Screening on Saturday 30th June 2018

NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Please be advised that on the 21st of July 2018 the Japanese Animation Fans of Western Australia will be holding it’s 2018 Annual General Meeting.

The meeting will be held at the Collins Street Centre in South Perth from 3:00pm onwards. The regular screening will commence afterwards, and during the dinner break the committee election will be held.

We request that all current members attend to meet quorum requirements and to have your voices heard!

If you have any matters you would like to have raised at the meeting, please email them through to
jafwa.anime@gmail.com.
Or leave your query or statement at the front desk via the suggestion box.

The JAFWA committee has a few constitutional amendments to make that requires the approval and voting by the JAFWA membership.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Event Afternoon

JAFWA has the hall from about 12:30PM to 4:30PM, where it is make our own amusement time.

In the past people have brought along video games and the hardware to play them, and sewing machines for cosplay creating. What do you want to do? Just so long as it fun, legal, and ethical. Hence selling/auctioning off unwanted relatives will fail to tick all these boxes.

Does anybody have their own game machine and games they want their fellow JAFWAites to play? JAFWA will bring out the projector and screen. I am not certain we have access to the outdoor area, but we will try to keep you off the street.

Also, we should probably avoid scuffing the floor of the Hall.

Screening

Below is the program for the evening of Saturday June 30th, 2018. After the Event Afternoon.

Everybody should be rested and recuperated after the weekend of either celebrating the Winter Solstice, or attending SupaNova. In order to help stabilise your heightened jubilation levels, we have a short anime movie this week that is a semi-documentary, relating to certain events that the cities of Hiroshima and Hagasaki share. Can you guess what?

We have now started all our new regular series for this month, but we do have room for another sample preview item, before the Dinner Break. During the Dinner Break we will be taking another survey to gauge the attitudes of our dear JAFWAites to the various anime titles we screen and have screened. Please vote honestly and in ordinal order.
Encouragingly, we even have a Suggestion Sheet handed in by Christopher, suggesting that we add “Tokyo Ghoul Re:” to the program. Would many people be in favour of JAFWA screening a preview episode?

Gegege no Kitarou Junod

It is an unfotunate fact, but in Winter we are not able to properly keep the Hall warm. A reminder to bring along warm clothing.
