Annual General Meeting and Screening on Saturday 17th July 2021

Annual General Meeting before JAFWA Screening

This it!
The long announced AGM finally upon us!

Please be advised that on the 17th of July 2021, the Japanese Animation Fans of Western Australia (inc.) will be holding it’s 2021 Annual General Meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Collins Street Centre in South Perth from 3:00pm onwards. The regular screening will commence afterwards, and during the dinner break the committee election should have been held (lack of nominees).

We request that all current financial members attend to meet quorum requirements and to have your voices heard! Please arrive about 10 minutes early.

If you have any matters you would like to have raised at the meeting, please email them through to jafwa.anime@gmail.com. Preferably sufficiently in advance so that we can accurately prepare our response.
Currently, this is the list of submitted AGM agenda items.

  • Should the screenings go as late as they do during winter (the hall gets quite cold)?
  • Rescheduling the marathon. Is it worth it to do the marathon anymore?

Screening of July 17th 2021

Once the AGM is over, stay for the anime!

It will be the usual program, minus one regular item to allow us to preview a first episode of a new and interesting anime. A somewhat different take on a classic Japanese tale.

Peach Boy Riverside

Japanese 2022 calendars are starting to show up for pre-order. Anybody interested in being part of a bulk order this year?

Annual General Meeting and Elections

Being an incorporated club, JAFWA is required to hold annual elections, which will be occurring on July 17th.
Anyone can nominated to enter the elections, so long as they are:

  1. A fully registered and paid up member of JAFWA for 3 months before the election.
  2. Resident of WA.

If you haven’t done so before, being involved in a non-for-profit organisational committee is a great way to learn some new skills and be a part of something great. The JAFWA committee hopes to see you at the AGM to discuss the progress of your club, and looks forward to any new blood and ideas for the future of JAFWA.

Covid-19 Safety Precautions

We continue taking precautions to limit the possible future waves of CoVid-19, and we ask that you co-operate and even help where possible with our efforts to keep you safe – some social distancing, extra cleaning with antiseptic, library under limited access, etc. Also, we must ask that anyone unfortunate enough to be infected to not attend JAFWA until they are contagion free.
– Help is always welcome during set-up and pack-up due to the extra duties imposed by COVID-19 precautions.
