We have a double-length first episode preview this week, for those of you who will stay with us on this Easter weekend.
We also say farewell to regular series “Hinamatsuri” and “Goblin Slayer”.

Be aware that there is a free anime screening down at Success Library on Thursday April 18.

JAFWA will be doing a Bunnings Sausage Sizzle fundraiser next month, on Saturday May 4^th, 2019 in Cannington. Volunteers to help will be appreciated.

Irozuka Sekai no Ashita kara (Iroduku: The World in Colours)

In Nagasaki, a descendant of mages, 17-year-old Hitomi lost her sense of colour at a young age and grew up lacking emotion. Her grandmother Kohaku, a great mage, sends Hitomi 60 years into the past, to the year 2018. There, she spends time with a 17-year-old Kohaku and friends from school club activities.

This evening’s Episode: “The Waning Moon ”

Hitomi finds herself getting emotional over Aoi, but the time magic that brought her to the past is fading. There is intense preparation for the Magic Photography Art Club to get prepared for the Culture Festival. But Hitomi can’t quite focus, not having enthusiasm to return to the future.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These (aka Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu Die Neue These Kaikou)

In humanity’s distant future, two interstellar states – the monarchic Galactic Empire and the democratic Free Planets Alliance – are embroiled in a never-ending war. The story focuses on the exploits of rivals Reinhard von Lohengramm and Yang Wen-li as they rise to power and fame in the Galactic Empire and the Free Planets Alliance respectively.

This evening’s Episode: “Interlude ”

Yang Wen-li’s victory at Iserlohn has altered the war in favour of the Free Planets Alliance, and emboldened them to plan to invade the Galactic Empire. The independent Dominion of Phezzan would like the to star-spanning powers to be more evenly matched, so that Phezzan’s profits will grow. But can the FPA afford a successful invasion of the Galactic Empire? The Galactic Empire plans its response.

Houseki no Kuni (Land of the Lustrous)

In a possibly future Earth inhabited by jewels that take the form of people, Phosphophyllite (Phos) is weak (with one of the lowest hardnesses) and considered useless by their peers. Phos asks their aloof but wise colleague Cinnabar for help after they receive an assignment to create a history encyclopedia, thus begin their friendship and personal growth. Meanwhile, the “jewel people” have to keep defending themselves against the Lunarians who want to take advantage of their luxury value.

This evening’s Episode: “Secrets ”

The Lustrous discover that every time they slice through the current invading Lunarian, it splits into increasingly smaller clones of itself, eventually winding up in tiny dog-like form. After almost all the smaller pieces are found and caged, the Lunarian reforms into its original size but is tamed by Master Kongou, who refers to it as “Shiro”.

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime)

Living alone and never having had a girlfriend, 37-year-old Satoru Mikami is dissatisfied with how his life has turned out. But after dying at the hands of a robber, he awakens to a fresh start in a new world…as the lowest of the low – a slime monster.

Tonight’s Episode: “Gabiru Is Here! ”

Benimaru and the other evolved ogres are fitting in at Rimiru’s village. Gabiru, the named Lizardman, arrives at Rimuru’s village to try and get everyone to serve under him to fight the orcs. Can Gobta defeat Gabiru and his lizardmen in a duel? But how will Rimuru deal with a Dryad?

Hinamatsuri

Yakuza member Yoshifumi Nitta, ends up taking care of a mysterious girl with telekinetic powers named Hina who inexplicably appeared in his apartment. Even though she threatens him with her extraordinary powers.

Tonight’s Episode: “Yukimatsuri ” (Finale)

Hina is lost in the mountains with Hitomi and two other classmates. After building an igloo, Hina tries to prove that she can use her powers to help out, but runs out of energy after going hungry. Three years later, and shipwrecked Mao has reached SE Asia and is now the top student at a Chinese qigong school of “Superhuman Martial Arts” while a Japanese street rocker tries to learn how to recreate Hina’s “Rockusion” stunt from before.

preview item – Rising of the Shield Hero (Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari)

Naofumi Iwatani was summoned into a parallel world along with three other people to become the world’s Heroes. Each of the heroes were respectively equipped with their own legendary equipment when summoned. Naofumi happened to receive the Legendary Shield, the sole defensive equipment, while the others received weapons capable of attacking. Unlike the other heroes who are fully supported by the kingdom and gain several strong allies each, Naofumi’s luck turns to the worse, shunned by everyone from the King to peasants, Naofumi is forced to train as a hero alone while working to make ends meet acquiring only the most pitiful of followers. As he little by little gain the trust and gratitude of the people with their heroic actions, Naofumi and his companions work hard to fulfill their mission as saviors of the world, while unraveling its deepest secrets.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Shield Hero ”

While browsing shelves in a library, college student Naofumi Iwatani finds a fantasy book which speaks of “Four Heroes.” As he reads, he is summoned to another universe along with three other boys, to the end that they might save mankind from a prophesied, recurrent evil known as the Wave. Each of the four has been assigned one of four special weapons: a spear, a sword, a bow, and a shield, the latter of which is Naofumi’s. When partners are assigned, nobody wishes to join Naofumi, believing the shield to be the weakest of the four.

Goblin Slayer

In a world of fantasy, adventurers come far and wide to join the Guild, in order to complete contracts for whatever jobs are available. An inexperienced priestess joins her first adventuring party, but comes into danger after her first adventurer contract involving goblins goes wrong. After the rest of her party is wiped out, she is saved by a man known as Goblin Slayer, an adventurer whose only purpose is the eradication of goblins with extreme prejudice. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Adventurers Feast ” and “The Fate of an Adventurer ” (Finale)

Goblin Slayer concludes that a horde of over a hundred goblins will attack the farm soon. He warns Cow Girl he cannot fight that many goblins in the open and urges her to run, but she refuses to abandon her home for a second time. Goblin Slayer heads to town to ask the other adventurers for help. But Adventurers only go on a quest for reward, what can Goblin Slayer offer them? But his is not without friends and allies. But the Goblins are led by something more terrible than a Hobgoblin or Goblin Champion. Goblin Slayer is just another pawn on the board to the gods, but the gods have taken an interest in him due to his refusal to let the gods roll the dice on his actions.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken – Ougen no Kaze (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure – Golden Wind)

Set in 2001, two years after the events of Diamond is Unbreakable, Koichi Hirose is sent to Italy and tasked by Jotaro Kujo to search for Giorno Giovanna, an aspiring mafia gangster who is a son of Dio Brando. But as Dio possessed the body of Jonathan Joestar at time of his conception, Giorno is technically a Joestar and takes more after them than the father he never knew. The series follows Giorno as he joins the mafia organization Passione, moving up through its ranks with the intention of becoming its boss to improve life in Italy.

Abbacchio, Fugo and Giorno are in Pompeii to retrieve a key for the boss. But Hitman member Illuso has already captured Fugo in a mirror. While Giorno stays to try and find Fugo, Abbacchio attempts to retrieve the key, but Illuso uses a nearby piece of mirror to draw him into the mirror world. However, Abbacchio tricks Illuso into taking Moody Blues into the mirror, but Illuso counterattacks, leaving half of Abbachio and Moody Blues in each world.
