Below is the program for the evening of Saturday October 28^th, 2017.

It has long been considered that a relaxing evening at JAFWA is a good way to relieve the stress of exams.
This week we will be having our monthly survey of how our dear JAFWAites rate the various anime we have screened at JAFWA. As such, this week’s preview item will occur before the Dinner Break.
But with the ending of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders arc last week, we will put in something new that doesn’t need to be surveyed, so maybe this is a good time to show the KonoSuba OAV.

The JAFWA End of Year marathon screening for 2017 is closing in upon us. Soon we hope to have a first draft of the program for Saturday 16^th December, though there is a still a chance to put in a suggestion for what you want to see on the program. I am kind of hoping we can put in an episode of “Trigun”.
Special News – we are negotiating with Madman Entertainment to screen the “Your Name”/”Kimi no Na wa” movie.

Synopsis

Little Witch Academia TV

Akko Kagari enrolls into Luna Nova Academy, a school for young witches, after being inspired at a young age by a witch named Shiny Chariot, and often spends her days hanging with her classmates, Lotte and Sucy. However, she has trouble paying attention in class, doesn’t know how to ride her broom, and is often looked down upon for admiring Chariot, whom many believe gives the wrong impression about witches.

This evening’s Episode: “Cavendish”

Akko learns that Diana is leaving Luna Nova to become the head of the Cavendish family. Refusing to accept Diana simply leaving despite their past differences, Akko decides to head straight to the Cavendish estate herself to try to change Diana’s mind, joining up with Andrew and his father along the way.

preview item – Land of the Lustrous (Houseki no Kuni)

In a possibly future Earth inhabited by jewels that take the form of people, Phosphophyllite (Phos) is weak (with one of the lowest hardnesses) and considered useless by their peers. Phos asks their aloof but wise colleague Cinnabar for help after they receive an assignment to create a history encyclopedia, thus begin their friendship and personal growth. Meanwhile, the “jewel people” have to keep defending themselves against the Lunarians who want to take advantage of their luxury value.

This evening’s Episode: “Phosphophyllite”

The jewels’ master, Kongo, assigns one of the weaker jewels, Phosphophyllite (Phos), to construct an encyclopedia since they are unsuited for battle. Struggling to find any new information to include in it, Phos is recommended to seek out a jewel named Cinnabar, whose body carries a powerful poison.

Isekai Shokudou (Restaurant to Another World)

The Western Restaurant Nekoya is a restaurant situated in a mundane corner of an undisclosed Tokyo shopping district which, despite its name, offers a lot of Japanese dishes in addition to Western ones. It opens during usual business hours and closed during holidays and weekends. But secretly it is open on Saturdays, as on this particular day it creates doorways to another world inhabited by elves, dragons, animal men and other fantastic creatures, who enter the restaurant and partake on its menu, with all of them becoming regular patrons.

This evening’s Episode: “Omellete Rice / Tofu Steak”

Gaganpo, a lizardman of the Blue Tail Tribe, is chosen as the hero sent by his tribe to pick up takeaway orders of the Nekoya’s omurice, while also enjoying a few dishes for himself. Later, a vegan elf named Fardania, while searching for something delicious for her late mother’s anniversary, comes across the Nekoya’s door.

retro series from 1982 – Ch?jik? Y?sai Makurosu (Super Dimension Fortress Macross)

In 1999 a city-sized alien spacecraft crashes in South Ataria Island on Earth. Over the course of 10 years the military organization U.N. Spacy reverse-engineers its technology and rebuilds the spacecraft, naming it the SDF-1 Macross. In 2009 at the launch ceremony of the Macross, a space war fleet from the alien Zentraedi arrives in the solar system and identifies the Macross as a former battleship used by their enemies. Mistakes happen. Thus begins the war between Human and Zentraedi, led by the brave crew of the Macross.

This evening’s Episode: “Daedalus Attack”

Using a defensive anomaly left behind after the disappearance of the space fold systems, and the rings of Saturn to hide the Macross, Misa and Claudia devise a new attack strategy against the Zentraedi.

