Screening on the evening of Saturday, March 9th 2024

We return from our week break, convinced that our members did not suffer too much anime withdrawal thanks to various cinemas screening the introduction to the next season of “Demon Slayer” anime – “DEMON SLAYER – KIMETSU NO YAIBA – T0 THE HASHIRA TRAINING”. We advised watching it subtitled whenever and wherever possible.
And I suspect that our beloved otaku may also be waiting for this Thursday when “Gundam SEED FREEDOM” appears subtitled in various cinemas.

This week we return to our normal scheduled anime series, with but a single change. Now that we finished “Dr Stone” for the time being, we are replacing it with the gentle, rural slice of life of “Non Non Biyori nonstop” (the third season).

Non Non Biyori Nonstop (season 3)

In the countryside small town village of Asahigaoka, a place lacking many of the conveniences that people from the city are accustomed to. The nearest stores are a few miles away and one of the local schools consists of only five students, each of whom is in a different grade of elementary or middle school. Hotaru Ichijo, a fifth grader from Tokyo, transfers into Asahigaoka Branch School and has to adjust to countryside life with her new friends.

This evening’s Episode: “Just Before the Start! Let’s Review Together!! / I Played the Frog Song“

The girls make dolls with tooth-picks and tape, and prank teacher Kazuho (who is Renge’s older sister). Konomi invites new highschool student Akane for flute practice and sends Renge to meet her at the bus stop. Renge reveals why she was practicing the recorder-flute with so much diligence.

Spy x Family – part 2b

In order to ensure World Peace, a master spy who has to “build a family” to execute a mission, not realising that the girl he adopts as his daughter is a telepath, and the woman he agrees to be in a marriage with is a skilled assassin.

This Evening’s Episode: “Enjoy the Resort to the Fullest / Bragging About Vacation“

After the violent bodyguard assignment, the Forgers reunite as the Princess Lorelei arrives at a resort island where they enjoy various outdoor activities together. When the evening comes, Loid carries an exhausted Yor and Anya back on the ship, and commends Yor on her hard works. Returning to school after the school break, Anya tries to brag to her friends about the cruise, but it’s soon shadowed by Becky’s grander party and made fun by her classmates because of its absurdity.

The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today (Dekiru Neko wa Kyou mo Yuuutsu)

One day, a young woman named Saku took in a stray black cat who she later named Yukichi. However, as time went on, Yukichi grew large enough to be mistaken for a bear. Instead of being a threat though, Yukichi spends his time cooking food, doing laundry, and taking care of his owner after she comes home from hard days at work.

This Evening’s Episode: “The Masterful Cat Also Goes to Birthday Parties“

Fukuzawa Saku has done something Yukichi intensely rejects, he smells that she patted a dog. But she is helpless as a baby without Yukichi’s supervision. But then Saku recieves an invitation the the Chief’s young neice Yume’s birthday party. Yuki-san is also invited. How can Yukichi say no? How can Saku deal with this? How can Yukichi deal with Saku’s slovenly approach to her worthless life?

The Apothecary Diaries (Kusuriya no Hitorigoto)

Apothecary Maomao was just out collecting herbs when she was kidnapped by procurers for the Imperial harem, an easy way for unscrupulous people to get money by having “relatives” go work in the Rear Palace. Hiding her skills and knowledge, Maomao hopes to just glide by, earning as little as possible for her kidnappers during her term of service, but such is not to be: when royal infants begin dying, Maomao can’t resist letting people know the cause. This catches the eye of the far-too-handsome Jinshi, who elevates Maomao from laundry maid to poison taster to the Emperor’s favorite concubine. So much for flying under the radar…

Tonight’s Episode: “The Garden Party“

Amidst the hubbub of the garden party, Maomao is caught in the proxy wars between the concubines’ ladies-in-waiting, with one of Lihua’s ladies talking smack about her, not knowing she is just infront of her. She also experiences getting two more hairpins, one of them is from Lady Lihua herself. Things rear its ugly head when Maomao finds Gyokuyou’s soup poisoned.

Ancient Magus Bride season 2 (Mahou Tsukai no Yome)

Chise Hatori, 15 years old. Lost, without hope, and without family, she is bought for money … not by another person, but by a non-human sorcerer named Elias. Though she hesitates, she begins life anew as his apprentice and future wife. Now grown more confident in her role as a sleigh beggy, Chise was able to accept Elias and herself, if not necessarily everything about her situation. After Cartaphilus fell back into a slumber that would not last forever, Chise was able to go back to her regular life. Then she receives an invitation from a mutual aid organization for mages called the College.

