No Screening this Saturday, 3rd August 2024

No JAFWA screening until Saturday 10th August 2024!

Now in the middle of Winter we are all out there enjoying life without JAFWA (if you can call such a life “enjoyable”) this week. Be aware that a bean poll last week decided that the new series starting in August is the delightfully named “‘Tis Time for Torture, Princess”. The question may now be – First item of the night or just before the Dinner Break?

Next Sunday you have the opportunity to get some Studio Ghibli goodness down at Luna Double Feature at Luna SX in Fremantle – “The Boy and the Heron” and “Spirited Away” $15, in Japanese with English subtitles.

The only other cool thing happening in the next couple of weeks is International Patlabor Day on August 10th. Do you know where your Ingram is?

If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like Lindsay did in March, and the one coming in November, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.
