Weekly Bulletin for Saturday 24th January, 2015

Screening

Below is the program for January 24th, 2015.

A question has been raised about carers. While JAFWA has several younger attendees who are left at JAFWA alone for the night by their parents, it looks like carers can’t do the same for their charges. So we are evaluating a special procedure for carers who are dragged along to JAFWA by their charges.

Synopsis

Fairy Tail

Magic and mayhem in the nation of Fiore. The members of the infamous mage’s guild Fairy Tail spend their days sorting out problems for the residents of Magnolia and battling the odd apocalyptic demon or dark guild. Of course they don’t let little things like that get in the way of having fun.

Tonight’s Episode:Song of the Stars

All set to make his retirement official and appoint Gildarts, Makarov discovers the Fifth Master has run off. But not before inviting Laxus back into the guild and naming Makarov as the Sixth Master. With the old man back in charge, the only thing missing from the good old days is Fairy Tail’s position as number one guild. The new Grand Magic Games could fix that. So with three months till the games, and Wendy having received a manual on Grandine’s Air Dragon magic from the witch Poluchka, it’s time to start training.

Barakamon

Seishuu Handa is a new rising star in the world of professional, artistic, calligraphy. But when his pride and temper land him in trouble, he finds himself cooling his heels on the quaint little island of Gotou. Seishuu quickly finds the island’s residents to be both infuriating and invigorating in equal measure. Especially the diminutive Naru Kotoishi.

Tonight’s Episode:Dacchi Ikode (Let’s All Go Together)

Time with the children, and a night lost in the wilderness behind his house, led to the inspiration Handa had been looking for with his calligraphy. But a phone call is set to change everything. The director he punched, the very reason he was exiled to the island in the first place, wants Handa to return to Tokyo. Handa meanwhile is still being held hostage by the “Obey your Orders” promissory note he gave to Naru on her birthday, but he is spared from catching toads when Naru’s grandfather ropes him into helping build a typhoon wall for the village.

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girl’s Nozaki-kun)

High school student Sakura Chiyo has a serious crush on her tall, stoic schoolmate Nozaki Umetarou. But when she finally plucks up the courage to tell him she always wants to be with him, she finds herself employed as his assistant. Turns out Nozaki is a shoujo manga artist, and by working alongside him Sakura gets to see her high school crush in action … and see the not-so-perfect inspiration for his stories.

Tonight’s Episode:Violence vs The Prince

Sakura has now met Mikorin, the popular guy at school that serves as the inspiration for Nozaki’s shy and easily embarrassed heroine. And Nozaki has met Seo Yuzuki, Sakura’s aggressive, tactless tomboy friend and amazing singer (and immediately turned her into an insensitive jerk in his manga). But there are more people to add to Nozaki’s collection of character inspirations, including a friend of Mikorin’s who goes by the nickname “Prince of the School” …

Preview Item – Sabagebu – Survival Game Club!

Momoka Sonokawa doesn’t bother with friends or clubs at school, it’s less hassle that way. When your parents move about a lot for work you’re saying goodbye to friends before you’ve even got to know them. But at her newest school, Aogiri Academy, there is the Survival Game Club, and they are all about having fun! They couldn’t care less about the harsh realities of life. Or the awkwardness of making new friends … Or rational behaviour …

Tonight’s Episode:Joining a Club!

Perverts are an unfortunate reality on crowded Japanese trains, but today Momoka Sonokawa gets a rather dramatic and unexpected reprieve when another passenger comes to her aid. The strangeness continues at school; weary from wearing a fake smile for the other girl’s in her new class all morning and wishing for nothing more than a change of pace, Momoka spots her saviour from the train and decides to follower her, secretly.

Log Horizon season 2

Life continues for Shiroe and the others trapped within the world of Elder Tale. The city of Akihabara is now prosperous and thriving thanks to the efforts and innovations of the adventurers. But prosperity does not guarantee safety, Shiroe’s skills have already been tested against the nefarious Nureha and her guild Plant Hwyaden, and now he must find a way to secure Akihabara’s future against those who would seek to claim it for themselves.

Tonight’s Episode:The Abyssal Shaft

With Shiroe securing the support of the Silver Sword guild (with surprisingly little difficulty) and Naotsugu stumbling upon the hyperactive Tetra, Demikas rounds out their numbers to the required 24 (although Demikas has his own reasons for participating in their raid, none of which are good news for Shiroe). Akatsuki, meanwhile, is carrying out the task Shiroe asked of her; guarding Princess Lenissia whilst the other big hitters of the Round Table are away. A task she is finding very dull, and also suspects is not Shiroe’s real reason for keeping her in the city.

