No Screening this Saturday, 7th September 2024

No JAFWA screening until Saturday 14th September 2024!

Now the Bureau of Meteorology may claim we are now in the Season of Spring, but be aware that we here at JAFWA will be remaining on Winter Hours until October.
Hopefully this helps distract you from the shock of going out and enjoying life without attending JAFWA (if you can call such a life “enjoyable”) this weekend. Meanwhile your beloved committee is working hard to determine which new regular series begin next screening session.

Things aren’t entirely bleak on the anime front. Assorted cinemas this week are showing the latest in the Meitantei Conan franchise with Detective Conan: Million-dollar Pentagram, some of them even in the original Japanese language with English subtitles, so choose wisely.
If you happen to be down Bunbury way, be aware that you can attend the South West Japan Festival.
And don’t forget that on the weekend is the Evolve Perth convention at Cannington Exhibition Centre & Showgrounds, behind the Bunnings that host our sausage sizzles.

If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like Lindsay did in March, and the one coming in November, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.