Tonight’s Episode: “Even a worm will turn.“

Alcyone recalls helping raise Philomena from the day she was born. Now, with Philomena mutated Alcyone fears she has failed. The unknown woman is revealed as the goddess Dark Lady, wife of the Horned God, and she demands Chise pay what she is owed; the Golden Branch, a reference to mistletoe and a blood sacrifice, though the details are unclear. Elias delays her request, claiming Chise is too young.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury (Kidou Senshi Gandamu: Suisei no Majo)

An era when a multitude of corporations have entered space and built a huge economic system. A lone girl from the remote planet Mercury transfers to the Asticassia School of Technology, run by the Beneritt Group which dominates the mobile suit industry. Her name is Suletta Mercury. With a scarlet light burning in her pure heart, this girl walks step by step through a new world.

Tonight’s Episode: “Our Empty Selves“

Having lost her Holder title and ownership of the Aerial, Suletta copes by focusing on her studies. However, the Earth House sees that she is bottling up her feelings and takes her to meet Miorine to talk things out. Meanwhile, with Shaddiq leading in the election polls and Guel struggling to rebuild his company, Miorine opts to campaign on peacefully ending the Earthian riots. Then there is Suletta’s family.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 2

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto were not always enemies. Long before they had what was supposed to be their final encounter during the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, the pair were fellow students, rivals, and friends. In another world, they would have been the twin shining stars of Jujutsu Sorcery, but one fateful event destroyed any hope of that ever happening. Turn back the clock to witness the mission that drove them to curse one another beyond even death.

Tonight’s Episode: “Thunderclap“

Megumi fights Toji, but continues to be overwhelmed by his power and speed, but perhaps Toji recognoses the son he sold. Meanwhile, Kusakabe has been stalling with Panda patrolling around Shibuya so as not to get into any fights, when they encounter some of Geto’s old followers; their fight is then interrupted by Sukuna and Jogo’s battle.

Undead Unluck

Fuuko Izumo is known as a woman cursed with “Unluck.” Fuuko brings misfortune to anyone who touches her and the scale is proportional to how long they had physical contact. She’s saved by Andy, a man who cannot die (“Undead”). He hopes to figure out a way to use Fuuko’s misfortune to finally bring him death. The unlikely pair team up to complete missions given to them by the Book of Revelations, but if they or any of the other negators in their union fail, the book can punish humanity.

Tonight’s Episodes: “Dream“

When Fuuko and Shen ask the children what happened, they receive an explanation that explains how living for your unspoilt dreams keeps the countdown so high. Fuuko and Shen leave the bunker to join Andy, who is fighting Spoil with the help of the zombies. Unluck causes some harm to Spoil, but he retaliates by transforming.

The Eminence in Shadow (Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute!)

Even in his past life, Cid’s dream wasn’t to become a protagonist or a final boss. He’d rather lie low as a minor character until it’s prime time to reveal he’s a mastermind or at least, do the next best thing-pretend to be one. And now that he’s been reborn into another world, he’s ready to set the perfect conditions to live out his dreams to the fullest.

Tonight’s Episode: “Moonlight That Pierces the Darkness“

Cid overhears the Moonlight Sonata, a personal favorite musical piece of his for its brooding tone, being played on a nearby piano and quickly finds Epsilon is the one performing it. She explains she has been able to cultivate useful connections by posing as a skilled pianist. Rose, now suffering more seriously from her infected blood, considers surrendering to avoid dragging Oriana into a war. She suddenly hears the Sonata and finds Shadow playing a piano. She realizes she cannot surrender, so Eminence cures her blood infection and grants her power before vanishing.

Goblin Slayer season 2

In a world of fantasy, adventurers come far and wide to join the Guild, in order to complete contracts for whatever jobs are available. An inexperienced priestess joins her first adventuring party, but comes into danger after her first adventurer contract involving goblins goes wrong. After the rest of her party is wiped out, she is saved by a man known as Goblin Slayer, an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of goblins with extreme prejudice. And when rumours of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next.

Tonight’s Episode: “Jungle Cruise” season 2

Priestess insists on moving One Who Stops Water away from the village rather than killing it. Goblin Slayer notices a goblin riding the creature, trying to steer it. High Elf Archer kills the goblin, allowing Dwarf Shaman, Lizard Priest and Goblin Slayer to capture One Who Stops Water. Sword Maiden deciphers the tablet and realises it will be of use to Goblin Slayer. Goblin Slayer decides to kill the goblins before the wedding. Sailing upriver, they eventually discover the goblins have settled in an elven fortress that dams the river.