Noragami (Stray God)

Hiyori Iki is introduced to the world of spirits and deities after her first encounter with Yato, a homeless war god, results in a near death experience. Now Hiyori needs the ambitious Yato to help stop her soul from disconnecting from her body, but a god who doesn’t even have a shrine, let alone worshippers, doesn’t really inspire much confidence.

Tonight’s Episode:Bidden Calamity

A disastrous attempt by Hiyori to find a suitable replacement for Yato’s Regalia ended up leading them to Yuki (or Yukine as he is called when in human form) a pure spirit who was suited to becoming Regalia. And if he isn’t particularly respectful of Yato? Well, he’s not the first. And speaking of others with no respect for Yato, Hiyori is still waiting for her job to be completed. Which is particularly frustrating seeing how she already paid her 5 yen and Yato is freeloading off her for food.

Sword Art Online, Season 2

It has been a year since the victims of Alfheim Online were freed from their virtual prison, and more than a year since Sword Art Online was shut down. But now it has begun once again. A mysterious figure has been making appearances in the game Gun Gale Online, and other players drop dead in their wake. Kirito finds himself once again risking his life in the online world.

Tonight’s Episode:Pursuer of Death

Kirito has now explained to Sinon his purpose in the BoB Tournament, and Death Gun’s apparent ability to kill players for real. So the two set off to try and ambush him, but his anonymity and cloaking ability turn the tables on them and Sinon finds herself paralysed and helpless. Worse still, Death Gun’s killer pistol is the same model as the one that triggers Sinon’s real-world panic attacks, and now that she knows it can kill her even here in the virtual world the panic is rising again.

Gunbuster

Takaya Noriko wants to follow in the footsteps of her father and travel the vastness of space, and she has enlisted in a mecha training academy to fulfill that dream. But there is more to the academy than just training skilled astronauts, there is an alien race out there with its sights set on Earth. Noriko and the other trainees will be fighting for the survival of the human race.

Tonight’s Episode:First Love, First Sortie

So far Noriko’s first trip into space has been hectic, and traumatic. Meeting the famous Russian combat strategist Jung Freud and getting mixed up in Jung and Kazumi’s rivalry. Then encountering the remains of her father’s ship, the Luxion, as it passed through the solar system at near-light speed. Nonetheless, the battleship Excelion is complete and is now on its way. Time for the recruits to gather round in a darkened room and swap ghost stories about the dangers lurking in warp space…

Psycho-Pass 2

Makishima Shougo is dead, and Akane Tsunemori still works for Public Security. With a new junior inspector and two new Enforcers she struggles to protect the public from the latent criminals in their midst, whilst hiding from them the horrible truth of the Sybil System. But a new menace walks the streets, a new threat that once again cannot be judged by Sybil. And this time they’re not just a lone psychopath, this time they’re recruiting.

Tonight’s Episode:The Devil’s Proof

After conferring with Enforcer Tougane, Akane believes that Kitazawa’s claims of an accomplice who can fool the Sybil System need to be taken seriously. A hypothesis that proves correct when his Crime Coefficient nose-dives and the Bureau is forced to release him. Whereupon he sets off another bomb. But just before Division 2 executes him Akane gets the name of his accomplice, Kamui, as well as an explanation for the message left at the scene of Enforcer Yamatoya’s death. A message that has also turned up scratched into the wall of her apartment…

Danganronpa

Hope’s Peak Private Academy is a famous boarding school, known as a place for students who are the best in their field. When the unremarkable Makoto Naegi wins a lottery to enter the school he and fourteen other new students find the horrible truth hidden within; Hope’s Peak is a prison, and the only way out is to kill one of the other inmates without getting caught.

Tonight’s Episode:Kill Free or Live Hard (part 2)

Maizono Sayoko is the first to be killed, after convincing Naegi to swap rooms, he finds her dead in his bathroom the next morning. After Junko Enoshima balks at Monobear’s announcement of a Class Trial to find the killer (or die in their place) she becomes the second. But Naegi is now the one in trouble. Monobear has released further details of Maizono’s murder, and now that everyone else knows Maizono died in Naegi’s room, they all think it was him.
