Screening of Saturday 19th October 2024

Screening on the evening of Saturday, October 19th 2024

Many thanks that so many people turned out for last week’s JAFWA screening. This week we should probably ask hard-working Librarian Kris to raise his Sun Disactivator, unless someone can arrange for overcast weather.

While JAFWA may be your best beloved anime source, there are a couple of other possibilities out there this week.
Firstly The Japanese Film Festival is screening in Perth at the Palace Theaters in Raine Square, and there is a couple of anime movies in the program, assuming they aren’t yet sold out.
Secondly, at the Palace Theater and select other theaters is the latest “My Hero Academia” movie entitled “You’re Next”. Do be careful about the session you choose being subbed or dubbed.

Your beloved JAFWA committee has re-arranged the program for the rest of the year so that as few as possible regular series are forced to take a long break over the end of year. Somehow we have managed to put in a very fresh preview item this week, and Greg describes it as the girls who failed to get into “Little Witch Academia”.
This week will be a lack of torture but two episodes of “Spice and Wolf”, as well as two episodes of “Kaijuu No.8” to improve your anime viewing.

Stories of Girls Who Couldn't be Magicians

If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like Lindsay did in March, and the one coming in November, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan in advance please.

And there is the end of year irregular screening to consider. What do you want to see in it?

Below is the draft program for the evening of Saturday October 19th, 2024.
