Screening of Saturday 26th April 2025

JAFWA reached the end of April

April has gone so fast, with the JAFWA regular program winding down, ready for a renewal in May (during our Winter Hours). We have a couple of special end-of-month activities:
First, during the Dinner Break we will have a special survey to help determine which shows will be happening in May. Just as the Japanese battle-cruise Ibuki escorted and guarded the first ANZAC troop carriers, we suggest it is your JAFWA duty to help guide the course of JAFWA‘s program with disciplined wisdom.
Secondly, after the usual Door Prize draw (where you can buy extra tickets) we will have the monthly Member’s Prize draw (which gets you entries based on how many times you attended JAFWA screenings this month).

Specifically to this week’s program we are pausing “Dr Stone – Science Future” (on an awesome plot point no less) while we await Japan to reveal more episodes scheduled for July. “Apothecary Diaries” does not appear to have a delay before the second cour. We show the final two episodes of the current season of “Oshi no Ko” and “Overlord”. And we finish the first season of “DanDaDan, but dread not for there will be a second season later this year, for in June there will be a movie out in Perth cinemas “DanDaDan – Evil Eye” that comprises the first 3 episodes of the second season and presumably some exposition to explain the first season.
With all that excitement JAFWA still has room for a requested preview episode before the survey, and room before the Late Break for an OAV based off of the work of horror manga-ka Junji Ito.

On the night nearest your birthday, as Greg and Sally did, you can nominate something to play during the Dinner Break (limited to 30 minutes max). You may have to help us source this material, so plan and inform us in advance please.

Hiding her skills and knowledge, Maomao hopes to just glide by, earning as little as possible for her kidnappers during her term of service, but such is not to be: when royal infants begin dying, Maomao can’t resist letting people know the cause. Aqua meanwhile takes Akane to the local hospital to ask about the fate of his previous life, only to find out Gorou is currently declared missing. After her part of the filming ends, Ruby leaves with Akane, but her inn key is stolen by a crow. However, when they chase the crow into a cave, they find Gorou’s corpse, much to Ruby’s disbelief. Aqua admits to Akane that he was subtly manipulating her to find Gorou’s body. Now having closure, he can start a real relationship with Akane. Ruby is later approached by a white-haired girl, who informs her that both Ai and Gorou were murdered by the same man and that he had an accomplice, suggesting that Ruby find the truth.
