movie – Liz to Aoi Tori (Liz and the Blue Bird)

The film focuses on the friendship of high school students and musicians Mizore and Nozomi as they prepare for a concert with their school’s brass band; in parallel, it also depicts a fairy tale, from which the music piece worked on by the band is adapted, as a story within a story. Mizore is a quiet, introverted student in her third and final year of high school, who is an oboist in the school’s concert band. Her only friend, who occupies most of her thoughts, is Nozomi, one of the band’s flutists, who is much more outgoing and popular. Together, the two rehearse a duet from the musical piece Liz and the Blue Bird, which is based on an eponymous, fictional German fairy tale that Nozomi loved as a child. The story is about a young woman named Liz (represented by the oboe in the musical piece) and an unnamed blue bird turned human (represented by the flute) who become best friends and live together, until the two are forced to part ways. Nozomi and Mizore realize that the story applies closely to their own relationship, which worries Mizore; she sees herself as Liz and Nozomi as the fleeting blue bird.

Cells at Work (Hataraku Saibou)

The world is a dangerous place for a red blood cell just trying to get her deliveries finished. Fortunately, she’s not alone… she’s got a whole human body’s worth of cells ready to help out. The mysterious white blood cell, the buff and brash killer T cell, the nerdy neuron, even the cute little platelets — everyone’s got to come together if they want to keep you healthy.

Tonight’s Episode:The Common Cold

A Normal Cell who is bored of his monotonous duties and annoyed by his rowdy Killer T-Cell neighbors is befriended by a mysterious cell who doesn’t speak and wears a strange hat. The two have fun pulling pranks on various cells. Eventually, the stranger reveals himself to be a cell infected by a virus, with his hat being the replicating virus.

Escha Chron

Best friends sensible Escha and scatter-brained Chron are a couple of girls enjoying life together in care-free days. They have been together since a mysterious child-hood, and are on a wandering journey to return home, if they can find it.

Tonight’s Episodes:Summer Reawakened” and “Footprints in Snow

Following a cat, Chron wanders into the yard of famous musician Hayate Kasai, who has some difficulty with her upbeatness. But he has more difficulty with his composing, facing a form of writer’s block. Can the intrusive Chron become his muse?
The second episode finds them stranded in a blizzard, and accepting a lift and hospitality from a fellow train traveller. There they encounter some family tension in a hot-springs resort. Escha and Chron have a way of revitalising things.

Lupin III

Arsène Lupin III, the grandson of the fictional gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin, is considered the world’s greatest thief, known for announcing his intentions to steal valuable objects by sending a calling card to their owners. His right-hand man and closest ally is Daisuke Jigen, an expert marksman who can accurately shoot a target in 0.3 seconds. Although Lupin and Jigen frequently work as a two-man team, they are often joined by Goemon Ishikawa XIII, a master swordsman whose sword can cut anything, or Fujiko Mine, a femme fatale and Lupin’s love interest. Although Fujiko usually works together with the others, she occasionally exploits Lupin’s interest in her to steal the treasure for herself. Lupin and his gang are constantly chased by Inspector Koichi Zenigata of Interpol, who has made it his life’s work to arrest them, pursuing Lupin across the globe

Tonight’s Episode:50th Anniversary Special – Is Lupin Still Burning

The eternal chase of Inspector Zenigata to capture the great thief Lupin III moves to the race-course. For an old enemy of Lupin has organised a motor-race with a prize that Lupin cannot ignore. But Lupin isn’t the only one looking for the treasure, as Lupin’s career has been long and he has had many terrible foes. That he will have a chance to revisit, as he takes a trip down memory lane.

movie – Akira

In the year 2019, thirty-one years have passed since the outbreak of World War III. In Neo-Tokyo, all authority is waging a never-ending struggle against the underground that virtually rules the shattered city. A top-secret child with amazing powers of the minds breaks free from custody and accidentally gets a motorcycle gang involved in the project. The incident triggers psychic powers within one of the members, Tetsuo, and he is taken by the army and experimented on. His mind has been warped and is now on the path of war, exacting revenge on the society that once called him weak. Thus he seeks out the secret of “Akira”.

Soon the officers will discover a sorceress named Liberty who has been animating toys in order to bring joy to the city. She objects when the police officers try to arrest her for various property damage and other offences. But just before an animated truck can harm Kido-san, a superhero dressed in a pink teddy bear themed costume comes to her rescue. Can the animated Apple prevent Libeerty from causing more chaos? And when their battle awakens something far, far worse at the museum, will New York City survive this Christmas Eve?
