No JAFWA screening until Saturday 14th December 2024!
December is upon us and JAFWA‘s last screening of 2024, before we thake some Summer Holidays and return in 2025 for an all new program. On the 14th, we will have finish off the last two regular series in the JAFWA program (“Frieren” and “Chainsaw Man”), as well as have some other interesting items. The movie is probably going to be “Blue Thermal”, though we have “Mirai” in reserve.
Though many of our members might be experimenting with this (possibly over-rated) thing called “Life” this weekend, be aware that there are a couple of anime movies in cinemas starting this Thursday 5sup December. First there is the delightful “Ghost Cat Anzu” movies for younger audiences, that I reviewed back in November. And to my surpise, the recent “Solo Levelling” TV series has a movie, which I am not certain if this movie is the first several episodes of the TV series or a whole new story.
Though before Thursday, there are still some movies left in the Experience the Magic of Studio Ghibli on 35mm Film at The Revival House Perth, Como Theatre.
If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like Lindsay did in March, or Elliot in November, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, as Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

- December 21st 2024 to January 11th 2025 — JAFWA takes a break over Summer to recharge and enjoy the Holiday Season and Festivities.
- Saturday January 18th 2025, normal Summer hours — JAFWA’s glorious return with all new regular program!