Lupin III – part IV

The internationally infamous Arsène Lupin, master thief and unrepentant womanizer, continues to seek out ever more challenging heists to pull off. With him goes an eccentric band of misfits; Jigen the scruffy sharpshooter, Fujiko the femme fatal of dubious loyalty, and Goemon the stoic swordsman. And close on their heels no matter where Lupin and his gang end up, the unrelenting Inspector Zenigata. Determined to put Lupin and his cohorts in prison for the seemingly endless list burglaries and thefts they have already pulled off.

This evening’s Episode: “Requiem for the Assassins”

Sometime ago Goemon had been hired with other killers by the young Italian politician Leopoldo Flago in order to kill Samuel Decale, an African dictator, and his bodyguard, Zora, a legendary sniper. Now someone is killing all the killers involved in that mission.

In the distant future, the discovery of the new mineral Orichalt has allowed humanity to expand beyond the Sol System. On the constant lookout for Orichalt, humanity has developed I-Machines, robots that operate in extreme environments. I-Machines function by transferring a human pilot’s consciousness into the robot’s operating system. While Alliance Academy student Maya Mikuri is in the middle of operating an I-Machine, she gets involved in an incident with pirates, and ends up serving as a crew member on an excavation company’s spaceship.

Tonight’s Episode: “Compressed Sin”

Addams reveals that his human body is Triwalker, the third of the Arisugawa clones and attacks Ido with his I-Machine. Karla intercedes, demanding he return her body as per their agreement and Addams obliges, however her physical body is weak after being inactive for 10 years.

Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho (Starting the Magical Book from Zero/Grimoire of Zero)

Zero is a witch who is ignorant of the world and travels with a half-beast half-human mercenary who longs to be human. Witches and their sorcery are notorious throughout the land, though knowledge of the existence of magic remains elusive. Zero is going on a journey to search for a magical tome called “The Book of Zero” that hides a power that can destroy the world. The mercenary travels with her as her guard.

Tonight’s Episode: “Reunion”

While the group recovers from their fall over a cliff, Albus proposes creating a large magical circle spanning around the country to cancel out all magic, thus removing the power of rogue mages without needing to kill anyone. However assassins sent by Thirteen, the Sorcerers of Zero, and a need to find Zero might interfere in plans.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (God’s Blessing on this Beautiful World)

Kazuma Satou wasn’t looking for anything beyond his simple high school shut-in existence. But one untimely death later and he finds himself before the goddess Aqua with the chance to be deposited in a fantasy kingdom that is in need of heroes to defeat a demon lord. Things don’t look good from the moment he arrives and so Kazuma decides to ditch the whole “save the world” thing and just try to become rich and live comfortably. Unfortunately, the various eccentric companions he is saddled with aren’t really helping with that goal.

This evening’s Episode: “A Loving Hand for Our Party When We Can’t Make It Through Winter!”

Kazuma and Aqua visit a magic shop run by a kind-hearted lich named Wiz, who reveals herself to be one of the Devil King’s generals in charge of protecting a barrier surrounding the Devil King’s castle. Which leads to the party taking on a request to exorcise evil spirits from a mansion, where they can stay during the winter.

This evening’s OAV: “God’s Blessings on This Wonderful Choker! ”

While running into Yunyun at Wiz’s shop, Kazuma ends up putting on a choker that supposedly grants wishes. He quickly discovers, however, that this choker will gradually tighten and eventually strangle him to death in four days unless he can fulfill the wish he had subconsciously made while putting it on.

Re: Creators

S?ta Mizushino is a young high school student and anime fan who dreams of writing his own light novel. While looking to an anime for inspiration, the iPad he is watching it on sputters and drags him into the anime’s world, where he witness a battle between the anime’s character Selesia and a mysterious girl wearing a military uniform. After returning with Selesia, S?ta discovers that other characters from different stories and forms of media were also brought to the real world, with some of them aligned with the military uniform girl, who promised them the ways to end the strife in their worlds and a way back home, unaware of her true intentions.

Tonight’s Episode: “Wonderful Days This is the actual beginning, isn’t it?”

With preparations almost ready, the creators and creations go to a hot springs inn to rest up for the Elimination Chamber Festival. As thousands of fans are assembled at Nissan Stadium for the festival, Meteora activates a new spell that works similar to Altair’s abilities to create a copy of Tokyo for the creations to fight in, along with thousands of cameras to record it and make it seem like a normal anime.
