No Screening on Saturday October 5^th, 2019. Enjoy MadFest!

This is our usual once a month break, to recharge our batteries, and let you dear JAFWAites enjoy/suffer through the messy organic thing called ‘Life’. Though we expect that more than a few of our members will be attending MadFest over the weekend at the Perth Convention Centre, where JAFWA will have a stall to promote ourselves.

On December 14^th we will have our end of year marathon screening, before we take a break until January, and your Suggestions are welcome. The JAFWA committee has already scheduled room for “Akira”, and we have received a request for the movie “Millenium Actress”, as well as the “Girls und Panzer” movie, and something “Gundam”. Any other requests/suggestions?
Be aware, we also intend to run an auction on behalf of our members. Tell us what you want us to auction of yours, preferably well in advance, so we can schedule enough time into the program, as well as inform people so that they can bring plenty of money to bid. Already, a couple of expensive Attack on Titan figures have been offered.

While JAFWA member Dale is offering to do a bulk import order of Japanese calendars, in order to reduce shipping costs, no-one seems to have taken note during the pre-order discount period. The 2020 calendars are being to be listed in dribs and drabs, as seen here or here, with more to come as the publishing companies confirm their schedules. Will anyone be interested in ordering Japanese calendars via Dale?
