Screening

Below is the program for the evening of Saturday December 9^th, 2017.

This is the last regular screening of 2017. The week after will be the End of Year Marathon full of requested stuff. Then we take a break and return in January 2018, with a lot of new regular series.
In order to make room for the new series, we will have to have some double episodes tonight to finish off some current series, and leave some of the continuing series at a good pause point.
Meanwhile, we are going to have one last survey to help determine what our dear JAFWAites most want to see in the new 2018 program layout.

Late breaking Site News!
We have been informed by the Cty of South Perth that the top car park at the Collins Street Centre will be closed for the duration of Wednesday 29 November to Wednesday 13 December 2017 inclusive for the mural installation on the front of the building. The front entry door will also not be accessible and entry into Collins Street Centre will be from a side gate to the right of the hall (near the little playgroup area).

Synopsis

Little Witch Academia TV

Akko Kagari enrolls into Luna Nova Academy, a school for young witches, after being inspired at a young age by a witch named Shiny Chariot, and often spends her days hanging with her classmates, Lotte and Sucy. However, she has trouble paying attention in class, doesn’t know how to ride her broom, and is often looked down upon for admiring Chariot, whom many believe gives the wrong impression about witches.

This evening’s Episode: “The Road to Arcturus” and “Changing at the Edge of the World / The tree of the Leaf-Words” (finale)

Croix uses the emotions of the rioting mobs to activate her creation, the Noir Rod, managing to disable all magic across the country. As Akko and friends confront Croix and the Noir Rod in Arcturus Forest, Croix attempts to to unseal the Grand Triskelion. However things do not go to plan, as the Noir Rod goes berserk from the out-of-control emotions of the rioters. Can nine witches save the World?

Isekai Shokudou (Restaurant to Another World)

The Western Restaurant Nekoya is a restaurant situated in a mundane corner of an undisclosed Tokyo shopping district which, despite its name, offers a lot of Japanese dishes in addition to Western ones. It opens during usual business hours and closed during holidays and weekends. But secretly it is open on Saturdays, as on this particular day it creates doorways to another world inhabited by elves, dragons, animal men and other fantastic creatures, who enter the restaurant and partake on its menu, with all of them becoming regular patrons.

This evening’s Episode: “Hamburg Steak / Assorted Cookies”

A young fisherman named Roukei is rescued by the mermaid Arte, and as repayment for his life Arte asks him to take her out to the Nekoya, where they both come to enjoy the restaurant’s Hamburg steaks and each other’s company. In the meantime, Aletta finds an additional steady job as a housekeeper at Sarah Gold’s residence. The master gives her a congratuatory gift of some exquisite cookies, that leads to Aletta getting some surprising acceptance.

Made in Abyss

An orphan girl named Riko who lives in the town of ?su on an island in the sea of Beoluska. The city surrounds a strange, giant hole going deep into the earth, which is commonly called the Abyss. The Abyss harbors artefacts and remnants of a civilisation long gone, and is therefore the popular hunting spot for so-called Cave Raiders, who undertake arduous and dangerous descends into the mist-filled pit to recover whatever relics they can find. However, the deeper one goes into the Abyss, the more one is afflicted by a progressively fatal malady called the Curse of the Abyss; few who have descended into the lower regions have returned to tell of their experiences.

Tonight’s Episode: “Seeker Camp”

Riko and Reg are allowed inside the Seeker Camp, where they finally meet Ozen the Immovable, as well as her apprentice, Marulk. They quickly befriend Marulk, who wishes that they stay for a while longer so they can cave raid together. However Ozen is less supportive, and it appears there are strange secrets being kept.

retro series from 1982 – Ch?jik? Y?sai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)

In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.

Tonight’s Episode: “First Contact” and “Big Escape”

After being captured by the Zentradi, Misa, Hikaru and Kakizaki are ‘interviewed’ on human culture by Britai, Exsedol, and Supreme Commander of all Zentradi forces, Golg Boddole Zer – marking the first verbal encounter between the two races. Meanwhile, Minmay begins a singing career on the Macross. As the four miclone prisoners attempt to make their escape, a fearsome female Zentradi pilot, Milia Fallyna, attempts to approach the Macross to help sneak aboard the three Zentradi spies – now micronized to human size.

Lupin III – part IV

The internationally infamous Arsène Lupin, master thief and unrepentant womanizer, continues to seek out ever more challenging heists to pull off. With him goes an eccentric band of misfits; Jigen the scruffy sharpshooter, Fujiko the femme fatal of dubious loyalty, and Goemon the stoic swordsman. And close on their heels no matter where Lupin and his gang end up, the unrelenting Inspector Zenigata. Determined to put Lupin and his cohorts in prison for the seemingly endless list burglaries and thefts they have already pulled off.

Tonight’s Episode: “The End of Lupin III”

Zenigata is able to stop several attempts by Lupin to escape from many italian prisons, but the italian government can’t afford all the costs for such surveillance. So, to prevent him to escape once and for all, Zenigata escorts Lupin to a single, impenetrable cell on a tiny island, under his personal surveillance.

Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho (Starting the Magical Book from Zero/Grimoire of Zero)

Zero is a witch who is ignorant of the world and travels with a half-beast half-human mercenary who longs to be human. Witches and their sorcery are notorious throughout the land, though knowledge of the existence of magic remains elusive. Zero is going on a journey to search for a magical tome called “The Book of Zero” that hides a power that can destroy the world. The mercenary travels with her as her guard.

Tonight’s Episode: “The Grimoire of Zero” (finale)

With war between witches and humans in full force, our heroes attempt to create the country-wide magical ritual to seal away magic. While Zero and Thirteen are performing the ritual, Mercenary and Holdem are protecting them from the various forces trying to defeat them.

Re: Creators

S?ta Mizushino is a young high school student and anime fan who dreams of writing his own light novel. While looking to an anime for inspiration, the iPad he is watching it on sputters and drags him into the anime’s world, where he witness a battle between the anime’s character Selesia and a mysterious girl wearing a military uniform. After returning with Selesia, S?ta discovers that other characters from different stories and forms of media were also brought to the real world, with some of them aligned with the military uniform girl, who promised them the ways to end the strife in their worlds and a way back home, unaware of her true intentions.

Tonight’s Episode: “The World is for Us Two I love you too.” and “Re:CREATORS” (finale)

With so many creations destroyed by Altair, and the world in peril, and with nothing else left to try, our surviving heroes try to manifest a ridiculous long-shot. Thanks to Magane’s twisting lies that makes the audience accept it, S?ta’s creation arrives in the real world. Altair realizes that the Setsuna in front of her is a creation based of her, yet possessing all her memories and feelings. Setsuna apologizes to Altair, believing herself to be responsible for everything since she created her as an outlet for her pain.
