JAFWA continues in March

One week before the Autumn Equinox and assorted authorities are not in alignment as to whether it is Autumn or not. Here is hoping that team Bureau of Meteorology is correct and we will have another wonderful autumn evening like last week.
Whatever the weather is like, come to JAFWA and see our fine set of anime episodes.

This week, as well as our regular program, we include a sweet little preview item featuring anxiously fitting in with the cool kids of high-school.
Both Elliot and Greg have provided little 2 minute shows that you might be interested in.

If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like both Lindsay and Elliot did last year, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

The Weakest Tamer Began a Journey to Pick Up Trash (“Saijaku Teimaa wa Gomihiroi no Tabi o Hajimemashita”)

Young Ivy can’t catch a break. Though she has a few memories of her past life, she was reborn into an RPG-like world in the weakest class, and worse, as the weakest rank. As a no-star Tamer, even her parents want nothing to do with her, and she soon realizes she must survive on her own. She learns to live off the land and salvage what she can from other people’s leavings. But when Ivy manages to tame Sora, a lowly slime, everything changes for both of them. There’s something special about this frail little monster, and Ivy’s care will bring out the best in both of them.

This Evening’s Episode: “To a Dangerous Town“

As Ivy gather discarded potions from the campground’s dump site, she is approached by Meela, asking her about disintegrating slimes that Sora is. Her reply about their value triggers the same chills Ivy felt earlier. After some more adventurer encounters, it becomes noticeable that Ivy reacts strongly to malicious people. Which may be helpful as they head to Otolwa, a dangerous town where a criminal organization is abducting people to sell to slavery and have eluded law enforcement. But can Ivy persuade Lattrua that Meela has a dark side?

Dr Stone season 4 “Science Future”

Modern society is lost when a mysterious light leaves everyone petrified in stone. Thousands of years in the future, super genius Senku awakens and begins restoring civilisation with his Kingdom of Science. After the battle on Treasure Island, Senku and the gang return to the Kingdom of Science. With their sights set on the Moon, they must first voyage to the Americas in hopes of beginning to harvest the required materials. Through teamwork and science, they continue the fight to save humanity once and for all.

This Evening’s Episode: “The Two Scientists“

As Senku realizes who Dr. Xeno is, he flashes back to when he was a child still attempting to build his first rocket with Taiju. A failed attempt had him reach out to NASA for assistance, where most of the scientists agreed to not give a child that kind of information. However, a 20 year old Xeno responds with instructions and materials he can use. On the eve of humanity’s petrification, both Xeno and Senku analyze the petrified swallows, with Xeno realizing they’re still alive and can maintain consciousness.

That Time I Was Re-incarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) season 2 part b

37-year-old Satoru Mikami died at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a new world…as the lowest of the low – a slime monster. Now champion of monsters Rimuru Tempest ends the orc war and earns the esteemed title as Slime Chancellor. Now that the Jura Tempest Alliance is growing even further, they will now be meeting the animal kingdom of Eurazania, reuniting with King Gazel, rising tensions between monsters and humans, and Rimuru encountering the strongest enemy he’s ever faced.

Rimuru heads to Walpurgis with Shion and Treyni. Shuna, Hakuro and Souei journey to the Puppet Kingdom of Justin, Clayman’s domain; while Benimaru and the Beastketeers handle the main forces in Milim’s domain. They encounter undead led by a wight named Adalmann, another member of the Five Fingers, who was cursed to guard the land by Clayman.

Uka is entering high school and wishes to change herself, but for what reason? She encounters Kai and his friends during a soda eruption. Perhaps she can open up ans make some friends. School and social situations are so anxiety ridden cursed, especially with cruel bullies. But she strives to melt her stony heart. Can she call out for help? To her “everything”?

The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto) season 2

Apothecary Maomao was just out collecting herbs when she was kidnapped by procurers for the Imperial harem, an easy way for unscrupulous people to get money by having “relatives” go work in the Rear Palace. Hiding her skills and knowledge, Maomao hopes to just glide by, earning as little as possible for her kidnappers during her term of service, but such is not to be: when royal infants begin dying, Maomao can’t resist letting people know the cause. This catches the eye of the far-too-handsome Jinshi, who elevates Maomao from laundry maid to poison taster to the Emperor’s favourite concubine. So much for flying under the radar…

Tonight’s Episode: “The Crystal Pavilion, for the Third Time“

Maomao is summoned by Shenlü, the clinic supervisor she met when she accompanied Ailan to the clinic. Apologizing to her for her attitude towards her the other day, she asks for help with a sick servant from the Wise Consort Lihua’s pavilion, whose request for sick leave had been ignored by higher-ups despite showing symptoms of a contagious illness and has gone missing for half a month.

