No JAFWA screening until Saturday 8th June 2024!
This Saturday, while you are all out there enjoying life without JAFWA (if you can call such a life “enjoyable”), spare an appreciative thought for your respected JAFWA committee members hard at work designing the program for June. We are feeling the effects of all the regular series that came to an end during April and May so the when JAFWA returns on June 8th, our program will have holes requiring a few new regular series that are yet to be decided. Your beloved committee’s decision on filling those 3 holes in the program will be skewed by the survey performed last week, so we hope you rated the options wisely.
We expect that members who have done extra-curricula anime watching of the “Haikyuu” sports anime will go to see the animated feature ” HAIKYU!!: THE DUMPSTER BATTLE” expected in various cinemas, from Thursday June 30th.
If you don’t want to sponsor an entire night like Lindsay did in March, there is the other scheme for our signed up members. On the night nearest your birthday, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.
The other big decision coming up is the JAFWA annual election to be held during the Dinner Break of the JAFWA screening of July 20th. This will be later in the evening after the AGM that we need all signed up JAFWA members to attend when it starts in the afternoon at 2PM in the same Hall.

- Monday July 8th 2024, ~6:30PM — Luna Double Feature at Luna Cinemas Leederville – “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind” and “Ponyo” $15.
- Weekend July 13/14th 2024, 9AM-4PM — Anime in the Valley at Swan Settlers Market in Herne Hill. It is a bit of a hike so make certain to leave early to reach JAFWA in time (Winter hours)
- Saturday August 25th 2024, ~9AM to 1PM — Collectors Zone – Toy & Hobby Fair at ECU Sports and Fitness Centre, Joondalup.
- Weekend September 28/29th 2024, — Pixel Expo at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre. Leave early in time for JAFWA.
- Saturday November 24th 2024, ~9AM to 1PM — Collectors Zone – Toy & Hobby Fair at ECU Sports and Fitness Centre, Joondalup.
