Orgs. In battle Kai manages to push spiritual energy from his own God-stone through his fingers into a fireball.

365 Days to the Wedding (“Kekko surutte, Hontou desuka” literally “Are You Really Getting Married?”)

The J.T.C. travel agency is looking for someone to manage its brand-new branch in Irkutsk. But for employees Takuya Oohara and Rika Honjouji, they’d rather just stay home in Tokyo. Thankfully, they’ve discovered a way out—their manager has narrowed down the recruits to bachelors, so they decide to get married. The problem is they barely know each other at all.

Tonight’s Episode: “Can We Share Our Predicaments?“

Ohara’s father Koichi admits he was joking and Aso village weddings are now much smaller events. Ohara promises to visit Aso at the weekend. Ohara is then asked to accompany Princess Claudia of Liechtbourg as she visits Tokyo. Kurokawa warns him Claudia is married but promiscuous.

Mashle: Magic and Muscles (“Masshuru”)

This is a world of magic where magic is used for everything. But deep in the forest exists a young man who spends his time training and bulking up. He can’t use magic, but he enjoys a peaceful life with his father. His muscular body will have to protect him from the magic users who are out to get him.

Tonight’s Episode: “Mash Burnedead and the Baleful Bully“

Mash draws attention from Lloyd, a bully who openly tortures his classmates due to his father’s position in the Bureau of Magic, and his friendship with Easton’s vice-principal Farman. Is expulsion in the air when Mash defends another of Lloyd’s victims? Is it safe to expel Mash, for nothing will then be constraining his counter-attacks?

SAO alternate: Gun Gale Online season 2

This is a side story from the Sword Art Online universe, this is all new characters – no Kirito or Asuna. We follow the story of Karen Kohiruimaki, a university student with a complex about her abnormal height. She begins playing a VR game called Gun Gale Online after it gives her the cute, petit avatar that she has always wanted.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Great Freight Car Operation“

LPFM find themselves on an island with an unknown region at the center they nickname the “Black Box”. They also discover that the island is slowly sinking, which will eventually funnel all the teams towards the Black Box. Once the first satellite scan starts, LPFM find themselves surrounded by an alliance of teams determined to take them out first.

Solo Leveling 2 – Arise from the Shadows

It’s been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates”—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters.” Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. Notoriously weak hunter named Sung Jin-woo gets a unique opportunity to get stronger.

Tonight’s Episode: “Still a Long Way to Go“

After being trapped in a Gate for ten years, Sung Il-Hwan, Jin-woo’s father, escapes through a Gate in the United States. Dongsoo tries to interrogate Il-hwan, who warns Dongsoo about an imminent threat instead, and when Dongsoo taunts him over his intent to kill Jin-woo, Il-Hwan hospitalises him and escapes custody. Jin-woo reenters the S-Rank dungeon to acquires materials needed for the potion.

Akiba Maid War (Akiba Maid Sensou)

In Akihabara in 1999, a 17-year-old girl named Nagomi Wahira begins her new job working at a pig-themed maid cafe, trying to follow her dream of being a cheerful and hardworking maid. However, Nagomi soon finds the world of maid cafes in Akihabara is a lot more cutthroat than she anticipated at first.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Worth of a Maid’s Fist and Pancreas!“

A figurine seller named Kijima is in town to sell a replica of a rare anime figure to a woman named Taira. Meanwhile, the Creatureland representative decides to enter Ranko in a rigged fighting match at the “Akiba Fluffy & Sweet Club”, owned by Taira, to make up for the cafe’s debt. The competition rapidly goes out of control, including a ringer, Zoya a Russian woman that Ranko met earlier who said that Ranko was not cute enough to be a maid.

DanDaDan part 2

Takakura, an occult maniac who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Ayase, a girl who doesn’t believe in aliens, try to overcome their differences when they encounter the paranormal.

Tonight’s Episode: “You Won’t Get Away with This!“

Momo and Okarun escape Evil Eye and find the death worm spraying poison. Okarun suggests defeating the death worm with sunlight and lets Momo escape first, as he handles freeing Jiji from Evil Eye’s control. Momo begins her plan by setting Jiji’s house on fire and prays for Okarun and Jiji’s safety during their fight.