Oshi no Ko (“My Favorite Idol” or “Their Idol’s Children”) season 2

Goro Amemiya works as an OB-GYN in a small rural town and is a huge fan of upcoming idol Ai Hoshino. After an unexpected meeting, Goro ends up dying suddenly only to be reborn as one of Ai’s children; a boy named Aquamarine Hoshino (or Aqua for short). He and his twin sister Ruby then grows up as one of show-biz’s biggest secrets.
As Aqua continues his quest to find his father—the puppet master behind his mother’s murder—within the Japanese entertainment industry, he finds himself acting in a stage play based on the wildly popular manga Tokyo Blade. Surrounded by competent professionals— including his friends Kana and Akane—it looks like this will be one of his easier jobs… If only things could be that easy.

Tonight’s Episode: “Sun“

The play continues with the Shinjuku and Shibuya factions battling each other, and Tsurugi ends up facing off against Princess Saya alone. During the scene, Akane recalls how she once idolized Kana as a child and became an actress so she could be like her.

Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari) season 3

Naofumi Iwatani was summoned into a fantasy world along with three other people to become the world’s Heroes. Each of the heroes were respectively equipped with their own legendary equipment when summoned. Naofumi happened to receive the Legendary Shield, the sole defensive equipment, while the others received weapons capable of attacking. Unlike the other heroes who are fully supported by the kingdom and gain several strong allies each, Naofumi’s luck turns to the worse, shunned by everyone from the King to peasants, Naofumi is forced to train as a hero alone while working to make ends meet acquiring only the most pitiful of followers.

Tonight’s Episode: “Dragon’s Den“

As Naofumi and his party are about to head after Gaelion, they learn that Filo has started to be inflicted by the curse as a result of her previous connection to the zombie dragon. Atla is able to temporarily heal her, and Filo insists on joining on the journey. Ren regretas, Filo is swallowed and the dragon evolves.

Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Re: Life in a Different World from Zero) season 3

Subaru Natsuki is an ordinary high school student who is lost in an alternate world, where he is rescued by a beautiful, silver-haired girl. He stays near her to return the favour, but the destiny she is burdened with is more than Subaru can imagine. Enemies attack one by one, and both of them are killed. He then finds out he has the power to rewind death, back to the time he first came to this world. But only he remembers what has happened since.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Newest of Heroes and the Most Ancient of Heroes“

Al finds a metia from a witch cultist, inadvertently calling Emilia who informs him of the locations of Regulus and Capella. He delivers her message to Subaru and the group, now joined by Garfiel, at the government office, just as Subaru plans to use the master metia to combat Wrath’s Authority affecting the city, by broadcasting a hopeful message to everyone.

Overlord season 4

With his foundations now set in this new world, the first steps of Ains Ooal Gown’s master plan apparent begin to come to fruition. The value of Carne village and especially the political value of his alter ego Momon are reaffirmed; the “hidden” genius of his actions is continuously met with shock and awe by Demiurge, Albedo, the rest of his guardians, and even Ains himself at his “great wisdom.” His attempts to act in a way befitting the ruler of Nazarick, continuing to further cement his guardian’s loyalty, push him ever further down the path of not-so-intentional world domination.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Impending Crisis“

The Quagoa army attacks the stronghold Feo Jera. Ainz arrives and offers assistance to the General, who is so desperate he accepts immediately. Ainz’ Death Knights push the Quagoa back but two of them are destroyed when Quagoa pack leader Yohz destroys the bridge they are standing on. Ainz offers the Dwarves Regency Council a Trade Alliance as well as Ainz’ guarantee of protection.

Takakura, an occult maniac who doesn’t believe in ghosts, and Ayase, a girl who doesn’t believe in aliens, try to overcome their differences when they encounter the paranormal.

Tonight’s Episode: “A Dangerous Woman Arrives“

Turbo Granny explains that Okarun’s balls, which are now golden kintama, are infused with her aura that draws spirits to it. At school, the student who picked on Okarun, Aira Shiratori, remarks on being able to see Momo’s powers as Aira pulls out a kintama, which she took in the aftermath of Momo and Okarun’s fight with Turbo Granny. More awakening spiritual powers.
