First Screening of 2025, on Saturday 11th January 2025

Rejoice! We are back!

For JAFWA returns for our first screening of 2025, with a new program lineup (we managed to finish everything from 2024). Thus you should be feeling hot for this coming Saturday.

Due to scheduling issues, you won’t be getting the entire new line-up this week, you will have to wait for next week for the other 4 regular items. After the drought of the Summer Break, there may also be the risk of overwhelming our anime starved attendees. Due to the the results of the last survey, it seems we will be showing mostly sequel series.

Weakest Tamer

Reincarnated as a Slime
Oshi no Ko
Shield Hero
Re: Zero

If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like both Lindsay and Elliot did last year, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

Below is the draft program for the evening of Saturday January 11th, 2025

Weakest Tamer

Young Ivy can’t catch a break. Though she has a few memories of her past life, she was reborn into an RPG-like world in the weakest class, and worse, as the weakest rank. As a no-star Tamer, even her parents want nothing to do with her, and she soon realizes she must survive on her own. She learns to live off the land and salvage what she can from other people’s leavings. But when Ivy manages to tame Sora, a lowly slime, everything changes for both of them. There’s something special about this frail little monster, and Ivy’s care will bring out the best in both of them.

This Evening’s Episode:On a Journey Alone

Along the way, she remembers pieces of her past life, and heeding the advice of her past life, she takes on a boyish appearance and a new name, Ivy. Ivy befriends a disintegrating slime, the weakest monster in existence and the only monster she can tame, and shares her life struggles with it.
