Thanks to the power blackout a couple of months ago, JAFWA’s schedule was upset and we need to make up some time if we want to cleanly finish this year.
This week we finish the series “Akami ga Kill”. Who do you think will survive?
We also have one of the 2015 Young Animator’s Award winners that we have been trying to fit in the program for a while, as well as a couple of regular items and a retro item that won’t fit in the marathon screening next week.

Because this is the first Saturday of the month, the Doctor Who club WestLodge has booked the Hall before us, and they run till 5:30PM or so. Thus JAFWA will not start until 6PM at the earliest, though people can enter about 5:45PM.

Synopsis

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episodes:Burning Ground

The situation grows worse for Natsu and the others trapped in the Palace of Hades. Separated from each other they are now each dealing with one of the Garou Knights. This is bad enough for Natsu, Mirajane, Wendy and Pantherlilly. But for the non-magical party; Carla, Happy, Lucy and Yukino, it’s disastrous. At the moment the only thing going in their favour is the near-suicidal determination of former captain of the guard Arkadios, who’s willing to wade through lava to save Lucy and Yukino.

Shirobako (White Box)

Aoi Miyamori and her four friends made up the Animation club at their high school, and all five of them aimed to go into the Anime industry after graduation. Now Aoi, like her friends, has made her dream come true. She works for Musashino Animation, a little studio in Tokyo. The job comes with all sorts of challenges and stresses but Aoi wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t something she wanted to do.

Tonight’s Episodes:The Little Keyframe Girl

Seiichi has finally finished the second half of the last episode. The goal is in sight for Musashi Animation, which is why Honda now feels he can reveal his plans to resign and open a Confectioner’s shop. But even with the doubts about her own future that both Honda and Toudou’s resignations sparked off, Aoi will see the Exodus! finished and finished well.

OAV – Aki no Kanade (Aki’s Rhythm)

Aki Miyagawa is a member of a professional Sou Drums group in Tokyo. That would seem to be a mark of success, but because she must still work a second job to make ends meet Aki doesn’t feel like she is successful. So when her old instructor Yoshioka-sensei calls her up out of the blue to tell her that he is reviving the Kariyama Drum Festival, Aki is pessimistic about accepting the job of coach for all the new drummers.

retro – Those Who Hunt Elves, Season 2

Trapped in a fantasy world by a spell gone awry, Ryuzouji Junpei, Inoue Ritsuko and Komiyama Airi travel the land seeking out those elves with the fragments of the spell that will send them home tattooed on their bodies. They are aided in this endeavour by Celcie Marie Claire, the shapeshifting elf responsible for drawing them into this world in the first place, and Mihke … who is a tank possessed by the spirit of a cat.

Tonight’s Episodes:Those Who Wipe

It turns out there are many modern conveniences that are harder to come by when you’re stuck travelling around a fantasy realm in a possessed tank, and it’s not just technology like television. There are other more mundane things related to everyday activities, things that you still need to do even when you’re stuck in a fantasy realm. As Junpei is now finding out.

Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works

Shirou Emiya, a high school student and amateur magus living in Fuyuki City, finds himself a participant in the Fifth Holy Grail War. A secret tournament between mages and their servants, reincarnated heroes and legendary figures, to claim the Holy Grail; a chalice that can grant any wish.

Tonight’s Episode:Idealism’s End (Answer)

Having been beaten back by a revitalised Saber and a surprisingly effective Shirou, Archer has taken Rin, Saber’s new master, hostage and retreated. Not content with this, he makes a deal with Gilgamesh and Shinji to turn over Rin once he has killed Shirou. Shirou, meanwhile, believes he has figured out Archer’s true identity, and tells Saber to let him battle the faithless servant whilst she rescues Rin. With help from Lancer, who again appears to assist them as they arrive at Illyasviel’s villa.

Jojo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure)

The Joestar’s are a wealthy English family, but one with a dark fate. Ever since the days of Jonathon Joestar and his adopted brother Dio Brando, and the succession struggle that came about from Dio’s greed, the Joestar family line has found itself embroiled in supernatural horror and world-threatening ambition. And it always falls to the current Jojo, whoever it may be, to stop the madness.

Tonight’s Episodes:Elite Ancient Warriors

The Pillar Man Santana proves too much even for Jojo to handle alone. Thankfully the Nazi commander Stroheim is not completely useless, and even when Santana uses his body to hide from the noonday sun he sacrifices his own life, via grenade, to force him out again. The sun leaves Santana little more than a crumbling statue, but Jojo’s work is not finished. There are more Pillar Men, uncovered by the Nazis in Europe, and Stroheim’s last words. Someone awaits Jojo in Italy …

Akame ga Kill (Red-Eye Kill)

Tatsumi was hoping to find enough money in the capital to save his poverty stricken village, what he found instead was corruption and slaughter. The prime minister is the power behind the throne, manipulating the infant emperor for his own gain, and the common folk of the empire suffer under his reign. A group of assassins known as Night Raid prowl the city, leaving a trail of corpses in their wake. But as Tatsumi quickly discovers, they may be the only hope the empire has.

Tonight’s Episodes:Kill the Emperor” and “Akame ga Kill” (Finale)

The invincible Esdeath alone was not enough to stop the advance of the Revolutionary Army and Kurome, sensing her own end, headed out for one final battle with her sister. A battle Akame won despite Wave’s attempts to aid his comrade. Now the Revolutionary Army stands at the gates of the capitol, but the Prime Minister is not worried, because he has one final trump card.
